After more than 30 years it's amazing that his voice is still in fine condition. He sings this in the same key as the 1977 original and sounds the same. The change in Elton John's voice has been rather dramatic, I feel, although he did require vocal cord surgery and, I'm guessing, has likely spent more time in the saddle as a touring crooner than Larry has. Specifics aside, this was a great tune, and it continues to stand the test of time -- like Larry's voice.
I use to play this beautiful song back in the 70s it brings back some really good memories in my life growing up.i remember buying the 45 record and thinking this is one great love song. lenny still sounds great but i miss the cool background music thats on the record.
@BeachComber1977 He became a Christian not two years after this song came out in 78, and had done predominantly (if not ONLY) Christian music since then.
This song reminds me and my other siblings of our eldest sister who passed away years ago. She used to really love this song, and all of loved this song since then. I am so glad to know that Mr LeBlanc is a Christian, coz all of us too in our family are Christians. We'll see you in Heaven one day, Mr LeBlanc. And if you get to read this, my sister's name is Sheilah Marie. When you meet her in Heaven one day, pls remember that she loves this song of yours =)
this is one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL songs I have EVER heard, and from my time, my ERA, the 70s, some GREAT music and GREAT artists/groups from back then... Love LeBlanc & Carr, miss them, but this is timeless and brings back sweet memories...
