I used to sing this song too. I was taught in my music school. However, I can't sing it any more, not since my first love's feeling towards me are no longer the same. I end up bursting into tears every time I try to sing this. I don't know why people talk wonders about love. Love is about pain and unbearable heart ache. You have a very good singing voice, but I don't think that it is suited for this song. This is a very big belter song, and I don't think you have a belter voice. That is probably why it was so hard to learn this song. I want to point out again that you do have a very beautiful voice, I just don't think it is suited for belting.

I just listened to you do "Here we Are" and I wanted to marry you every time you hit a low note (Gloria is a nice first alto) and I also listened to you do "Danny Boy" and hit much higher notes than you do in "On My Own" and you knocked it out of the park. You've got a great four octave range. On the high and low notes, let it happen, even if it's a double forte, and on your mid-range, make it happen (i.e., don't get lazy, don't coast).

The only thing I would alter in this high note is the vowel only been pretend-ea- ng to more pretend-i-ng. I might get bashed for my point of view but I'm gonna say it anyway. Performance is just as classy as professional musicals. I would feel no hesitation putting you in the musical female leading-role in films and musical with full confidence.

Meh...Lea is a good singer but Jackie has a more controlled tone and sings in a different alto range. She doesnt get so shrilly in her higher notes which is what this songs needs. I like lea's voice a lot and shes very talented but to me Jackie just has something more than her, its just too bad she hasnt been found like Lea was....

Definitley agree with the comment below me, look up Celtic Woman, I think you may enjoy some of the songs they typically preform. Do you have any plans of where your vocals are going to take you? I think you can sacrifice humbleness for once to let us know how well your doing?!

It's almost hard to sing On My Own without getting passionate, lol. I know, I was in Les Mis once, and I almost couldn't listen to our Eponine sing it without crying, It is a seriously great song. I see why you put so much dedication into learning it. Song is definitely worthy of its rewards. You do have a beautiful voice. Italian arias are great. You'd sound great with a French song. Also, look up Celtic Women. They are great and a lot of the songs would suit your voice quality. Thanks:)

They aren't high, you're right. Not if you're in head voice. But trying to belt it in chest voice...that's another story. Notice I switch to head voice on the higher notes. That's what I had to learn to do to make this song sound good. I always tried to stay in chest voice when I was younger and it sounded strained. The trick was learning to switch to head voice and back as seamlessly as possible. I still need to work on it.
Yeah, the hard part is definately trying to make it sound consistently in one voice (preferably a belt), or at least switch as seamlessly as possible like you said. It's not that their high, it's just that their right on a switch between head and chest, and you have to work up to those notes from lower ones, not just hit them. Agh! So hard. You did an AWESOME job.

I guess working on it for that long really pays off. You were brilliant. Coming from a Soprano who can sing into the sixth octave, this song is no walk in the park. Why? Because it doesn't matter how high you can sing, but how much you can control it when you are emotionally belting the notes and all their meaning. This song is difficult because you are consumed by it's meassage. Great job!

Meh...Lea is a good singer but Jackie has a more controlled tone and sings in a different alto range. She doesnt get so shrilly in her higher notes which is what this songs needs. I like lea's voice a lot and shes very talented but to me Jackie just has something more than her, its just too bad she hasnt been found like Lea was....

Wow....not bad at all. I think you might have some room to belt in your chest voices. It's be cool to hear you do some other broadway stuff. Of course, I'm (obviously) partial to Wicked but you're definately one of the better voices out here on YouTube. Good job! =)

Definitley agree with the comment below me, look up Celtic Woman, I think you may enjoy some of the songs they typically preform. Do you have any plans of where your vocals are going to take you? I think you can sacrifice humbleness for once to let us know how well your doing?!
On a side note, how long have you been having lessons? Do you just sing in a choir, or do get actual lessons?

It's almost hard to sing On My Own without getting passionate, lol. I know, I was in Les Mis once, and I almost couldn't listen to our Eponine sing it without crying, It is a seriously great song. I see why you put so much dedication into learning it. Song is definitely worthy of its rewards. You do have a beautiful voice. Italian arias are great. You'd sound great with a French song. Also, look up Celtic Women. They are great and a lot of the songs would suit your voice quality. Thanks:)

They aren't high, you're right. Not if you're in head voice. But trying to belt it in chest voice...that's another story. Notice I switch to head voice on the higher notes. That's what I had to learn to do to make this song sound good. I always tried to stay in chest voice when I was younger and it sounded strained. The trick was learning to switch to head voice and back as seamlessly as possible. I still need to work on it.

Yeah, the hard part is definately trying to make it sound consistently in one voice (preferably a belt), or at least switch as seamlessly as possible like you said. It's not that their high, it's just that their right on a switch between head and chest, and you have to work up to those notes from lower ones, not just hit them. Agh! So hard. You did an AWESOME job.

I guess working on it for that long really pays off. You were brilliant. Coming from a Soprano who can sing into the sixth octave, this song is no walk in the park. Why? Because it doesn't matter how high you can sing, but how much you can control it when you are emotionally belting the notes and all their meaning. This song is difficult because you are consumed by it's meassage. Great job!

Gotta love youtube! Here on the other side of the world, I stumble across this amazing girl singing in her basement! Fantastic, love your singing, brilliant voice.
