  • i think this is the original piano arrangement of nobuo uematsu.. can you do the arrangement for the actual game? :D

  • i love this song

  • very nice! i own the sheet music and can testify to his accuracy. it wasn't the smoothest performance, but i'm sure it would sound a million times better if i could hear it live right now

  • I'll give you $1000 if you teach me how to play the piano!

  • O.O se ve como te esfuersas al tocarla y la tocas al tiempo que es esta muy bien te felicito ^^

Yo tambien la toco pero todavia no me sale completa... Siempre que la toco recuerdo a yitan jugando cartas XD

  • I like the relaxed feeling of this song... I might as well listen to it as i fall asleep now :) Excellent!

  • hahah...this brings back old memories lol

  • nicely played! great camera angle! i never played final fantasy games, but im SURE its a great game because they put a lot of effert into there songs wich means they must have put a lot of thought into the game!!!

    YOSHItunes♪

  • wow!

    very nice! well done

  • Great job, especially in the last part; i personally can only play the first page of this at tempo, but i cant wait to be able to play like you did.

  • wow, this takes me back. I love final fantasy IX Treno..gosh, amazing job!

  • yea i've heard of academy, but never knew they had a G.Des. program. i was looking at UofM duluth as well, but twin cities will be better i think... more familiar with the city.

btw you should do piano lessons lol, i'm trying to learn and it's tough!

  • Actually I had piano lessons 3rd through 12th grade, unfortunately I never practiced enough, until Final Fantasy inspired me again... Hang in there... once you learn the basics, you can become a well developed pianist in no time =D

If you teacher lets you play ff music, that's another great way to stay motivated and practice. Youtube has become very rewarding for me, and that's my main motivation to practice hard, so record your stuff if you get time =D

  • awesome song and you did amazing.

i see you go to brown college. i live in bloomington and went to Dunwoody... will be going to U of M for Graphic Design in the fall most likely.

  • you're a great player man

  • Thanks =D

  • wow... I wanna learn this song too!!!!!!

Can you please teach me this!!!!!!

  • Ooooooh this brings back memories 6 years back :( Right now im suffering from nostalgia :( :(

  • <3 I love this

  • omg this brings back memories =(

  • yes!

  • Incredible... Fantastic... you're the best

    You performed great! Congratulations!!!

  • check out the w3sp videos also...he makes music for final fantasy also

  • Yes I know he's quite a fine pianist too.

  • Isn't it so cute when people recommend you YT pianists that are so totally known? lol I really find it cute it's like "You should watch Kyle556" or you and ManHo Oppa xD It really is adorable.

  • hahahha, i guess its cute xD lol your funny =D

  • wow this brings back some memories, my ps 1 broke, and they didn't sell anymore, so listening to this song is just great, thanks so much! 5/5

  • HA, i read the whole comments, what do you say now? You're really funny.. and a good pianist.

  • wow ur like mario valino.

    ur unbelievable!

  • Holy cow! Loved the way you played the Treno Theme Song!

  • awesome!

  • great timing

  • Played true to the original, great job! 5/5

  • you know, i have always loved this song, but every piano video i have seen of it was always so fast, yours is the perfect speed! great job!

  • THIS JUST WON'T DO!

You don't have a musician account! You're 10x more talented than most of the musicians on here!

  • I actually thought about that too... But I had to second guess myself, Some of the videos on my cheonhopark might render into a different category then then just music. Music can't take me very far, I hate real live performances, So I had to stick with art/video game/3d animation. A problem with direction. Many interests but no mastery. I appreciate the comment though!

  • I agree with you. Moreover, I think that the pleasure of playing the piano is in the way you can change it.

  • a bit too slow, but almost, if not, perfect!

(i think its called dark city treno though... =D)

  • The original recording actually clocks around 2:42. However due to a little give and take before I start and stop the recording it is extremely close... but this doesn't mean you are entitled to an opinion :P

  • But technically I pretty much slightly slowed down and speeded up tempo, this occurs heavily during the conclusion of the piece.

