Brilliant version ! You guys should do a ATE version of an old motown tune ? maybe , just my imagination or Higher and Higher ( not technically Motown ) something along those lines . Or I could be crazy but I can hear it already .
I was at your show in Altanta last month, and you mentioned that you guys weren't sure you'd be allowed back after "last time." I was curious why. Now I know, I guess ^_^
I'd really like to see you guys cover a Tom Waits song...
Maybe "God's Away On Business" or even "Hold On" (one of my favorite songs of all times...)
I think that the way you cover the song instrumentally would be fascinating, and potentially BADASS, especially given the fact that Waits' instrumentation is...creative.
Time After Time By Cindi Lauper i know there is a million versions of it but you guys would be really good at it thanks guys you guys are awesome try it you guys would have the best version of it.
It would be great to see you (one of America's great bands) do a cover of one the UK's great bands James. Any of their songs but 'Sometimes' is a personal fav of mine.
Jon Trailerpark Jacksons original song 'Excuse me'- he's brilliant like you guys and could use the exposure, the money and above all the recognition- its on youtube
this was sooo funny when u guys were like this goes out to all the police stations that held us against our will, and then proceeded to name off like 10 places haha
It would be marvelous if you could cover "I Won't Take the Blame" from Del Amitri's "Change Everything".
Most any Del Amitri song from "Twisted", "Change Everything" or "Waking Hours" would be most awesome! I think Del Amitri would be a perfect fit for your series.
I was thinking anything by the smiths, it's hard to choose a fav. but panic or ask would be kick ass! thank you again Mikel for the hug and the kind words the other night in sacramento. Hope you all enjoy your vacation!!! Nicole
I was thinking anything by the smiths, it's hard to choose a fav. but panic or ask would be kick ass! thank you again Mikel for the hug and the kind words the other night in sacramento. Hope you all enjoy your vacation!!! Nicole
so, i was listening to "possium kindom" by the "toadies"
and couldn't help but to imagine how darin would kill the drums,
and how well noah and steven could rock the guitar and bass
on that song. But mostly, i was curious how anna and mikel might evoke an even more haunting sound to re-invent this classic, adding in a little viola, tate style!
The best cover songs are ones where the band has a completely new take on a song, like Guns and Roses Live and Let Die or Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower. I think you guys should cover a really heavy song and make it your own. Idk if you could get the rights to do it, but I would love to hear your take on Metallica's One.
Iv been thinking about what songs you should cover and i came up with alot. 1)I Want You- Bob Dylan; 2)4th Time Around- Bob Dylan; 3)Black Diamond Bay- Bob Dylan; 4)Sweet Jane-The Velvet Underground; Lady Grining Soul; David Bowie; 5)Mama, You Been On My Minde-Bob Dylan; 7)Because The Night-Patti Smith; 8)Peggy Sue-Buddy Holly; 9)Happyness Is A Warm Gun-The Beatles: 10)Olivers Army-Elvis Costello; 11)Dear Prudence- The Beatles; 12)Soul Love-David Bowie
Would love to see you guys try some Motown. My vote is for I Heard It Through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye. Thank you again for the Origins Tour week, hope your travels bring you back to NYC soon.
great cover, didnt expect anything less. my suggestions are "there is a light that never goes out" by the smiths or "kings of medicine" by placebo. another good song that would be good accoustic is "sunshine on leith" by the proclaimers. looking forward to seeing you perform in the uk soon
Nice job and I'm a southern TATE fan!! "You've got to hide your love away" or "I've just seen a face" by The Beatles, or "This land is your land" Woody Guthrie
Amazing show you guys had in Austin! Thank you so much for one of he best concerts I have attended! You all have so much passion for music and I hope one day I can wake up every morning and love my job as much as you all do.
