  • This is such a sad song which even though is about FF7 can still apply to our world and the way we're living nowadays...

  • Choir level : ASIANS

  • In the future, some centuries forward, Nobuo Uematsu will be remembered together Beethoven, Richard Wagner, Mozart..

  • I have to search hard for this and "Prelude" but they are my FAVORITE of the "live" performances. I just LOVE this song, it's so beautiful! Although I also catch myself going "The Life stream..." everytime it starts up :D

  • This song Make me cry...

  • Someone make a playlist of the concert vids please....

  • it gets me every time....wow...what tranquilizing vocals....absolutely genius

  • i love this music and all final fantasy music

  • Sephiroth made 4 accounts and disliked this video after he got the shit kicked out of him by Cloud

  • @BeyFan97 Or it was him and his remnants who made those accounts individually just to thumb down this video. XD

  • 1:57 gives me chills every time. stunning.

  • absolutely amazing what the human voices can do. :)

  • Kadaj made 468 accounts and liked this vid LOL

  • did i see Amy from Stereo Pony!!!!!

  • I wish they played this at sydney opera house for the distant worlds tour.

  • I wish they played this at sydney opera for the distant worlds tour.

  • Does any1 know if this is for sale on DVD preferably in The Netherlands, and if so where can i find it?

  • i have this song on my mp3 player.

  • ^.^ Someone should make a choral arrangement for this so schools can do this. This is a beautiful song. I really want to sing it, but next year will be my only chance, because i graduate next year from HS.

  • Somebody really should repost this song in reverse. It was eerily beautiful. Please, anyone!

  • @LambdaLife WTF everything songs twisted and satanist in reverse why would u even want that for such good music but really most music that has something in reverse is something dealing with the illuminati but i hate how any song sounds in reverse after hearing Lucifer reveresed by JZ

  • @Naruto491multigamer You are one paranoid, bat shit insane piece of work. Don't talk down to something you know nothing about. The reversed version was beautiful.

  • @LambdaLife u piece of shit little emo faggit ass bitch stfu u missed my whole point and just got disrespectful dont suggest people to listen to bullshit backwards u lil hoe and i chose to state that since u wanna put that out there when it's erelevent since the song isnt backwards i'd bring up some examples u illuminati slave coward

  • @Naruto491multigamer you're such a poor mother fucker xD

  • @Naruto491multigamer lol you need help. You're fucking insane.

  • @LambdaLife u need a mirror

  • @Naruto491multigamer lol okay kid. Keep commenting. It only makes you look worse.

  • Comment removed

  • @LambdaLife i cant look worse to anyone already lower and very pathetic for feeling like someone for following our arguement or rather disagreement

  • @Naruto491multigamer lol little virgin boy sitting behind his keyboard. lolololol

  • @LambdaLife cool story

  • @Naruto491multigamer ignorant bastard, stop talking about illuminati, they only exist in your empty head.

  • @Naruto491multigamer ahahaha, only one word comment? Of course, you don't have any more arguments, poor bastard.

  • Nobuo Uematsu is the master. I love this song and the only problem is, that there´s not a lot of Bassus like they XD But even that... i´m doing the arrangement... I will do my choir sing that song.

  • Wow.........im speechless

  • and *this* is why Nobuo Uematsu is legendary. his music can reach out, further than the game industry and still make an impact as a stand-alone.

  • And then it came; the chosen day. In the end, the planet itself had to make the battle stop for good. The planet used the lifestream as a weapon and when it burst out of the earth, all the fighting, all the greed and sadness, everything was washed away. Sadness was the price to see it end. It's been two years since they told me that.

    OMG, BEST GAME, BEST MUSIC, BEST MOVIE 777.........L u c k y :3

  • There was one SOLDIER named Sephiroth, who was better than the rest. But when he found out about the terrible experiments that made him, he began to hate Shinra. And then, over time, he began to hate everything. Shinra, and the people against them. Sephiroth, who hated the planet so much that he wanted to make it go away. And the people who tried to stop him. There were a lot of battles. For every battle, there was more sadness. Someone I loved went back to the lifestream too. BEST part 1

  • Sephiroth, Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo disliked.

Seph mad cuz Latin stylin on him?

