  • dat talented kid in this video is an old friend of minne i've not seen in a decade or forever!! we met on the day after my birthday and we became the best of friends. he's the one who made feel that i'm not alone in this world, and he's important to me than anythimg else...our friendship ended when i left new york at age 15, and my heart may broke, but even though that we'er separated, i learned that a part of sam ascher-weiss will always be in my heart forever!!!!!!!! missed him a lot!!!!

  • i do too!

  • It was fun recording this video of Sam. It was in the Jazz Church in the Citicorp building in New York City. It was the opening for the year of the Duke Ellington Society whose president did the announcing. Sam improvised on 5 tunes attributed to Ellington including A Train which was actually written by Billy Strayhorn.

  • This the same Shnabubula from the ocremix site? this kid is good! daaaamn man!

  • Yep, the very same. Dang that's a lot of skill at that age, though it looks as if he's played all his life. Something not everyone is privileged to in their childhood years... :( (and formal training at a very early age)

  • You, my good man, are lightyears before most musicians. This performance just made me believe that even more. I salute you.
