I have one in the same color, mine is a '98 as well. DeVille d'Elegance, 84k miles and clean as can be. Caddies don't die as long as you keep up with maintenance.
great caddy im a tOTAL northstar fan to. BEST car ever that if you get another caddy dont get the bigg boat ! get the sporty seville STS!!! amazing ride fast smaller than the big boat ones and 2 door!! i had a 97 STS PEARL WHITE northstar bose sunroof factory amazing caddy chrome wheels with the gold trim package ,white leather all options available all the way down to the car phone in the arm rest. digital dash, i payed about 7k only had 69k miles. sounded unreal, i did k&n like you &exaust!
I am getting a 98 gold Cadillac DeVille its 4 door for free my uncles mom die and ask if i wanted I definetly said yes right a way it will be my first car as no damage only 30,000 some odd miles on it not bad for a first car.
dam i miss this car. At least i sold it to a good shipmate. In return I bought a '05 chevy trailblazer. ive had this for a couple of years. now i want a cadillac again.
as far as the styling goes, this generation is my favorite. i'm thinking about getting one around 60 thousand miles. just curious, have you ever had any problems with this model? mechanical and electrical. thanks.
yea i know...late response. from what i remember i didnt have any mechanical problems. i changed the oil every 3000 miles. i had it for about 3 years before selling it. Electrically? thats a different story. it was sold to me electrically sound but after two years of driving it up and down the east coast US i finally started to get engine start lock out. probably due to starter switch going out after all those years. i'd buy another one as long as it was pearl white.
hey dude we got the same 1998 cadillac deville but i wanted to ask you there is 2 buttons in the glove box1 called trac off -on and the other 1 called valet can you tell me what they do
valet locks out the trunk release button from operating so only the key will work. somewhat of a theft deterrent to get your expensive stuff from back there. trac off/on is your tractioncontrol off or on button. i used that on and off throughout the winter and summer seasons. assuming you dont know what traction control is.....it regulates the power supplied to the wheels of a vehicle.
thats too bad, i woulda loved to hear what dynomax sounded on a northstar motor,, but ya escalades are nice, but over rated. if you want something with more power, i spent 15g's canadian total to buy & do my baby up, & i eat mustangs for breakfast:) if you end up buying anouther deville or sts ect. let me know, i'll tell you the right mods to make, to have the meanest caddy around dude.
dynomax? i've never heard them on a caddy before, would love to see some more video, but with audio, lol, anyways, check my beast out!($300 a muffler for mine)
sorry but i dont have any more video of it. this is because i sold it a few months ago without having a farewell video of it. im definitly get a cadillac in the near future. i currently have a chevy trailblazer and unhappy with it. not enough power for my taste. escalade? maybe. just dreaming.
Affirmative....this video was taken before i had two mufflers put on it because i put a sticker on the right rear window above the k&n filter sticker. the mufflers were just two mufflers(dynomax turbo mufflers) at autozone store. they sounded really good.

works best during heavy rain or winter ice/snow.
