U wont Be able to back up Ur cydia Package but Ur Settings for those packages will Be saved so of u re Download cydia all u gotta do is get the packages again. U should jailbreak with Spirit its better and u can upgrade to 3.1.3. And jailbreak.
I don't no how to back up my iPod I no iTunes does it automaticly but i need to save every last note,song,web history,app,every thing I downloaded from cydia and rock
completely restore to the basic and then jailbreak that the only way sorry..
