You know what else I don't hear? I don't hear the anti-Coleman people referring to articles, instances that include the facts of the actual complaints about why Coleman wants the delay. It only comes with "spin", like 'Coleman is a loser who won't concede", etc rather than saying precisely what happened, what Coleman believes is possible and why you think he won't succeed. Why do you go from the assumption that he'll not win his court case & is, therefre, purposely obstructing? thats not right
You say it doesn't matter if one is Dem or Rep but it sounds as if you only care about your liberal values because what you are complaining about is due process over a legitimate discrepency. And your suggestion to remedy this perfectly legal "due process" is to have what will be mostly liberals complain to what will be mostly liberal rep's for a way to circumvent due process, to ignore a legit discrepency having its due process in the courts. Can you demonstrate actual injury due to this delay?
Due process? How about proper representation? I have always loathed the electoral college, long before that election in 2000. I am a Civil Libertarian, one that feels mostly nauseous over the two-party system. I do not need a nanny or a fascist pretending to be something else. What do you call a torture state? Is it better we got Bush? We are stuck with this system until something gives. I am in need of getting all the facts in addition to whats there will take some time. It will stick!
Proper representation? What do you suggest that is? The founding fathers wanted us together and fighting (debating) whose got the best ideas and what do you lead with? Anti-OReilly, Anti-Republican bias. What a surprise! If Obama wasn't the perfect storm to assuage liberal white guilt, the most politically naive and unsophisticed wouldn't have come out in record numbers and, therefore, jokes like Franken wouldn't have the pseudo-legitimacy that only such a "perfect storm" could confer..
You mean you are sick of "due process?" I'll bet you weren't sick of it when Gore supporters wanted incessant FL recounts.
I think it's typical bleeding-heart style for the video's author to "feel bad" for all Minnesotans. You have to remember that this race is virtually tied. I'll bet half the state is tough enough to weather the due process. That doesn't mean they don't care about other MN, or Franken supporters. It just means they're more hardy & don't suffer from victim mentality.
Not if the filled seat doesn't really belong to the person who is sitting there. That's why they have the process that's taking place now. Besides, the seat of the president is covered because it's more important than the seat of 1 senator. But, I don't believe the reason you didn't mind the Gore/Bush delay was because someone ends up filling the seat. It's because you wanted Gore in office and wanted due process to sort it out.
My problem with that recount was that it was cut short, rather than runt he process which it should have. It doesn't affect citizens directly before the transition takes place. As long as the seat gets filled, which it would have due to established rules.
My real issue is with an empty seat. Gore didn't push it until the time someone would actually be seated, like Coleman has clearly done. He just conceited at a point, despite cheap shots from the other side.
Virtually tied or not, yes, it's a tiny margin of the votes. Though even 1 vote, when they are all counted, makes the difference between a win and a loss.
If you see Coleman has changed his statements about it from implying if it were him, he'd quit, when he was winning, to being satisfied with respecting the decision of the judges, to trying to invalidate the court claim during it's process, to now appealing it's whole decision.
I think you are mistaken, Sir. It hurts MN more to not follow the due process of law. "Frank"ly, I don't care about MN'ers, more or less, than I care about people from MA. I care about people, as a whole, & I have a great respect for the Constitution and the laws that govern this country.
Where you lose credibility is when you take the typical anti-O'Reilly, anti-Republican rant. I'm independent but I think there was truly some fishy business with proxy & dupe votes & I want to see due justice

In an election this close, both Coleman and Franken (let alone the citizens of the state) would desire a recount, as it should be.
I've suspected that this recount has dragged on much too long because of the number "60".
I've heard a few political pundits deride Mr. Franken (i.e., Senator Franken!) because of his SNL past.
Yet, they certainly must have read his books - which I think is exactly why they avoid that aspect of his career.
May Sen. Franken serve Minnesota well. I believe he will.

The thing about a presidential race, if they don't decide it, there is a process that puts someone in the seat until the recount is resolved.
For the US Senate, that is not the case.
A filled seat is better than an empty seat.
