oh i have more than 80 hours with the spy and hardly 15 with any other class

and as you might see i do work with that class

big earner is the most useful knife imo even if you lose a bit of hp you can get a ton of survival hits with the deadringer one kill usually will allow to recloak and survive and regroup for another strike

it the enforcer does not affect the dead ringer cloak so its a good combination

i like spy, i use it alot, but i dont use that set any. enforcer is op and the big earner sucks. i use the your eternal reward, l'etranger and dead ringer or the spy cicle with the diamondback. i use sharp dresser and the black rose some. i dont main in spy tho. i should so get on your server and troll lol

I'm good with it but its really dependent on your computer.

You need REALLY good frames so you won't lag when u need to turn rly fast or stair jump to backstab. I usually don't get that good frames.

I do indeed less then 3 spie but on a srs note big earner is not that bad sure the health thing is a major issue but with the lt'ranger you can pretty much refill your deadringer quickly with it

Spy is really to me, what makes tf2 so different and original from other games. In no other game can I get the similar satisfaction of stalking my kill, hunting them down in the thrill of the chase (feeling like a total bad ass assassin), and getting a brutally personal, humiliating and oh so satisfying backstab. I don't know of any other game that has a character like that. He's my favorite and most played class.

Shibby, I actually use that same load out as you because the dead ringer ignores the cloak time, enforcer is powerful, and big earner gives more dead ringer cloak so you can pull it out faster instead of having to find ammo.

Why do people use this knife that gives you cloak on hit,when you can just get the default spy knife and pick up your victim's weapon for cloak(default spy watch and DR)

in my opinion the man of honor set IS supposed to be used with the deadringer, since the deadringer is not affected by increased cloak blink time, and the big earners +30% cloak on kill means you can recharge your deadringer quickly, pull it out, escape, and start trolling all over again :)

IMO the Big Earner does fit well with the Dead ringer. Think about it:

You get hit, feign death, then uncloak. Depending on how long you were cloaking for, you realise you're not gonna be able to feign death for a while.

You backstab an enemy, you get their ammo to refill your cloak meter, and that last stab adds just about enough cloak for you to use the dead ringer again. Usually that means you refill your cloak faster :)

I do enjoy the spy class! I use "L'entranger", and the "Your Eternal Reward" (which I used a name-tag to call my "SUPRISE'N'DISGUISE") pretty clever :D

And the dead ringer. I need the familiar fez, then my set is complete. And I think you're actualy a pretty decent spy, you just need more practice, and a better loadout.

I would love the Spy ALOT more if it werent for the guarantee kills of the backstab. I could understand it doing like 150 damage which would kill most classes unbuffed and the stronger characters in 2 stabs. but anyone who's ever been stabbed and survived without having a baboon heart stuffed in their chests knows that a knife isnt an instant kill. You can still do some amazing things with backstab without id doing 6 times current health

In my opinion, playing any class depends a lot on your own gameplay style. If you are of the type that enjoys being in the middle of the fight, getting and giving damage, tank class like Heavy, Soldier and even Demo are good. If you like Speed and Evasion, Scout. In the case of the Spy, I like it because of the surprise factor, as with their tools they are designed to break the other team's organization, adding a touch of insecurity to them, leaving unable to think for a few seconds...

My opinion on the spy:

its not a matter of liking the spy or not, but instead a matter of what tf2 would be without him. putting your feeling aside, the spy accomplishes several goals that no other class can:

1) getting behind enemy lines and being attacked from any direction

2) not being able to 100% trust your allies, as one might be a spy

3) most importantly, the fear of instantaneous death by backstab

without these 3 key features tf2 would not be the powerhouse it is today.

spy was the first class i ever played i was influenced by leptir and i totally sucked with him but after 20 games of gettin owned i finally did well and i found my big earner along with my dead ringer. idk why but when i got my big earner i raped face and the big earner with the dead ringer is a better combo than invis watch cause you can fein death then stab dead ringer is back up.

The class I most disguise as is the Soldier because:

Heavy = Is slower than Spy

Scout = Is faster than Spy

Pyro = People keep asking me to Spy-check

Medic = "MEDIC! DOKTOR! CHARGE NAO, DOCTOR!"

Engineer = "PLAEC A DISPENSUR HEA!"

...and the other classes are also good for disguising...

the man of honor goes great with dead ringer

every time you uncloak you have 60% cloak or less

so every big earner backstab and a small ammo box allows you to activate the dead ringer agian..

and the enforcer disadvantage is a longer time to cloak

but the dead ringer cloaks instantly so it doesn't matter

I think it works well together, If you change that knife to a Kunai, I dont see the point, The dead ringer will save your life more then the Kunai. Using the big earner will utilize the dead ringer more, Simple as that

I love my spying, although i do feel enforcer is imbalanced because of the 20% damage bonus no downsides when using the dead ringer. Once valve sorts that out (adding cloak blinking to dead ringer with enforcer?) it will be balenced.

I just recently got good with the spy and now its my fav, my standard loadout is the Diamondback, Sapper(of course), Standard Knife/ Conniver's Kunai(I use standard knife most), and Dead Ringer/ Cloak and Dagger

I find thay sometimes vanilla spy is best, my standard loadout it stragne knife and strange revolver, casa nostra hat, and the cloak and dagger.