  • "but this doesn't mean you are entitled to an opinion :P" you better be being sarcastic lol i didnt mean the length of the song was off, just the tempo AT THE START is too slow if I mind right... been ages since ive played this great game... you play it at the right speed eventually though! =D good work!

  • Nope I'm not being sarcastic, some people have different tastes, can't be successful in pleasing them all. Piano is just mainly a hobby of mine though, Perfection is nearly possible, but there will still be that few who just won't like. Yes thanks for the comment!

  • 0_o that was amazing!

  • Oh, gosh, now i have to go play FF9! I love this. song. <333

  • Well personnaly, it's my 8th or my 9th year and I'm practicing this theme, but I think if you're very motivated and if you really want to play (when you're 8 or 9, you're not always motivated) I think you can do it earlier than me lol. moreover I play the keyboard more than the piano, I don't play classic music a lot ^^. It's not very easy t oplay but it's not very hard too ^^ I can't give you any time to master the piece, it depends of too much things.

  • very good, man its great how things you like can influence you in artistic en devours like drawing and music. I've always wanted to be able to play the piano simple because its the only kind of music that can keep me for however amount of time just looking at someone play it. also FF music is the bees knees :D

  • i love this piece of music... it reminds me of a classic, olden type of downtown

  • U ROCK man! How many years did u study the piano?

  • haha thanks, I usually tell others that I really don't go by years... I took piano for about 10 years, and from then on I really actually started practicing. Playing something I enjoy, like final fantasy music really helped motivate me. Again, appreciate the comment sir. ;)

  • Wow! Umm i have one more question. Is it possible for one to master the piano in less than 3 years? I'm really curious, cause the people i see playing the piano so good are actually people who spend almost their whole life playing it.

  • Actually... I don't think it should go by years, if you seen how bad I was (My older melodies of life on my other account) I really sucked :P even with 9 years of practicing, but it was the ff music that brought me inspiration... It's difficult to consider what is master... It takes time, and perhaps you are right... the whole life time.

  • he moves awefully a lot for some1 who is playing piano ^^' u should get one of those balancing things(dunno the name in english) to mark the compass...bumping with the hoof aint good bro ;)

  • metronome?

  • exactly thx :)

  • hey man good stuff ! sounds like its straight from the cd haha keep it up buddy !

  • oh man.. you played this

    song EXACTLY how it sounds

    in ffix. AWESOME JOB! =D

  • watch my nature vid

    good played

  • neato

  • where is the nice ending like the other video before? ^^

  • lol you look so bored with the slowness in hte beginning.

  • I must say this one is very good. I agree that it's a very very tiny bit too slow in the beginning, but it's almost the same speed as the original. though later you play too fast. It's a song which is meant to be played slow. I love the lighting and just the aura in this video. It's almost close to the game itself. I love it.

    Keep on rocking!

  • with your name,Are you a KOREAN?you don't look like one!

  • Haha yep.

  • lol check all of his videos, he looks different in every of them hahahahh

  • i feel like playing FF IX again now. xD

  • thats great . i havent played tht game in years n tht brought it all back lol

  • I think the tempo is a little bit too slow, but that is maybe because I like it fast :)

Anyways I like how you jump an octave in your left hand between the tonic and the third and fifth.. very nice detail :)

In the 2rd part of the song I also like the sound you create in your right hand..

ANd the 3rd part, very nice... If you get a more fluent play, and try and loosen up on the staccato and the slow tempo.. it will be very very good :)

    Keep up the good work

  • Awesome, seems like you know your music theory :-)

  • Actually from Official FF IX CD it clocks around 2:46

However perhaps my tempo might not be even in some parts, which makes it appear to sound slower.

  • Wow, amazing. It actually sounds excatly like the real version off FF9. Once again, great job. Love the timing and mood of this :)

  • Just curious, how many pianos does your house have? (I may have asked this before not that I remember) I haven't checked out your brother's skills yet, so I don't know how far apart you bros are. When you played there were a few keys merged together. Was that in the musis sheet, or was it a "mistake"?

