  • @ROBOTCHICKEN63. I couldn't disagree with you more. Sure - they're great skits, but IMHO there's tons more better ones. (btw - somehow utube got all wonky on my jealouscardinal account, hence the new 666uberstud666 one, in case you're wondering about the confusion.) Another awesome little gem: "How To Do It".

  • whoa! didn't expect all those thumbs up for what I thought was a pretty obvious observation! Impossible to come up with a top three for these gods, however, if I had a gun to my head: the Most Awful Family in Britain Competition (sponsored, of course, by Heart-Attacko Margarine), Cleese consulting Chapman the mortician about what to so with C's dead mother (awesomely sick), and Chapman's and Cleveland's romantic evening ruined by uninvited creeps like Idle's nudge-nudge dude and BRIAN EQUATOR!

  • i don't know how john cleese can keep a straight face when he's walking like that. lol

  • The Ministry Of Silly Walks...it's so amazing my eyes are bleeding!

  • 5:38 THE SCREAM MADE ME CUM !!!

  • lol, i wasnt expecting doom at the end of that

  • I could be arguing in my spare time.

    Classic xD

  • No comedy like that these days, guys just stand on stage and insult stuff to be funny nowadays.

  • i agree with jealouscardinal, just because everyone''s seen these sketches a billion times doesn't mean they're the best...

  • If I remember my Meaning of Life bonus features correctly....ehphm "100% more John Cleese and 100% less other Pythons!"

  • odd...all of these skits have John Cleese in an important role!

  • the bird sketch wasnt even close to being funny at all...jus sayin

  • @njs119 cool story bro....

  • HELLO, POLLY!!!!

  • I love the self defence against fresh fruit!

  • lol

  • Now thats what I call a dead parrot

  • "it's a beautiful bird lovely plumage!"

  • if i tried to make a best of monty python video, it'd be hours long

  • notice how micheal palin never gets any praise for the parrot sketch, oh well, i love this show

  • These guys are the comody gods! I just love them! I wanna watch all of them! YAY!!!! I LOVE MONTY PYTHON!

  • Good song at the end.

  • notice how all of them had John Cleese in them?

  • my favourite is "how not to be seen"

  • BAAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

  • Someone should do the best sketch for each member... John Cleese "Ministry of Silly Walks", Graham Chapman "Flying Lessons", Eric Idle "Nudge Nudge", Terry Jones "Spam", Michael Palin "Lumberjack Song", Terry Gilliam "The House-Hunters"

  • lol. I love the "spam" sketch

  • should be entitled "Monty Python - The Most Popular!"

    BIG difference.

  • @jealouscardinal Everyone has their own favourites.

  • @jealouscardinal I think these are 3 of the best scenes but it's just that we've seen them too many times

  • Great skits. And the Gorillaz at the end was a nice surprise, as well : D

  • i agree with mccsa200. i mean dont get me wrong i Love michael palin & john cleese! but you need to get more sketches with the other python cast .cuz there ALL awesome & amazing.

  • He's pining for the Fjords......LOL

  • nothing fake about it when you're watching monty python

  • the laughter that plays all the time is so annying, seriously

  • I actually think they play some of them in front of a live audience. I was looking at one about eating corpses, and the audience came in and stopped them (maybe BBC censors?)

  • They do play alot infront of an audience. they only ones they didnt were shot outside etc then showed to the audience for real laughtor so its all real. i think the sketch your after is the 'undertaker sketch' in the ep 'royal episode 13'. cant remember what number ep it is tho

  • uuh, where can i watch this? sounds like one i never saw before

  • @antibiszumtod if you have regular cable i sometimes comes on the BBC channle

  • I love the crazy bitches laugh at 5:40.

  • i know.

    XD

  • monty python is awesome!!!

  • so is the parrot dead

  • Is the parrot dead? He f#$@ing snuffed it!!!

  • It moved though.

  • I didn't laugh with the silly walk sketch... Is that bad? Perhaps is because I'm Mexican and I don't get the British humour... Anyway I loved the arguing session hehehe...

  • i belive its a parody of what the government spends tax-payers' dollars on.

  • John Cleese gets annoyed that people rate that sketch as one of MP's best coz it was meant to be just total nonsense

  • I notice that all of these just involve Michael Palin and John Cleese - I love that combination!

These are three of my favorites too!

The only one I count as a favorite that ISN'T here is The Spanish Inquisition, which "NOBODY expects!"

  • these are definately the among the best- my all time favourite has to be the 'Woody Words' sketch though!

  • This is an EX-parrot!

  • This sketch was written by Cleese and Chapman...Chapman was so terribly proud of it that it even got recited at his funeral^^

  • 'there it moved' lol

  • sorry i have a cold

  • It´s interesting that the best sketches are usually made by Palin and Cleese

  • most of these sketches are written by John Cleese i think

  • his name is John Cleese

  • look at the eyes of the customer! hes totally high! his eyes are red!

  • great vid but how can you say "the best of" ? They made tons of sketches, films and songs. A best of would be at least 5 hours long ;o)

  • these are flying circus.

I don't think it would take 5 hours but yes definitely longer than 15 minutes

  • ...Sean Cleese?

  • some of the best!

  • late parot :)))):))) LOL!

  • monty python is brilliant!!! I love these guys!!! anyone who doesn't get the humor, no offence to you, but you haven't lived!!! they are the gods of comedy!!!!

  • Agreed :D they're the best of the best

  • Monthy Pythons are te best mate!

  • great mix, nice edits.

  • Good work

  • more like best of john cleese. good compilation though

  • Hahaha John Cleese and Michael Palin as well...

