My understanding of Islam is that it cannot be at peace with American values because America's government is secular by definition. Islam seeks total integration of religion and law, which is anti-thetical to the vision of the founders of this country. Sharia cannot be established in America without destroying the essence of what makes America distinct from most other countries in the world. And if Sharia cannot be established, Muslims will never feel truly at home here.

@aquishix Islam teaches muslims to follow the law of the country they live in. If the laws of the country prevent muslims from folowing their religion, rather than break the law, muslims should live in another country. I don't think there is a singe law in the USA which prevents muslims from practicing Islam so I don't think there is a problem.

@aquishix Sharia does not have to be established in the USA for the Muslims to feel at home. If the muslims in the USA are allowed to practice their religion there is no reason for them to not feel at home.