  • Hmm what was the time length?? I also had some pedalling mistakes in the conclusion. And yes my brother is a tad better than me, he started his ambition in piano earlier then I did.... and yes we only have one piano sadly :-)

  • OH shit, sorry, I forgot to answer your first question -_-. You probably don't even care now, but we have only 1 piano... and one really shitty quality keyboard which is useless :-)

  • on second thought, i tink this is the original.

    nice job by da way

  • The original OST version and the PC version is very similar to each other... but yes this is the PC version.

The ost version seems to have less fluctations in dynamics the the PC.

  • hehe, i love raggy songs, hehehe, i'll be learning this song soon,

is this the piano collections one or the original? i can't tell, but i'm guessing piano collections because there are more keys bein pooshed!

  • [Continued from up there]

Ahh by the way thanks for inspiring me. You and your brother are my two biggest inspirations when talking about piano... So i bought me a piano, gonna get tomorrow, and gonna start learning THIS PIECE! =P

Didnt mean to leave freaky ass long comments, haha

    ~Charles

  • Haha that's awesome... despite piano is still our personal hobby, its great to see that some people like our stuff. What brand of piano did you end up getting? Good luck with learning this piece... Ignore some of the critics out there who find this piece boring... It's actually quite fun to play once you learn it, especially the ending.

  • haha kewwwll

Ahh gay misunderstandings been happening lately!!

1st of all, my comments before the one you replied to never showed up! or the ones after it!! so thats why "long freaky ass comments" doesnt really make sense... & the piano thing, cause im buying it from people posting bulletins and stuff, they gave it to the one offering more X_X Leaves me looking stupid, and poor XP

and what else is gay is THE CHARACTER LIMIT PBLTT c|X

  • Yeah I get annoyed my the character limit... especially when I feel I need to write long ass descriptions... haha.

  • this is fantastic!

  • hahahah this brings back sooo many memories. sounds very authentic = )

  • Respect. Your interpretations of the piece, though non -classical, is very, very commendable my friend. Not a lot of people can appreciate gaming music to the extent that you have. Salut.

  • Haha, I am sure there's more people that have the passion for the piano, but I also have much passion for the game itself, and it does help me to invoke the feeling into the music, because I have already played the game... I like to think of the scenes and transcribe my emotion onto the piano, just like in the game.

  • glad now?

  • For? A rate?

    Haha yes.

  • would you say this song in harder the melodies of life collections? jus wondering! keep up the good work

  • Lol no... MOL takes much more emotional effort and time than sleepless did.

Sleepless has many repeats... and it's only 2 pages long... compared to the three pages long Melodies of life, with no repeats.

  • i been learning melodies of life for about 2 and a half months now!!! im only half way trough lol, and yes it is very hard to put emotion in to!! i find it all depends on the mood im in...that might jus be me tho.. anyways thanks for the reply!! laterz

  • god damn this fo is hella good!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You got a pretty sweet camera too!

You could use some legato in a lot of places.

But most specifically the part after 1:36.

None of the versions of this piece has that part composed of broken notes. But if this was intended, then so be it.

Still some mistakes, but I dont usually think this is a big deal. But theres probably still too many.

    Anyhow, this deserves a 5

    good job

  • This one is huge improvement.

Man....how do you find all that time to write essays about everything?

Well its good to know that you can analyze yourself so critically.

I've never actually seen someone keep constant tempo so boldly...or dramatically, as you do with your foot, but for some reason, this gives off a bad first impression. Its not important though

Awesome transition to Forte for the ending section. Freakin awesome.

  • man do not dis ragtime, I think this song is pretty cool one of the only ragtime songs in final fantasy other than the spinach rag from final fantasy IV. good playing not reallly anything wrong with it 5 starts to that

  • beautiful

  • It's a good dvd camera... I use a stand which levels it up and down. I like my angles too, even though many youtube pianist only show there hands... I think its more about body expression too which can be a bit more interesting to see.

  • LMAO I like your Pros & Cons xD How the hell do you get teh freakin camera angle anyway? O_o Tied it to the ceiling?

  • Yes, I win~!!

    Okay, sorry for that outburst!!

