  • meh

  • 2:31 My boy Justin Iadonis

  • @c1981 He's a good dude.

  • Check out the University of Utah Marching Band perform Malaguena! :D

    /watch?v=EpYrN_MA0rY

  • Um..the drum major looks exactly like my high school band director....and he went to UNA. whoah. We're performing it this semester. I feel cool now. :D

  • @theJesusfreakNash You don't go to Buckhorn do you? haha

  • @sethadamlee . yes. yes i do. :O i play trombone.

  • Great Musicians. Strange Arrangement. They should have only tried to use 2 rather than 4 cause they botched the crap out of the songs. However their sound, tone and flow is superb.

  • the cymbal rack was the best part of the perc. feature

  • wow, what a sound

  • I am a high schooler and I know better than that!!! Really looking around??? The drum major has to be paid attention to!!! Anyone knows that!

  • I was actually at this competition (you can see my band in the visitors bleachers at the beginning of the video), and three bands, including mine, played this song at this competition. It was amazing!

  • I was actually at this competition (you can see my band in the visitors bleachers at the beginning of the video), and three bands, played this song at this competition. It was amazing!

  • They're ok. They shouldn't look around while they're playing..

  • @xDarkxJonx Seriously? They shouldnt look around? Seems like you were looking for something wrong with the performance. However, if thats the best you can find wrong with the performance... LOL Thanks.

  • @DruNnyc What the fuck are you talking about looking around? They are looking at the drum major. You have to look at the drum major when marching. Half of these people march in drum corps(aka the best of the best). I bet you are a fucking high schooler motherfucker.

  • @xDarkxJonx guess that's why you probably aren't a good bandsmember....

  • ssssswwwweeeeeeeeeetttttt

  • People from my band go there

  • a rip off from cadet's version... the weaker version... scouts version is the top... after all they won dci with it

  • @JessOnTheRun That is because the percussion director and assistant band director at UNA was the front ensemble caption head at Scouts and is the current front ensemble caption head at at Cadets. This piece was arranged by him and a couple other guys from UNA/Scouts.

  • @AvogadrosChosen There are only 5 captions in DCI: Brass, Percussion, Visual, Music, General Effect

"front ensemble" isnt a caption.... "percussion" is a caption

  • @JessOnTheRun Ahhh... titles, schmittles.... A few years ago I heard Collin McNutt introduce him as the "front ensemble caption head" when they were with Scouts. Go to the PAS website or Google Iain Moyer to find out more about him.

  • Our contest for high school marching bands in Alabama (I come from Spain Park High School) had UNA POD marching band personally come over via invitation. OH MY GOD I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW AMAZING THEY WERE! To be honest I nearly broke down crying after they were done, begging for more.

  • Nic Brown is my Hero did you here that Tuba solo

  • not bad first impact couldve been better

  • to some it up in one word... DAMN!

  • finnaly a corps band thats entertaining

  • @taytaybug10 hahahahaha

  • Yah I leave near UNA and they are really good I think I actually watched them this year. I loved them I honestly think they are better than alot of Bigger college bands or more high profile college bands.

  • Aw, no trombone solo? D: I was looking forward to that.

S'okay, though. My brother was the trombone soloist during his senior year. I get all nostalgic whenever I hear it. XD

  • I heard this live at Prattville the year they played this. That same year, the high school band performing before us, US, and Hoover High School all played Malagueña and I can tell you they were so much better than all of us. UNA didn't bite off more than they could chew. They did very well with this.

  • dude what the crap una is awesome you probally have never heard them live there better then most division 1 bands

  • whats with the mini sousaphone at 3:06 ?

  • thats just the way the lights were reflecting off of it

  • 3 ppl from the Una band taught us at band camp fo rthe past 3 years. my band director graduated from UNA and i want to go to UNA for a band Scholarship.

  • Yes I did because when I was in high school we only had two weeks to learn our show... you are getting pissed just because someone posted their opinion, and stated that they "DID NOT WANT TO OFFEND ANYONE." You can't convince me because its my opinion. Stop acting like your 5 and bite the bullet. Quit blowing things out of proportion.

