@UnoDosahscrewit Before it was a film, TV show & song it was a book of short comedy essays by Jean Kerr in the vein of Erma Bombeck's THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER OVER THE SEPTIC TANK and IF LIFE IS A BOWL OF CHERRIES, WHAT AM I DOING IN THE PITS? Kerr's book, like the film, had a city family coping with moving to the suburbs (somewhat like moving into the country back then) told with a series of absurd stories such as a kid eating daises. It was also a chance to provide a wacky title.

She becomes exasperated with the lists of things she has to instruct her sons NOT to do - the last thing she expected to say is "don't eat that" about the daisies. Justthere, Been There! Done That!

very believably exasperated - as any mother of 4 boys would be ! She really was

a mother quite often. I love the bath scene in The Thrill of it All.... who hasn't been

with regard to the daisies: i haven't eaten any daisies in a very long time. i'm not eating the daisies now, but i am having regular dinners... in places where they keep begging me to chew on some very expensive daisies. unfortunately, somebody else owns the garden......

thus... the daisies will not be eaten. and i'll start eating my dinners at home.
