We have one of the cars. We just purchased last November. THANK YOU very much for posting this video! How wonderful to see maybe our car coming down the line! Thanks!!
Guess what! we were just there today. Right at this spot in the video is where you Now park the golf carts and right across the street is the bus Loop, I walked down the old track towards where the train in this video is coming, it's all covered up with dead trees and vines but you can still see the railroad ties in the ground. I pulled up one of the old ties from out of the ground to keep for myself. But I'm thinking about putting it on eBay.
Wow Ive never actually seen footage of this train. Some of the tracks and bridges are still there today. My grampa told me they got rid of the train because it kept derailing. And he knows, he was a railroad engineer and was actually hired by Disney back in the 70's to fix the magic kingdom train because it too kept derailing. However Disney decided to get rid of this tran rather than pay to fix it.
I to have never see the train til this and one other vid I just saw. disney use to tell us It was because everyone alway want to ride it and that cause problems . Cheap to use buses I haven't seen the tram ether anymore. they keep two train cars for years on the right when you go in wilderness . walt had a train at his house in his yard and gave the kids rides. IF we was alive??????? thay didn't even pave over the track till like 87-88

Good News Everyone! Someone bought the train engines and are currently restoring them!
Thoralmir 1 year ago
@Thoralmir They were purchased by the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society, a group that promotes and teaches about Walt Disney's love for trains.

Oh, MAN...I remember this ol' train! I still have my ticket stubs from 1977 somewhere! Those were the good old days at Disney.

It's no longer there, but it used to be in the Fort Wilderness campground in Walt Disney World.
