  • Being a genius, when I was in 1st grade I got up in the middle of a lesson to point out to everyone that when "M" was turned upside down, it looked like a "W". Noone was impressed for some reason.

  • I was in Kindergarten in 1995-96 and I used 2 LUV hearin' and singin' these songs!

  • awwww i remember these from when i was in kindergarten back in the 80s!

  • I yawn at Mr. Y. Anyone else?

  • I am 32 and I remember this!

  • @leanncraigo Heck, I'm 22 years and I too remember this.

  • Was the person who designed these charaters on LSD? Im not used to these ones. I prefered the newer ones.

  • These letter people give me nighmares

  • i grew up on the newer versions of the letter people and in my opinion these look messed up probably because im used to the new ones

  • THIS BROUGHT BACK MAJOR NOSTALGIA!!!

  • The new ones are....odd

  • 1:47 me:WHAT THE!!!!!!

  • i used to LOVE THIS STUFF! i had blow up letter people, hundreds of sheets of colored letter people all over. amazing that i don't hear much about this anymore.

  • When I went to kindergarten in '75, Miss O was obstinate. I think this Miss O was from the revamped version.

  • I remember this from kindergarden. I am 22 years old. I remember the blow up letter ppls.

  • @LeiAris1 Did you go to Canterbury Elementary?

  • kinderfuckingarden first day JESUS I REMEMBER!!!

  • Miss I On that shit!!!!!!!

  • You REALLY should have included the itching and obstinate songs for I and O, which are infinitely better than the lame "inventor" and "optimist" ones.

  • before i watched this, the only 2 i could remember some of the lyrics for were M and S. while watching this vid i began to remember A, B, E and T.

  • i guess mr. c is where chappelle show go the inspiration for mr herpes

  • i lvoe the letter people there from kindergardeeen;)

    Thumbsup?

  • hhahaha! rember tem from kindegaarrdeen! hahaha thumbs upp

  • The Letter People are amazing.

I am teaching my children to read with the letter people.

  • This brings back memories.

  • Damn !! Ms. I looks like an insane insomniac with insurmountable insecurity's & an impotent insignificant idiot husband. Who designed these People ?? Over indulged pot smokers.

  • Ahh! These are way cooler than the ones I got in kindergarten.

  • Uh gee I always thought sneezing starts with the letter S...

  • @gtz1975

Go fuck yourself as well sir.

  • @donniedarkodevotte lol your the ONLY who figured out my code! That's awsome!

  • A lot of these Letter People were pretty arrogant.

So, if Mr. L thinks kindergarten kids should be licking lollipops and he's made of lollipops...

  • MR.M IS ALSOMEEE

  • Miss O's music has always moved me! So disco.

  • I have a feeling Mr. S is Mr. F in disguise. They have similar voices, they're both green, and they both have gigantic feet.

  • Did anyone else notice Woodstock from the Peanuts is stuck to Mr. J?

  • 109 years ago it was awsome

  • I love this record! I wish | could listen to the whole thing again. The original Letter People are the best! They're a great idea.

  • I remember Mr. M from Kindergarten 21 years ago! The song has randomly popped in my head over the years! haha...I'm a teacher now, and the kindergarteners still do these! They LOVE Mr. M! :)

  • I miss these guys, I remember them from pre k. I doubt there used anymore sadly

  • @KillaMike999 there used all the time

  • Love the letter people!!! Wish I had a record player to play the full record of all their songs

  • They've changed some of these since our day.

  • The letter people! i remember this from when i was 4

  • the bird in mr j looks like the one in the peanuts

  • Is that Woodstock in the birdcage lodged in Mr. J's side?

  • oh man...kindergarten was the shiz. I remember Mr. M...with the munching mouth. and Mr. F with the funny feet. and i remember the teacher having inflatable versions of some of the letters and hiding them in the classroom. :)

  • whoa these r from the 70s?! i had no idea. my parents bought these for me in the 90s. i never knew...they really did help though!

  • Brings back Kindergarten memories! ^^

  • I LOVED the Letter People. We had the records (double set) at home, and my kinder teacher taught with them. This version does not show the original Miss I (Itching) and Miss O (Obstinate), but the rest are as I remember. Mr. S has the BEST song, no contest.

  • I remember Mr. H pretty vividly because my kindergarten teacher told us a story about why he had long "hair", which was that when getting his hair cut by the barber the barber apparently cut off part of his ear, so he never got his hair cut again.

And that story just completely made me paranoid about getting my hair cut when I was a kid....