  • I thought about taking this post kind of seriously until I saw your name...

  • I did not mean to offend anybody. I was just not impressed.

  • Did you even take into account that this is a college marching band and that they only have a 1 to 2 weeks to learn the show and then perform it? High schools get around 3 months to learn a show and then clean it. The drumline is fairly clean in this video...

  • That's the problem with people, is that band's want to march and play things harder than what they can handle and make a huge mess out of things. It's not about playing something that is extremely hard or something that is hard to march. It's about perfecting it and most bands on all levels have lost sight of that.. this is a good crop of our show.. Go view the rest of our shows and I am sure you will not be disappointed.

  • @unaguy05 Correction, this is a horrible crop of our show. We had a new videographer and he did not do a good job. If you look at the other videos, those are a true representation of the UNA Band.

  • 3:19 yeah... that's me and drew on the upper register... REALLY fun

  • Around 1:13 when they show the snare line, the 2nd snare from the left is one of our instructors, Mandy Quinn.

  • I played this peice this year for my jazz band...Everyone loved it and still today I LOVE this peice ^.^ thanks for showing the marching version its great!!!

  • i loed playing this song.boy that was fun.

  • I loved the drum line! Their precision was AWESOME. This isn't the Malaguena I'm used to though. The precision of the rest of the band was pretty good too. This was really cool.

  • gotta love the '03 cadets rip off

  • @dalionman64 Haha, that's in part because our Assistant Director/ Percussion instructor is on staff at The Cadets. Mr. Ian Moyer.

  • I really really like this arrangement. It's different but it's not the same old one that gets overplayed.

  • we were so sick last year. were even better this year.

  • this is the closer for our show......our opener is A Mis Abuelos....fast version, and Conceirto

  • this is the closer for our show, we have el toro caliente for our opener then diego's goodbye for our ballad then this for for our closer, we are preforming at ASU this saturday and I'm really excited....

    GO COLORGUARD!

  • That was crazy!!!

    reallly good job

  • Want some screaming trumpets? Listen to the opener of their '08 show. Prepare to be amazed.

  • OMG that was good! :)

  • We're doing this for our show this year along with Land of Make Believe and Children of Sanchez.

They were at TVI the same year. After they finished, they turned around and performed it for the bands in the competition. It ruled

  • this piece was played very well

  • Very possibly the best marching band, pound for pound, in the Southeast.

To the tuba soloist- very nice, especially when you consider you're dealing with a sousaphone.

    Keep up the good work!

  • in the country!

  • I agree- you guys could have stood toe to toe with the '88 Madison Scouts

  • ha, that couldn't touch 88 scouts

  • But at least we get to look at all the pretty women with UNA.

  • very true

  • ah...it wasn't the cadets performance..lol but it was sure close! lol...nice

  • I wish my community college had a marching band I really miss it!

  • the community college i went to had a marching out here in california has a marching band but he director plays cheesy music.

  • The only thing missing was a trumpet 'messiah'. Someone who could take it to the real upper register. Great performance.

  • oh they do, he doesnt show off during this show though. actually have 2 great upper register players. ive seen them march and seen there jazz band play many times. but they definitely have someone that can take it up. dunno why they didnt guess because of the way it was arranged. not sure though.

  • Well, they need to "unleash" that person. :)

  • yeah i agree. ill see if i can find a video of them when they are playing full out and upload it.

  • Great Band! You guys are very professional.

  • o wow i wish i was there u guys where insane

  • Great Arrangement of Malaguena alot of people do it and it's great to hear different arrangements that one is most def on my top 5 I go to delta state and I believe yall travel to our stadium this year i wish Div 2 schools brought their bands.

  • awesome editing between shows on all three 07 videos! is this a claus martel production? and of course, it wouldnt be a UNA band without drew white going for his 12 year award! good to see the best band in the nation still doing it up like we used to!

  • Yeah...we rock. Too bad you can't see the wave thingy in the wedge at the end. That kinda sucks.

  • Great! Do you have any video of UNA Lion Paws dance Team? Please post! Thanks!

  • I look pretty BA there on the end. ^_^
