  • always brings a calm heart ! Love this song !!

  • joe hisaishi is one the greatest!!!!

  • where did you find the sheet music?

  • Beautiful piano playing, Princess Mononoke is a classic.

  • Not quite played right :) But still sounds beautiful, albeit odd with a Db replacing that huge feeling on the Bbm in the first section.

  • 私はこの歌を愛する!!!!!<3

  • :)

  • This just brings back such amazing memories....

  • I will always remember when he said" You're so beautiful..."

  • an eventful life that is just ending will never reach out and grasp the future of your existence. create a ladder and then throw it aside and then jump to your destination. never cease in your attempts to fly little birds of life. keep fluttering to one existence to another, always touching the lives of many but only noticed by a few. never ceasing, never slowing what step forward can we make if we won't try. keep going to a brighter future and always attempt to brighten a loved ones night. bye.

  • Love!

  • beautiful ;( very beautiful

  • Don't understand why some peopels just can't do anything else than hate. I mean... why does someone hate this? Tell me a Reason, Don't Like Button!

  • lovely ~ ! .

  • 11 people don't know what music means

  • i gotta write an essay about this in environmental science

  • Message:

People should stop listening to Justin Bieber and listen to REAL music!! :D Thumbs up if you agree. 83

  • @vikimik1 :D

  • I wanna learn the piano

  • @cutie235100 well, im a pianist, and i would like to give you this council. TAKE YOUR TIME! : not everybody are nerds and can fastly learn things. playing the piano its a proces of asimilation of new posibilities of movements and coordination, its like learing a new lenguage, so, be PACEFUL with YOURSELF! and good luck!

  • @ItsTheDJadrian yup I agree :) and thx ^_^

  • I love the characters in this movie. The main characters are so cool, and the antagonists are my favorite antagonists of any anime/movies!

  • i can't imagine, that some people don't like such wonderful music :'(

i love this one, and at the moment i use it as lullaby =)

  • This music brings out the poet in everyone.

  • this film is based on muromati period(1338~1573)in japan. japan is a rainy country. it was necessary to destroy the forest to make iron. forests are healed by rains. however, steel manufacture had various problems like air pollution and the deforestation to make a fire. It was coexistence of nature and human society. this thing is one of themes of The Princess Mononoke

  • When I listen to this song, the first image that comes to mind is a spring meadow, with flowers and grass as far as the eye can see. I watched this movie when I was little, and just recently watched it again. I still love it and have learned to appreciate life's amenities with this song. This movie and this song brings a new aspect on human's actions toward the environment and what can be done to set things right to change the environment to one that is shown in this song. Amazing movie & song!

  • Something is weird.. LOL

  • I can't find any words to explain how much I love this song.

  • This is my deathbed song.

  • @cHeEzMaN1 Deathbed. This song will play in my head when I have my kids and husband playing in the front yard and I realize how much God has blessed me. Despite all the hard times, I've made it through.

  • this theme actually reminds me somewhat of ano natsu he/inochi no namae from spirited away - got to love hisaishi

  • @Infernitar i know y its 0:22 hmm?

  • @ichai1 yeah that's the bit!

I love how he can blend so many themes into a single bit of music. For instance, this is bright enough to symbolise the harmonious future of 'Iron'town and the forest, yet still plaintive enough to remind you of the cost that was paid to get there. Flamers gonna flame, but Hisaishi is a genius with music.

  • @Infernitar Tottaly agreed!

  • i love this piece so much i think Mononoke and Nausicaa r my fav of Miyazaki^^ i want to see everything hes ever done:)

  • I wanna learn how to play the piano and violin because of princess mononoke XD I love this movie I always feel like crying at the end then the credits start and I hear the music ;'l

  • All I hear at the end is the little shake of the kodama's head.

  • This makes me want another plate of dumplings and General Tso's chicken from the buffett.

  • I hate it when people write, "7 people have no sense of music" & such. Then when I look at the dislikes, THERE'S EVEN MORE! D; People can be so mean ; ;

  • this is one of my favorite pieces of music of all time

  • 10 people were so overcome by how beautiful this song was that they missed the like button cuz they had so many tears in their eyes. :)

  • 10 people are, well just too frustrated to enjoy the beauty of this song

  • Unlike other environmental movies, this doesn't just promote being environmentally friendly and say "Cities and machines are bad", it has a deep message about coexisting in nature. There is a balance between innovation and tradition. There are no antagonists, there are pros and cons on both sides. Ashitaka, in the end, learns to live with both the forest and civilization. The humans learn to not destroy nature for their own benefit and the animals learn to be more tolerant and trusting.

  • @marvelgirlmarvel What a beautiful story... Yet so true.

  • @R2rGangstaFC Uhhhhhhhh

  • @marvelgirlmarvel lots of Ghiblis films share that meaning. It really is quite beautiful.

