can you hep me with those flight planning resources because i often fly in american airspace i am yet to fly the NAT track to european airspace, but anyway i have no idea where to get winds aloft data so i can take the best route and fly the right altitude so no crazy headwind comes and eat up my fuel and also increase my ETA
I wouldn't say I know the 65 in and out, I simply try hard and add every experience to my knowledge.
One thing that was hard about this event is the feeder sector is on an identical frequency to what mine was (124.5 and 124.05) and there were a lot of people ending up on the wrong frequency for a critical amount of time. This event usually falls apart around the time when a lot of pilots get into the 'say again' loop with controllers etc. Once the comms break down the event becomes a pain.
I'm the first controller this guy talks to, and I remember this day very well.
If you're interested when 8MC was checking on I was coordinating a VFR release with TWR. At about 1:25
the UAL ahead is about 7nm up with matched speed but he needed to slow for entry to final airspace which was being given to make final tighter. But it worked.
I almost pulled the poster (UAL935) due to the guy with the Echo Sierra callsign turning direct VTU on the VTU5 departure and busting his altitude.
Beleive it or not, but I made that route out on my own. I got real world routes from a real world route database and couple of people I know that has access to real world routes, and pretty much merged them together. I didnt use a standard route because the winds were strong and needed a way out of the winds. I just used my head, enroute charts, ENR rules such as different RVSM restrictions, and my knowledge to make the route. If your looking for a ok route database take a look at vroute.
Flightaware is only good in america. They have valid routes out of america, but they are not the real time routes. So sometimes, youll get routes going right into headwinds, which is not good.
Actually they put it in like a year and a half ago. Its called the GRP. Global Rating Policy. Everyeon needs to get to a certain level before they can even log onto the network.
Excuse me, you inane ass, I pulled my comments because I thought they were inappropriate, not due to the fact I still think they're true, no matter how much IFR time you have, but because they weren't polite. Which apparently didn't stop you.
No one gives a shit how much time you have, however close to whatever ratings you think you have. VATSIM is a learning environment where everyone can learn about the hobby, and not have to worry about some know-it-all ripping how pathetic they all are.
You think you can do better, join the network, as a pilot's learning never ends, even in an environment like ours. Your comments serve no purpose but to stroke your own ego, which is what I take offense to.
I know its been a while but theres people I know for sure that knows a whole lot more of aviation than you do on vatsim and when you come out and talk about vatsim as a whole you take on the whole crowd and Im part of it... And I wouldnt be suprised if I knew more about avitation than you do, that first atc is amazing, he knows the 7110.65 from top to bottom. So know who you comment about next time. Just cause you fly in real life dont mean your better. Cause you aint the only one that does.
No he told me to descend and maintain then reduce speed to 210.
According to the 7110.65 as an ATC you cant give a speed adjustment of more than + or - 10 knots and a descend at the same time. So he would either tell me to reduce speed to 210 then descend and maintain 5000 or descend and maintain 5000 then reduce to 210 knots and thats what happened and thats what I did.
Its the sound that Squawkbox makes before every transmission. I forgot to take it out, I just reinstalled flight sim just prior to the flight and didnt remember to take that beep sound off. But its off now lol.
it all depends where you go fly. Different places have different standards of ATC. Sometimes people are there to train and they need rela experience so you will get bad atc once in a while its just how people get better.