  • you did - i didn't hilaaaaarious! ex parrot laaawl

  • helluuuuu pollyyyyy!

  • "Look, I took the liberty of examining that parrot, and I discovered that the only reason that it had been sitting on its perch in the first place was that it'd been nailed there."

    ROFL!!!

  • Interesting; all three sketches directly star John Cleese and Michael Palin.

  • because john cleese is a comedy legend haha

  • listen mate you must be a yank ive got no idea what you just said about UHF and WLVI, yes hes had failed marriages but who cares, by many people hes considered a comical legend and i stick by that theory. People have their own opinions, got to respect that so your more then welcome to think that benny hill is funnier, its all about taste.

  • dude alot of people have marriage problems, it doesnt make someone fucked up, and as he said hes a fuckin hilarious comedic master, sean cleese is great, and if you are going to diss him im gonna have to ask you to step outside (fish license reference)

  • The ministry of silly walks seems like a much more efficient and well run organization compared to most government programs.

  • This is a late parot..

    Hillarious

  • it has ceased to be!! it should be pushing up the daisys!!

  • NO THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!

  • English humor BRILIANT

  • FUK YOU PYTHON RULES

  • fjord

  • Yeah. Great brit comedy also watch the Secret Policeman's Ball mostly funny and directed by John Cleese

  • "Gorillaz" being anywhere associated with the God that is Monty Python is an abomination of mankind ... albeit these three sketches are classic, even though absolutely everyone who has seen MP has seen these three

  • love it

  • timeless!!!

  • loved all of it, love gorillaz.. mf doom is great in that song. WELL DONE!!

  • the song at the end is shit

  • sure is

  • "It's not pining, it's passed on.

    It's a STIFF!" Lol

  • 1. The Dead Parrot Sketch

    2. The Ministry Of Silly Walks

    3. The Argument Clinic

    I would've also included:

    - Nudge, Nudge

    - The Spanish Inquisition

    - The Funniest Joke In The World

    LONG LIVE MONTY PYTHON!

  • i agree with you

  • I must be the only person in the country who doesn't get the silly walk sketches. I just don't find them funny, what am I meant to be laughing at?

  • I guess you are supposed to laugh at the silly walks, lol. Also, this was a satire on the new ministries that the government at that time had invented, and which were seen as superfluous by people.

  • oh shut up

your obviously dont get classic humor

thAT sketch is funny as fuck.

  • People like different types of humour.

  • yeah but how can you not laugh at the silly walks?

  • I don't know. I prefer talking jokes over visual jokes.

  • this is an EX parrot!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • this parrotis X! pushin dasies

  • It's not "nigger" humor. It's Gorillaz. Pick up the album Demon Day and find out. By the way...funny vid!

  • I love that all these are Cleese/Palin sketches. Those two are great together.

  • May as well have been "Best of John Cleese" all great sketches. These sketches are legendary.

  • Poor Polly =(

  • "It's run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible!" HAHAHA! Priceless humor!

  • ...this is an ex....parrot!

  • That was hilarious!!!!!

  • YA, gorillaz rock. Of course monty python kicks maaaaaajor ass!!!!

  • "this is a LATE parrot!"

"if you hadn't nailed it to the perch, it would be pushing up the daisies!"

    these men are amazing XD

  • If youv'e noticed, every sketch is between Michael and John. Very natural comedic chemistry between those two.

  • I love monty python. They are so fucking hilarious

  • -It's bleeding demised!

    -No it isn't, it's pining!

    XD

  • I love the part around 5:38

    Audience is going mental! :D

  • Good choices. I can't believe Ministry of Silly Walks wasnt in 'And Now For Something Completely Different'

  • go watch "meet the spartans" you will like it.

  • Awesome picks! Silly Walks absolutely hilarious! Thank u for creating this collage of hilarity!

  • these r all the best. lmao.

  • The young John Cleese looks like Trevor Moore.

  • not at all but WKUK are still awesome

  • the dead parrot sketch is the best sketch ever

  • "He's like the only funny brit"? You do realise there were 6 of them, right?

  • ... Okay. There are six members in of Monty Python, he doesn't actually exist, he's a group.

Also, there's a lot of great British comedy. I mean, a LOT.

  • please, please say you were trying to provoke attention. Because Monty Python is a group of people consiting of John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Terry Jones, Micheal Palin, Eric Idle and Terry Gillium.

  • yea and Douglas Adams also wrote some scripts for Monty Python 4 a short while too (:

  • Really, I knew he wrote for Doctor who but I didn't know he did Python.

  • i dont liek that song.

  • fantastic. i'm not gonna bother saying which sketches should or shouldnt be included in "the best" since all monty python is gold anyway. funniest show ever made

  • Hellooo pooty

    their it moved

no that was u hittin it

  • "ive had enough of this"

    "no you havent"

    "Oh shut up!" XDDD

  • three clips? and just the obvious ones... these aren't what you consider 'best of,' they're the most popular.

and yeah, the credits are kind of silly.

  • Good video, but the credits ruined the whole thing.

  • def my fav. i love all of them

    always cheers me up hehe

  • Mike is adorable;//

    *fangirl squeAl*

  • My computer is freezing. So I couldn't watch this. :)

  • you have to be joking right?

  • Ummm... no...

  • idiot

  • if you think monty python is the worst show ever, then why were you at this page watching it?

  • I stumbled upon it just like you can stumble upon anything on here... watch enough videos and eventually you'll be linked to one you don't like... I came to the page to test my theory on the show... and I was right!

  • Clearly you don't know shit about brittish comedy