  • @marvelgirlmarvel It also says that if you fuck with nature, Gods will fuck with you...

  • @WhatsCS yeah, that too!

  • @marvelgirlmarvel wow! Perfectly put. Unlike other movies that strictly take one side (like Avatar), I love how Princess Mononoke finds that balance between both civilization and nature

  • @marvelgirlmarvel as said in wikipedia douchebag

  • @marvelgirlmarvel This is a universal story about siding with both sides and saving our beautiful mother nature!!!

  • 10 people have no taste in music :P

  • san's hot

  • if you watch the making of mononoke hime you will understand every aspect better.

  • those 9 peoples are totally deaf

  • i effin love princess mononoke!!!

  • This sone made me cry when I first heard it <3

  • I can never ever get tired of watching this movie. Plot and music are simply superb.

  • @Pwinarto totally agree.

  • 9 people got there life taken by the forest spirit :O

  • the vocal version is awe inspiring

  • How can people not love this? It is a beautiful and moving song, heck anything from Joe Hisaishi is amazing!!

  • This song has no 4:01 :0 anyways its fucking beautiful anyways

  • i would of love horowitz Interpretation of this

  • dammm he is good

  • Just watched the movie , it's terribly awesome!

  • This is the most beautiful thing i can hear :'')

  • It's time for us to live

  • @kingjamie2 pfffffffttttt.... who cares what you think about joe hisaishi's music? i know i dont

  • @xUrsusxXX

People who don't care usually don't go out of their way to tell other people that they don't care. But thanks for playing anyway, kiddo.

  • @kingjamie2 And people who think that a music piece like this is awful should go listen to more justin bieber and stop commenting on vids like these then. But thanks for playing anyway, gramps.

  • @xUrsusxXX

Calling me "gramps" and telling me to listen to Justin Bieber in the same sentence? Good one.

  • @kingjamie2 Yes, it was good. Now go away.

  • @kingjamie2 this music is great. i love it. you have made me sad, and offended me :'( xDD nahh but seriously, its your opinion, im not against it. that other person replying to your comment was acting a little childish though xD but i love this

  • @kingjamie2 u r awful, no one cares what u think... just go away! ..

  • @D4vidP0c4r

    Go cry some more.

  • @kingjamie2 LOL.. just go away.. u can think what u want but dont say it ... fuck u

  • @kingjamie2 Just shut the fuck up and fuck off too :)

  • @kingjamie2 That's mean... I think he did a nice job.

  • :'( :'( :'(

  • I like the original version better.

  • i love this song, its one of my favorites, its relaxing

  • das lied ist wunderschön

  • i can imagine Ashtika & San living happily ever fater....together when i listen to this.

  • @Mirdala haha fater :P

  • ich liebe den film und das lied ist einfach zu geil

  • my favorite Miyazaki movie, liked it better than spirited away

  • favorite movie :)

  • 7 People have no sense of hearing at all

  • @dragonforce163100 it increased to 9 people now

  • @dragonforce163100 now iit's nine. Those assholes...

  • @dragonforce163100

    Make that 10

  • @dragonforce163100 make that 10 people :P

  • @dragonforce163100 Make that 10 ppl have no hearing

  • @dragonforce163100 Or you have no sense of hearing. . . I would not click dislike on this, but the performer definately made errors. Some of them were quite large mistakes.

  • @PianoKittyTree that is bad faith...

  • Some sections of this score are wrong.

  • You know what I love about this movie? Unlike other environmentally healthy movies, it doesn't just say, "Industrialism is bad, nature is better, technological innovations are terrible." This movie shows balance between industrialism and nature. Both have their pros and cons. Neither are good, nor bad. The only truly good and pure character is Ashitaka, because he was neutral and he belonged on both sides

  • i love this movie i watch it every weekend an im trying to learn the piano after i do i promise ill make a toutural for the piano and maybe the violen for The legend of Ashitaka :) this is pure art and beautiful doesnt even discribe it

  • @Soaruh

Wrong Kiba from Naruto reminds you of San.

  • I recently watched this beautiful movie and I felt like this 4 year old child again. I remembered being scared to hell as I saw all the blood and the demon-liquid thingie, but I loved this film and still do.

  • ahhh its songs like these that make me desperately wish i could play the piano

  • where did you get that score?

  • i watched this show 4 times and i still cry

    :')

  • <3~Sigh~ I wish I had a lifelong soulmate to be with while this theme plays ~Sigh~<3

  • Don't do a sequel. Disney does that with some of their movies.

Keep the films the way they are and let the people who watch them imagine what happens next. When you do that, it adds more to the beauty and imagination!

A sequel just will never fit with Ghibli, and I feel that's a good thing...

  • @Erniethecatisawesom yea that's what i thought it doesn't need a sequel it's perfect the way it is. a masterpiece.

  • @Worsett Just what I was gonna say.

