I Love Mushrooms!!! Crab meaT HUH???? That sounds a lil off setting for a mushroom.. I like the ones that taste like Dirt...makes me think I'm eating something good for me...hehe
Great vids here.. Thanks for the free education my friend!
I'm one of those dummies that would eat an Olive right off the tree... ;) mmmm....ech...croak.
You know what's funny, The mushroom that Super Mario eats to grow bigger, is a Toadstool isn't it? those mushrooms are poisonous, it won't make you grow bigger.
I went mushroom picking once when I was a teenager. Me and my buddies were picking magic mushrooms that grow during the months of September and October. I picked only what my buddy told me to pick, as at the time, I had no idea how to identify the good mushrooms from the poisonous ones, and we weren't gonna take any chances.
That was cool! I don't know much about mushrooms. I did eat a few that made me see funny things in high-school, but I was never in charge of the collecting.
You really have to be an expert to know what can be eaten, and what cannot be consumed as a meal... I wouldn't know the difference, thanks for the amazing info!! :-)
@AtheistAussie Well it refers to the imperfect fungus which infects the Russula; although neither are plants. Fungus are more like us actually. I am not sure what the Latin on this means to be honest.
@AtheistAussie There is a "lactarius" genus of mushrooms that bleed a white milk. I think their common name is milk-caps. There is actually one species in that genus called "Lactarius deliciosus" and you can probably figure why.
@Canonpixmalogitechko Oh now I get it. Yes this inperfect fungus often infects the Lactarius; although around here I have never found it on that type. The Russla is not a Lactarius. They are up now; I will see if I can film some and show the "Milk". Thanks for clearing that up.
@F00MF The King Bolet is yummy. It grows in the forest here. I am not sure if they cultivate the King Bolet or not. I think the Bolet has a relationship with some tree.
That was pretty cool. Maybe you should show people the bad mushrooms too so they know not to go out and grab random mushrooms and eat them.. that they need to research a little first. I'm in an area that has mushrooms that can kill you, but I'm in South America, so I hope people wouldn't go to a foreign country and pick random mushrooms.
@CraniumOnEmpty I'm just messing with you. :) We do have poisonous Mushrooms; a few that will kill you. Humans tend to make Mushrooms into villains; when actually very few will cause you harm. Mushrooms decompose for us, they recycle the forest; they produce food, medicine, and recreation. ;) Around here where I live; you have to fight to get someone to eat a Mushroom. They think they are all poisonous.
@SnowWalkerOne I know they are not all poisonous. The biggest problem is basically what you just said, people being uneducated. There are stories of people grabbing random, poisonous mushrooms, sticking them in their mouth, and not getting medical help afterward which leads to their death because they didn't bother to get information first. Those are rare, but that's what people remember. It's not just mushrooms though. There are other plants too. People just need to be educated. You do that.
@CraniumOnEmpty Thanks, although I suppose I should make a point of establishing that some of these guys can kill you; and not in a pleasant way either. :) The mushrooms are just coming out around here; so I will plan on making a few more videos before the snow hits.
@SnowWalkerOne Cool. Maybe you've already done one, but I'd like to see you make a dish with one too. It might be too boring for some, but I guess I got into too many cooking shows.
thought so...Maine. So you work in the state forest service?
I have always wanted to learn about edibility. Make more of these vids!!
The limited number of species available in stores,in the US pales relative to Italy has frustrated me for yrs. In US one has added some Asian species in recent decades, but the Europeans know how to eat! 5*
Some fungi are some of the fastest things on earth.
"Spores are launched at maximum speeds of 25 meters per second–impressive for a microscopic cell–corresponding to accelerations of 180,000 g. In terms of acceleration, these are the fastest flights in nature."
Nice Video Mr. Snowwalker ! really enjoied this one, damn id really love to just go to the forest and pick my own food, i guess ill have to educate myself a little bit about these things.
thanks,. cool video man..

The 17 year old French girl attempted suicide before and was not taking any mushrooms at the time of death.
So now all mindliberating mushrooms are banned from selling.
On the plus,It created a rise of selling of the eatable ones.
No pastasauce without some.

Holland,Amsterdam, march 2007.A French toerist dies after jumping of a bridge, subposibly all mushroomed up.
After that the goverment banned all legal sellingpoints of mushrooms.
Holland has a unique way of handling the softdrugs as everybody knows.
Its legal to carry on your person a max of 5 Gr of marihuana. 4 real.yeah i know.
Selling is legal at socalled coffeeshops.but the supply of them is still a ilegal curcuit.
By legalizing the sellingpionts they managed to have supervision over it.

""Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth"" Genesis 1:29
Are mushrooms PLANTS, and do they produce SEED?
If not...then God didn't give us mushrooms to eat. So who did? Satan the Devil?

Cool video Snow :)
Mushrooms are a very interesting life form in the tree of life.
For me the most fascinating is the slime mold: it is somewhere between vegetal, animal and mushroom. Fas-ci-na-ting.
