my dad went to this museum when he was in CO last summer. got some great shots of the rio grande southern's flock of galloppin geese and a nice shot of a rotary snow plow. nice video.
Geogretown Loop Inc still owns, but they only operate the Royal Gorge, not the Loop. All their loop equipment is now at the railroad museum, which is nice for us because we get to use it.
I have to say, compared to 346, or 40, Shay 12 is actually quite comfortable. We managed to fit about 7 people in the cab at the weekend, for a ride from switching back to the roundhouse, although to be fair Phil was hanging out the engineers side.
Was a great event, and she is much louder in person.
Every time I have gone there they have been running counter-clockwise. It looks like you were there on a nice day with a little snow on the ground and some color in the trees.
Those Shays look comfortable to run too. They aren't all that loud though.
I remember I had shay #12 when I rode the Georgetown Loop back in 2003. Ran VERY well, and here it looks great and very smooth-running.

Awesome shots! I rode behind #12 back when she was at the Georgetown Loop. Is she now owned by the Colorado Railroad Museum or just stored there?
