I can't wait for what Madagascar has in store for me. Accepted my invitiation last week. I'm truly excited for what is in store. Thank you for sharing.
il be out there with you guys in 2011 :D i was gonna be in the AF(air force) but PC is way better and im going with my fiance applying senior year :DDD
I was going to join the armed forces, but the Peace Corps has my vote. I'll be applying my senior year of college, and I hope I'll be taken in. You don't need to carry a gun to make a difference.
I applied my Senior year in college. Six months after I graduated I was in Niger, West Africa. Peace Corps truly was the most exciting time of my life. I have done 3 tours now. I hope you apply and are accepted. Peace Corps is a BLAST.
Agreed TickleMeElmo55, I joined the Armed Forces and wow... what a mistake. Can't wait to get out and join the Peace Corp and other volunteer groups :)
@InfernalPenguin You don't need a college degree to be accepted into the PC but its preferred. For those that don't have a bachelor's degree they need X number of years of experience in their respective craft (carpenter, plumber, farmer, electrician etc.) to be considered. That's why I said I'll apply when I'm a senior in college since I'll have my bachelor's degree by then.
I really want to join the peace corps. My reason for joining is that i want to see the world, and i want to make a difference on someone's life. i think it is amazing how one person can change so many lifes. i want to be a teacher in the peace corps
I'm a returned Peace Corps volunteer from Madagascar. I don't know the name of this song, but it's a traditional song from the northern part of the island. It's about homesickness and wanting to go home.
Were you part of the evacuation? I was in the first group to be evacuated because of civil unrest. It hurts your heart. What sector where you in? Where was your site?
You HAVE to be a college grad to join the Peace Corps. And hope they don't send you to some dangerous 3rd world craphole where the natives steal all your shit and kill you.....but not before they rape you for a week.
Awesome music! I would love to know who sings the song. Reminds me of my own Peace Corps service in the South Pacific. Everyone learns to sing and they all know the same songs. Very cool.
Wonderful video and the music was so rich and filling I would say that it adds to the crisp photos in a way that helps to convey the culture and what you were trying to capture. Of course, I've spent some time in Ghana and I can put myself back to the sites and smells easily. Also, I'm working on finishing my Peace Corps application currently, is there any way we could get in touch?
