Lovely video no fighting no eating each other just beautiful music both Greek and Turk enjoying it. To all the idiots who turn even the simplest and sweetest things into a bloody war please please get off this boat it wont sink music has every tiny hole and crack covered with its overpowering trancendance of hope.
Beautiful, but somehow saddening video. From my neutral point of view, it seems quite sad to see how all guests leave the Turkish singer alone during her charming performance, and all those circumspect faces. If you can't even enjoy together your common cultural heritage, I see little chances of understanding for the future.
fck greek - turkish bullshit. Half of the greek people cant pay rent anymore and spiros papadopoulos earns 50.000 euros a month from OUR taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just to eat and drink provocatively at these difficult moments. A so called left wing supporter really cares about his people......... DISCRASE!!!!!!!!
Fide hanim, vize kurallarini coktan asmis'ta bizim haberimiz yok.... Bu yorumum, sadece kilik kiyafete idir. Yoksa Türkü söyleyisine kesinlikle ihtirazim yok.. Ortam düzeni diye bir mesele vardir, ve burda hedef tahtasini tam iskalamis!....
Agreed that heritage and music is shared. Having said that, 40 years of occupied Cyprus is pretty hard to swallow. I wasn't there personally but I have many relatives who were and lost their ancestral lands. It is still a bitter pill to swallow and nobody cares because Cyprus does not have OIL.
It's always time for peace. Make a friend of your enemies, they will restore you. All those jerks who talk crap about it here on YouTube!!! You never matured emotionally past the age of 10.
Fide is gorgeous and so talented. She's spreading good will with every note she sings (and every little tsifteteli wiggle of those hips....mmm hmmm).
Music is universal in my opinion. Thus it doesn't belong to any one nation. Instead of focusing on differences we should focus on similarities like these tunes :)
my thoughts is how i get MY country back !!! i also thing of revange all the good things we had from turks, like beheading, devsirmeh, rape, dhimmi !!! the jews had only 10 years problems with the germans but there is no way of friendship and we sufer more then 400years our territoriestor are gone and some people speak about being friend's !!! insalah the day will come
The first song Tha Spaso Koupes was recorded in Turkish in 1910 in Istanbul as "Ciftetelli Kantosu - Saclar Perisham" (odeon 54726) sung by Karagac Efendi; and the second song, Cakici or Izmirin Kavaklari, was recorded in New York by the Anatolian Greek, Achilleas Poulos, sung in Turkish, around 1926. Shared and overlapping musics is one of the great and positive legacies of the Ottoman Empire

I totally agree with you.Friendship and good intention is the point. But you see there are people living by just hating. We can;t change them.Just ignore them and keep smiling and having open hearts
@ElDesmadreGriego I agree with you, we should request from You Tube one more option (reply, up, down and flag) the final one IDIOT. Three IDIOT flags and you are band from making any king of comments.
More than that, my opiniion is that even in football, and politics should exist a conciliation - the fair play. The idea of keeeping culture clean from any wars and fights is a bless for all.
Couple nice songs sang in Greek and Turkish with beautiful melodic voices from both sides of the Aegean.. Great job!!
Fide is amazing!!!She also sings in Greek and speaks excelent Greek.

Because we know how hard it is to learn Greek! Perhaps Greek should be the Global language, but blame it on the Americans for selecting English over Greek by one vote, French was third!

The first song is sung by Maria Soultatou (not Soldatou). It is entitled Tha spaso koupes.
For more of her videos, type "Soultatou" and/or "Thria" in the search bar.
The second song is sung by Fide Koksal.
So, a correction of the vid title is in order.
