PLAAF still depends on imported AL-31-F Russian engines. Indigenous engine on J10 is an utter failure. PLAAF thought that twin engines can work out on J11s but it failed too.

I don't think the US is better or worse than other countries. I certainly think that it is better or even the best at some things and bad/horrible at others. It also doesn't do me a lot of good financially to study any other languages, because I lived far away from anywhere I would use it in a job. I do it because I am interested in the rest of the world. As far as being proud, I am proud that the US has improved a great deal in racial issues even though there are continuing problems.
A lot of countries haven't came as far, Italy, Britain and France have all had race riots in the last few years. China is not yet a major power. No one can buy J-10 without the approval by The Central Military Commission. There has been no footage of J-10's extreme manoeuvres. They are done in unpopulated areas.
China is definitely a major power. Think about this. Wal-mart buys almost as much goods from the US as Russia does. It would be China's 9th largest trade partner. Wal-mart also is the largest non-governmental employer in the US. If the two nations went to War, China would automatically lose its ninth largest importer and the US would immediately lose millions of jobs. Russia might have a stronger naval power, but It doesn't have as strong of economy to support its military.
Russia also wouldn't sell many planes directly to the US, but the US buys them from other countries who have bought them. That is probably why the US doesn't sell F-22's. Since the J-10 is less expensive than the F-35 and Eurofighter, China could probably sell a lot of them to other countries.

I did address your comment and I addressed it appropriately. I addressed that you said "IRAQ BORN." If you were trying to show "Western double standards" (you didn't say that, but if there is one phrase I hear from Chinese people all the time it is "double standard" then I think you need to do better than that because the US is a lot more inclusive in its military than China is.

I don't think the US is better or worse than other countries. I certainly think that it is better or even the best at some things and bad/horrible at others. It also doesn't do me a lot of good financially to study any other languages, because I lived far away from anywhere I would use it in a job. I do it because I am interested in the rest of the world. As far as being proud, I am proud that the US has improved a great deal in racial issues even though there are continuing problems.

A lot of countries haven't came as far, Italy, Britain and France have all had race riots in the last few years. Other countries Like Japan are well known for racism, but have a homogenous society so that race is not a domestic issue (outside of the Ainu)Community colleges are easily accessible to people even if they are poor and didn't get good grades in school, they can work and go to school as I have done many times.

And some Europeans might also get a free University education, but their schools, in general, and except for the UK are ranked well below those in the US and there is still mandatory military service for men.
We also have less restrictive immigration laws than many countries and I had a roommate who was able to have a college education because he came to the US and then went to the military and got money for college from it.

I don't think Chinese people are dumb, but I think a lot of Chinese would like to believe a lot of things without proof. I have looked at a lot of J-10 videos, but I can't find it doing a lot of what people say it can. I very strongly doubt the wings would fall off, but no one has really shown they wouldn't either.

Because of the teachings of The Art of War, Chinese military rarely show the public what its machines are capable of. But Outsider with sufficient knowledge can take a reasonable guess. Also, some people working in the Chinese defense industry may some times get too excited and leak information in a subtle way, with which we can arrive at some deductions.

The Art of War is one of those books that anyone interested in the military reads and I appreciate the thinking, but militaries now need to fund their aircraft by sales and they also want to intimidate potential threats and make citizens proud. That is why I think they would show off more if they are very confident.

Intimidation is not a good strategy to use at the moment. It will only cause a more resourceful adversary to come up with a better weapon in response and justify its increased defence spending, no?

Maybe,but I don't think any major power is willing to attack any other major power. There are nuclear weapons and interlinked trade/companies.I also think that since the J-10 is not China's newest jet and since someone has to practice the maneuvers to use them in battle anyway,that other countries' militaries probably have video of the maneuver if it has been done.The US always tries to buy Russian planes to see their capabilities. Maybe someone bought a J-10?

China is not yet a major power. No one can buy J-10 without the approval by The Central Military Commission. There has been no footage of J-10's extreme manoeuvres. They are done in unpopulated areas.

China is definitely a major power. Think about this. Wal-mart buys almost as much goods from the US as Russia does. It would be China's 9th largest trade partner. Wal-mart also is the largest non-governmental employer in the US. If the two nations went to War, China would automatically lose its ninth largest importer and the US would immediately lose millions of jobs. Russia might have a stronger naval power, but It doesn't have as strong of economy to support its military.

Russia also wouldn't sell many planes directly to the US, but the US buys them from other countries who have bought them. That is probably why the US doesn't sell F-22's. Since the J-10 is less expensive than the F-35 and Eurofighter, China could probably sell a lot of them to other countries.

They can water down engine. Besides, the point of requiring approval is to assess the likelihood of the technologies falling into hostile hands through a third party.

China is not yet a major power militarywise, and economywise. The US has too much force projection, all the bases around China, while China has none. Even if China could in the event of war give the US military a bleeding nose, so what, their infrascture remains unscathed and can quickly replenish attritions, whereas China loses this ability gradually. China may bomb the nations that are serving as bases for the US, but that's not a concern for Americans.

If there was a war though,it would cause a huge economic depression in the US and China.I think the economic crisis now is showing that.The size of the US economy actually will decrease in 2008 and China is only projected to grow at 5.4 percent next year even after growing at 11.6 percent last year.On top of this there are Nuclear weapons which I think would really scare everyone&Jet streams would carry radiation all over the world.The US&Russia can't handle guerillas. No one would attack China.

I just meant to give an example. With the guerrillas I mean that the US has tried to deal with them in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan with mixed results where the US just got bogged down. Russia had the same problem. I had wanted to say that China could possibly sell the J-10 to Brazil if it wasn't so closed about what it can and can't do. That is how we got WW2. That and the US and European countries let Germans suffer enough and felt enough shame that they turned to extremists to regain pride. The US should have put more planning, money and help into helping Iraq(not that I think they ever should have went there) and Afghanistan so that citizens could have had stability. Instead Bush only thought about fighting. And now he has lost the respect of the world and US and very badly damaged the reputation of the US.
