  • By the time it "is" 27 degrees it will already be snowing!

  • A wet bulb temp of 27F or lower is needed to make snow. Snow can be made at 35 if the humidity is super low (like under 20%), but I've never had that happen yet.

  • @snowj720 we made it at 31 at my local hill this year, with high humidity, it wasnt good snow, but it was great for building a park, usually we wait for it to drop below 20, and preferably 0 and 60% humidity

  • @phil656565 The hill is a different story than a backyard though. The hill usually taps a pond which is much colder than the 50 degree water coming from my tap. Plus the guns are usually set pretty high giving the moisture a chance to freeze before it hits the ground (mine is no more than 7' off the ground).

    I do like that wetter snow when it comes to building stuff with it. I try to make my wall approach and some other stuff with that then blow fluffier stuff on top.

  • @snowj720 that it is, we have fan guns, keeps the water in the air for a much longer time.
