  • Just imagine how rich Wales would have been during the 1800-1900. All the industry Wales was in. The problem is whilst Wales was producing and generating supstantial capital, the only people that where benefiting from it was London and England. Just like place`s in Africa, and former colonies the English (British establishment) made a good job of profiting from others recoruces.

Thats my veiw why Wales should gain independence from England (British establishment).

  • What is that supposed to mean? The Welsh nation doesn't have enough money? Well, at the moment we don't have any money because we aren't actually a sovreign nation. But you're right of course, look at the poverty in other small nations like Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. Oh hold on, they are doing quite well for themselves aren't they? More unfounded claptrap from Brit Unionists desperately clinging onto a dying entity.

  • I think the strive to be independent is ridiculous. Why are people trying to make/keep Wales so distinct from elsewhere in the British Isles?

Separation causes duplication of resources, conflicts, etc.

I get a bit fed up with the fierce Welsh pride carp.

  • Load of nonsense. Nations are better governing themselves, not letting others do it for them.

  • Peldroedcymru: The Welsh nation doesn't have enough money to be independent. It's an idea that might sound nice because it might make you feel special or something but is totally impractical.

  • The practicality of a people is the responsibility of those people themselves. A people define themselves, as the definitions of others is irrelevant. Furthermore, on a moral plane, If someone doesn't want to live under your roof, you should not make him or her do so...perhaps it is better to support them while they shore up their own house, so to speak.

  • @aguystudio. If it's not practical then what's the point? Also, what's the big desire to be separate? Separatism is what causes conflicts and creates the them/us mentality.

Aren't we all in it together? I just have trouble figuring out why crossing an arbitrary border makes things different. I've been looking a lot at videos relating to solar system and universe which makes these micro countries wanting to be independent really weird.

  • @LAnonHubbard the reason we want Independence from England is because during the time we have been one what has Wales gained ? nothing but what have we lost ? Tons England basically migrated here took our coal, steel, iron cooper etc... and then left our country in complete mess and you basically said go clean it up and we'll give you a small allowance out of the money we made off you to help

  • @LAnonHubbard Well, sure, all things are relative when looking at Earth from Andromeda... but that is beside the point. Also, concerning practicality...what business is it of an outside party to determine practicality of a specific, different people? American colonies weren't exactly "practical" in their desire to part from the world's power-empire at the time, BTW. Togetherness? Trust me-in a global marketplace, small countries will bind with others to survive, which is natural & practical.

  • I agree with the other person, we need independence before anything else.

  • What we need is to get independence!!!

  • finnaly

  • yeah i talk to a jamacan girl the other day she dident know what i was talking about we have to put our contry on the map somehow

  • I agree with this video it is about time that our local resources are fully exposed. We do have a lot to offer and are not the poor cousins living down the road and out of sight. So come on Wales lets show everyone that we have so much to offer and not just our fantastic singers.

  • Save the wales (whales), ha ha, kidding, but probably a title like that would get more views :)