P.S. I have yet to post some videos...I've been visiting relatives for a while...and before that I've had exams etc. Why I'm posting that here...I don't know......................feel free to press "delete" and purge your comment list of this....atrou--, atoosit--, atrosit--, atrousi-- OKAY HOW DO YOU SPELL THIS WORD. ATROCITY...:P~!

  • WHAT THE HELL, how is this rating for this video lower than my first :( *Tear*

Oh well, vote as what you like better, but if you vote better for my first one... DON'T BE GAY! Just because i am half naked should not count for the vote, psh, you pedos!

  • Somewhere in between:

1.) Your body did not seem to display as much emotional giddyness/drunkeness like the last. It probably allowed you to concentrate better on your performance however to the listener/viewer it makes the sound more boring. Especially this being a somewhat rather dull song, I somewhat liked your own interpretation, where you played the conclusion louder and faster made the song more exciting.

  • 2.) WHERE'S THE ROOT BEER? OH MY GOD, NO ANIMALS??? GO BACK INTO YOUR NAKEDNESS YOU HOT ASIAN! Or a diaper.

3.) WHY DON'T YOU WEAR MUSCLE SHIRTS LIKE YOUR ASIAN BROTHER! WHAT'S THE MATTER ARE YOU JEALOUS? You are just too egotistical, trying to prep up and look nice... lol that doesn't work for me bitch, go back to your old ways! I WANNA SEE THE DIAPER BOY AGAIN *TEAR* (I am sorry, get a life and leave me alone!)

  • Cons:

1.) Your beat at the beginning towards your transition to the first part of the piece was a little "off-paced."

2.) When you use your leg to keep the beat it sometimes is distracting. (I know, I have an extreme difficulty in keeping the beat, many times I find myself inconsistent, but I think it helps me, even though it may be distracting to not only the viewer but also myself).

  • 3.) Sometimes your left hand playing the chords was not simultaneous as they should be. E.g. The second half of the piece. There is the Intro, First part, Second Part, Third Part, and Conclusion.

4.) A few more inconsistencies during the third part during your note playing, perhaps this should have been a little softer (I don't know how I could play it any softer; I think our piano needs to be tuned again!)

  • I actually read that essay of a comment....:P....okay, fine I read "most" of it....Isn't rendition spelt....well, "rendition"? That might be why you couldn't find it......Good performance~!

  • Yes you are correct... rendition... mm I never knew about that word until I my mistake was corrected by my office xp word.

  • Well I looked up the definition of rendition.. and its meaning didn't seem to fit very well with what I was after: "a performance of a musical composition or a dramatic role etc" so I was stuck trying to find a whole different word(s)

    LOL oh well.

  • hahaha seriously how the hell you got the time and effort to write those super mega long descriptions?

  • Damn near perfect.. 5 STARZZZ!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pros:

1.) OMG!!! CHEONHOPARK, YOU ARE ACTUALLY WEARING CLOTHES (AND THEY ARE PROPER), AND YOU ARE NOT ACTING LIKE A RETARD, GOOD JOB! *CLAPS HANDS* I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! [Me: I told you I could do it! How could I lie to you?]

2.) Your overall beat was much more consistent compared to your last.

  • 3.) Despite due to the camera angle being closer to the bass line of the piano, the sound differences between the lighter tone from the higher notes and from the louder tone from the lower notes was well balanced.

4.) You rhythm was more corrected. You held your rest notes out longer, just like the original Final Fantasy Piano IX Collections CD Album.

5.) Your softer touch during the transitions worked out well.

  • 6.) Great crescendo during the transition from the third part to the conclusion

7.) Yes! You corrected your note mistakes during the conclusion.

8.) In speaking of your beat again, your beat was much more consistent in your left hand when you played those eighth notes when you repeated the song.

  • You and your bro both LOVE to make long ass descriptions but I think Travis' are much longer... but yours are still freaking long lol.

Ok you played this so much better.... I likey..... move on to MOL now... and Travis, SHARE THE PIANO DUDE! LOL.

After you fixed the wrong notes I told you about... man it sounds so much better.. plus emotional wise you did a much better job.. reminds me of your bro's vids.

k first coment plus 5 stars yay