  • This song is so beautiful. I don't want to waste my time thinking of why people would dislike this masterpiece.

  • From one pianist to another. . . beautiful.

  • sheet music?

  • @Yuukikuran888 Try Josh's anime sheet music collection (type into google).

  • @Googlyboog ty

  • @whitestkidevr i agree with you there should be a sequel about Ashitaka and San's love and rebuilding the town and forest and protecting it. that would be perfect!

  • one word : Amazing. Another masterchef by M. Hisaishi. Thank you.

  • best animated movie of all time..........

    love the music and direction

  • ..For some reason bits of this song remind me of the Spirited Away theme.. then again this is older than Spirited Away so.. Who knows

  • anyone got sheet music for this? :)

  • sounds kinda like Final Fantasy 7 :)

  • "Never. He's life itself. He's here, right now, trying to tell us something. That it's time for both of us to live."

  • where can i get the sheet for this?

  • this contains a lot of wrong notes

  • @spoohooo ...What? Elaborate how a composer could play "wrong" notes in his own composition. He uses dissonance at points but that doesn't equate to wrong notes and you know very little about music if you think it does.

  • @Bluesub6 nonono I meant whoever played it in this clip. Listen carefully, it's different from the original version. I have perfect pitch and can immediately pick out exactly which notes are wrong. The beginning of this video evening contains a bit of the music score, and the eight note of the first bar is already wrong - it should be a B flat, and is played a B flat even in other clips of the same music as well, but whoever played the piece here is playing an A flat

  • @spoohooo sorry typo - *even not evening

  • @Bluesub6 [cont'd] and just that small bit made a huge difference, at least to me. Not to mention the other wrong notes, esp. in the left hand. It's a beautiful piece, I've listened to it many times, but this clip really bothers me since all the wrong notes/chords alter the mood/feeling of the piece quite a bit

  • Very sad movie in the end. I have never thought an animation can be so moving. What a great piece of music for the movie.

  • can some one tell me where i can download the piano notes for that song?

    It is joust beautiful :D

  • Joe Hisaishi is legendary. I love all the Studio Ghibli music.

  • the pedals are held a bit too long, but overall great job

  • I have this album

  • BTW a girl who gave him a dagger of jewel is not his little sister but his fiancee. Actually, she called him "brother" but Miyazaki said that it was a custom in that era.

  • Just magic

  • am i the only one who thinks that the movies avatar and princess mononoke have a lot in common ?

  • @shadowspsp : You're right, Avatar is just the "future version" of Mononoke.

  • I'm learning this on the piano now, beautiful song <3

  • I like this version

  • Am I the only one who is sad about the fact that Ashitaka will never see His little Sister Kaya ( spelling??) again?

  • @PeterPan7710 I was really sad too. It also made me really sad that he gave his sister's gift to him away. I know it was a sign of love and whatever, but if I was his sister, I would be a little hurt.

  • @depidoGG

I know right!? TT^TT meanie Ashi... Lol But I still love that movie

  • Comment removed

  • I love this song, and now I hum it and Mononoke Hime without even thinking, I'm driving my parents mad! :)

  • Can anyone help me out? I've been trying to learn this song and I have found myself stuck on the 4th stanza on the first page :P. I can't figure out what's going on in the left hand. I can read the right hand notes very well but I'm not very good with the left hand ones when it gets very low. Thanks in advance.

  • he messed up at 54-57. Unlike 30-34, it's supposed to go down so that it leads into the next part.

  • miyazaki never does sequels. it'better cause sequels most of the time sucks but i realy want to know about sprited aways if chihiro still have met haku in human form

  • good piano play

  • This piece is one of my favorite pieces of music. I love heavy metal and rock (not that I'm knocking metal, of course), but when it comes to calming music, you can't beat this piece.

  • Can you send me SCORES? PLZZZ biohazard_64 hotmail

    THANK TOU!!!

  • The movie has something about it, everytime i watch it i feel happy(':

it gives me a nostalgic sense whenever i hear the music from it, i completely love hayao miyazaki's movies<3 they really inspire me :P many of my friends think im weird because i listen to this type of music instead of hip-hop and rap :l i just say i like music with emotions, music which doesn't make me feel empty when it finishes ;D it makes me feel like im in a dream for that length of time(': ...AIEEEEEEEEEEE<33333

  • awesome movie!

  • I think "Nature of god" is more suitable name of this song. I'm not ecologist but every time when I hear this song, I feel Mother Nature...

  • This is song can reach to your heart.

  • amazing!! favorite anime w/ an amazing piece being played = godliness

  • *Favorites video*

  • This is absolutely beautiful, the film version brings tears to my eyes sometimes~ There's always something about it. :D <3

  • I remember this scene perfectly. After all of the chaos, the trees and flowers rebloom in front of ashitaka and san and this music plays. Absolutely beautiful.

  • where do you find the score?

  • @animania1994