  • my fav songs are Mr. F and Mr. M :)

  • I never heard of the Letter People before, but they look cool.

  • I maintain they chose what they did to represent each letter based ONLY on what would be the easiest to make a puppet for! Pointy patches? really?? My son is in kindergarten and he loves the letter people, and I don't mind them too much overall.

  • We had inflatable dolls of the Letterpeople, very early 80's, original versions I believe

My friend and i had a crush on Mr. M

  • @dheffley1

LOL....I was all about Mr. S and Mr. F

  • Kindergarten 1994-1995

  • i learned about this in kindergarten haha!

  • I never seen these as a kid, but the songs are pretty neat.

  • I'm sad that when I went to kindergarten that they changed them to the gay versions. since when is dancing better than donuts? since when is a colossal cap better than cotton candy.

    Kindergarten 2001-2002( I think)

  • @TheBuddyCakes I had the same letter people as you did because they thought the old ones had bad influences on kids because of jnk food n stuff

  • @TheBuddyCakes Negative themes ( such as Horrible Hair) And Mister X Being all wrong Mixed up now hes Different. (WTF At least Mixed up has an X in it!)

  • @TheBuddyCakes I know....what kindergartener is using the word "colossal"....seriously

  • Yikes! I remember them as the inflatable versions.

  • when i went to school we had way different letter people then this.

2002 West Hill School (primary school)

this school is shut down now and i miss it with all my heart. tears

  • Ahhhh, kindergarten......

  • they look like anthropomorphic viruses.

    btw kindergarten 1993-94

  • Such a wonderful program! Kindergarten 1988-1989!

  • This art is twisted..

  • @Akhiloth

I know. I remeber these guys, but I don't recall them being cthulian nightmares for children.

  • Mr. G is highly disturbing

  • So is Mr. H

  • We listened to this when I was in Kindergarten in 1985.

  • great now i am gonna have nightmares forever because these bastards used to and still freak me out!

  • I remember these in my Kindergarten year in the 70's. Brings back memories!

  • Wow, I remember these from when I was in kindergarten back in 1997. Mister M used to be my favorite. Ah nostalgia...

  • I remember these

  • some of them look so fucking scary.

  • When i was in kindergarden which wasnt all that long ago cuz im only 12. We had the blow up 1's too. I almost started crying because of the wonderful memories it brought me about how pure and fun being in kindergarden can b. I always wanted to grow up and now i wanna go back! I miss the letter ppl in middle school! LOL

  • 25 years ago this was the best thing in school Still is!

  • yay to all the lettter people

  • I Love Letter people!!!!!!

  • Oh my gosh!! This brings back so many memories!! This is how I learned the alphabet!! :) I loved Mr. T and his Tall Teeth!! We also had a blow up Mr. T too!

  • Wow! It was so fun to learn the alphabet with these guys! I cannot believe it was so long ago...

  • Our kindergarden class in 86-87 had the COOL blow-up kind !!

O is sexy as hell...WTF did I just say?

Now that i think about it, I was introduced to blow-up dolls at a very early age in the Tampa, FL school district. They introduced us to a new blow-up doll each week.

    Oh well, HAHA...COOL VID!!!

  • A fond salute to the original letter people. You guys have been etched in my memory for 23 years.

  • It's been too long since I've seen this. I remember this when I was in Kindergarten. That was what, 24 years ago

  • i don't believe it its been so long.

  • Good vid, but Mr. T was orange!

He kind of looks like a broccoli stalk all green.

  • This brings back so much memories.. jesus .. i use to watch these in pre k.. now im 26 years old

  • mr z looks a little weird

  • no dude ms. i is scary.

  • mr z looks a litttle weird

  • after listening to these and reminiscing, i realized a couple things:

Mr. X's song is creepy and

what kindergartener knows what optimistic is?

  • LOL, I still remember our teacher trying to explain the definition of "optimistic" to us in kindergarten terms and nobody catching on. She said because of that she wouldn't play the song. We kept bugging her to do it, so she did, and the song just confused us further.

  • when i was little, miss o was obstinate.

  • I agree, that Mr X is rather strange. Creepy I'd definately agree to.

  • I remembered a few of the letter people and wanted to show my 3 year old how I learned the alpahbet. This was a perfect video to show him, Thanks.

  • Kindergarden. Mr. M was my first introduction to the letter people, and I was sort of imprinted. Mr. R stuck in my mind as well. You've done a tremendous service with this video. Thank you.

