In 1974 , while serving my last year in the Air Force,,,I picked up a hitchhiker and her dog. Took them to their house, in Jerome.....That house at the beginning of the film looks exactly like it!!!Her name was Abagail.....There were some horse stables at the bottom of the hill she lived on.....
There was a donkey tied to a post in the ghost town back then. My sister went back there not long ago and all the same people were living there and so was the donkey tied to the same post. I'm certain that if I go back in 15 years it will be the same.
I was in Jerome about five years ago and it was for sure one of the strangest places I have ever been in my life. It was as if the town was stuck in time.. some time in the past. The people I came across during my visit were strange as hell too. Lots of hippies for sure. During my time there I visited the "ghost town", and it appeared as though there were still residence of Jerome living in some of the buildings that were falling apart.
@tdavisson88 My grandfather is from Jerome. In fact my great grandparents migrated there back in 1918. My great gandfather was a miner in the old town above. Only been there once many moons ago which was by mistake on our way to the grand canyon. My father had no intention of stopping till my other grandfather told him he's a disgrace if he doesnt atleast see where his father grew up.
I'll wager that 20 years later, the lady's house still looks exactly the same. When I was a kid in Cottonwood (in the valley), Jerome was full of pot smoking hippies. Those people never left, the just opened really cool shops for people to spend a buck in. Great video.