  • I remember these guys quite fondly. Some better than others: some of the songs don't sound familiar at all. I'm guessing the ones I didn't like as much when I was a kid, since those are the same ones I'm not as fond of now.

Miss U has the best song. I know a lot of people give that title to Mr. M--not a bad choice either, mind you--but Miss U's song is just so wheefully fun. Not as cool looking as Mr. H, or Mr. J, or Mr. R, or many of the others.

Mr. K was and is my least favorite.

  • I remember those guys since kindergarten

  • oh man it's 1984 for me again.

  • me too

  • i mean that snake tongue is kinda creepy i dont know maybe its just me...the ones i think are most clever are MR X, MR Q because those are hard letters to create words with......my overall opinion of these though are that they are very clever.

  • Look at Mr. G a little more closely....it's not a snake tongue! He's pulling some of his Gooey Gum out of his mouth :)

  • i love these things...i will tell you tho that a few are VERY STRANGEl...first MR R looks like someone who would be the bully of the letter people...not to mention i think with a common letter like R they could of come up with something better than "ripping rubber bands" ..another strange one is Ms O...i mean all the letter people use basic words like funny feet, noisy nose, munchy mouth etc....i think "optimist' is a word i dont think most 5 year olds are gonna relate too. the other one is MR G

  • What about that saying "a e i o u and sometimes y"? Y does act as vowel too

  • they still make those inflatable things but they have changed the letter people there is more girls now and the inflatable things look different. i dont like them, i like the originals i wanna buy a set

  • I'm imagining the crowd going wild when Mr. M comes up. :-D Thanks for posting this, I'm having nostalgia overload.

  • These are Alot Different Today

  • dude i just realized most of these are about food. and the bassline for mr.m's song was awesome

  • Man this takes me back. I loved the letter people!

  • they changed thses now

  • They were always changing them! I don't think they ever did codify what they were supposed to look like. The puppets from the tv show looked totally different from the inflatable things and the stickers. Even barring the tv show there are differences. The Mr. T that was around when I saw these was orange (like the one on the tv show!), not green. It's so wild seeing and hearing this stuff again.

  • This is a kick ass video...brings back alot of memories...i remember some of these but not all of them...it was a long time ago.

  • where you find this images

  • Still teach my son the letter people after 30 years have passed since I learned them in kindergarten!

  • I'm just glad to know I am not the only one that misses Letter People Land...They really should bring it back.

  • Mr. L? OMG THEY PUT LUIGI IN THIS TV SHOW!

  • JadieBloop!!!!!!

    woo!!

    It's me Shadowind from Acc!!

  • Cool! WHat are you doing here looking at Letter People 0.o

  • Learning theyre language =D~!

  • Lol

  • Ah, the memories.

My brother thought these letter people were Robot Masters from Megaman when he was in kindergarten.

  • When you was a kid and you were taught this, you liked it when the letter of the day was the same as your first name.

    Admit it.

  • Ah, I loved these guys. Each week we'd do a new one, and that was the best part of Mondays for me in kindergarten was coming to find out what the next letter was. They didn't do them in the order of the alphabet. There was like a set order on the record. M was first, then T, then F, and so on. The last one was either Q or X, I can't remember. does anyone have the exact order by any chance?

  • My favorites are Mr. H, Mr. J, Mr. N, Miss O, And Mr. S.

  • This was so much fun. It really takes me back.

    Thanks

  • Geez, Mr. G was an ass.

  • a creepy as hell ass, at that.

  • If all the vowels were female, shouldn't letter Y have gender identity issues?

  • I remember listening to this songs (on casettes) as a kid. Thoses song are pretty catchy. It's too bad they don't really use them anymore... Mr. G was a little creepy, Mr. R seemed kind of violent, and Mr. X is just...ALL WRONG. ~_^

  • Holy shit: 1990, kindergarten. I remember coloring in all the letter people with crayons the size of hotdogs and hearing their theme songs on a stupid old record player. Every week we got a new one. I still consider vowels feminine. I always felt bad for the dudes, such a devastating shortage of ladies.

  • nostalgia...

  • I fondly remember the characters and songs.

  • HA!!!! I remember these guys from kinder garden we had inflatable letter peoples

  • Wow, I remembered about 20 of those before they even sang them and I haven't heard it since 1993. LOL, brings back memories.

  • :) Brings back memories... :)

    thanks.

  • Wow!! That was amazing! Because I used to watch the letter people when I was a little kid. Thanks for posting this.