  • "Why do we cling together, And why do the punishment to our weak hearts? Our star would not allow, would not allow Our planet would not allow, would not allow The pulse of veins in the Earth flowing Faint, faint pulse Of the heart drawn to death in the gentle life returns to the planet it is necessary to sacrifice the soul, And why do do we cling together, And why do we beg for forgiveness? In the fateful Earth? "

  • 4 like rap

  • some idiot lady is using vibrato in the middle of smooth voice

  • @Zaberath where??? i dont hear it. can u give me the time when it happens? i wanna make fun of her too :)

  • @creamiorange At around 1:31 I think.

  • @Zaberath That might be stipulated like this. I find it quite unlikely that she were mistaken in such way.

  • i always get the feeling that angels are singing when i heard this

  • Beautiful

  • 4 ppl with o culture

  • Wait.. is this the like ACTUAL voices they used for the movie? because it sounds exact

  • @TheBerry15

    of course not

  • i love it.... i loooove it... so beautiful.. just listen the song and my world is a paradise..

  • I want to go to one of these Voices concerts before I die or my life will never be complete. I hope to God it's one of those running concerts they do every few years or so though D: I love thiiis

  • Now I wonder... Is this in SATB?

  • One of the few songs out there that's good enough to not sound like something from a video game (or a movie in this case)

  • props to the dudes hittin those real looooooow notes

  • OMG ......BEAUTIFUL

  • alli can say it that this always brings me to tears. its so beautiful. just wondering, are there any tabernacle choir members in this? anyway, thank you so much for putting this up! the choir is one of the best in the world. nuff said, nuff said...

  • omfg i cant belive i rly just cried.. this song brings me great happiness

  • how could not like this song

  • NOBUO UEMATSU IS A MASTER!!!

  • NOBUO UEMATSU IS A MASTER!!!

  • I'd be so honored to be in that choir... XDDDD

  • i'm getting buried to this, no doubt

  • @KaraokeKing

me too. i'm definitely getting buried to this. even the lyrics fit. if i think about it, i cant wait for it (joke lol)

  • I wonder how much they had to practice to get their syllables right.

  • @pardn I wouldn't imagine too long with them being professionals and with the international phonetic alphabet.

  • i can't imagine people disliking this song!

  • @jemg15 only stupid people dislike this song1

  • Everytime I try to sing it by the lyrics. I keep losing my place PMSL XD

  • makes me wanna cry its so beautiful...

  • When I first heard this song, the first thing i thought was: OMG I'm gonna learn this beautiful language named latin.

  • @MsTetrisblock its like Buddhist chanting at the beginning, but later combines much of Christian/catholic blessing's ..lol,anyone agree?

  • @cutiepe2ce actually i think if might be more gregorian chant than buddhist.

  • My heart slowed down to 30 bpm

    My gf counted

    It's just, so calming...

  • this video gives me goosebumps but im still mesmerized by their awesomeness

  • One of the most beautiful a cappella songs I know. I would love to hear such a thing in person.

  • The song is amazing but the Latin isn't correct at some parts. But I guess that doesn't matter :D

  • @ordinaryT Ha, funny to read that :D. Which parts aren't correct? I'd be interested in knowing that.

  • @TheMililie Well for example the part with "Vita mollis in stellam redeunt" makes not really sense because "mollis" usually means something like soft or smooth (people who translated "Daedulus et Icarus" should know that because it's often used relating to the wax) but they wanted to say something like weak instead :) I mean that's not really important and also the song is very short but I just wanted to say something useful ;) And after 6 six years latin in school I think I have a trauma :D

  • @ordinaryT Oh okay I see, thanks. Indeed, it must seem quite weird to someone who learnt Latin during 6 years :D. I can't undersand Latin (but I read the translation of this song), but lyrics from songs are very important to me, sometimes even more than the song itself, that's why I was curious to read your explanation. Thanks :)

  • in latin? oO

  • Beautiful! One of my fav songs

  • Haha- I'm teaching this song to my A Capella choir. ^-^ I hope we sound this good. (Although it's kinda hard when Altos are the only ones hitting double digits and you still can't hear them...)

  • @Arenja You should put a video up! ;)

  • @ordinaryT

    Can't. Bad luck x10.

First our choir teacher died, then our new choir teacher sucked, and now she's letting ANYONE into the advanced choir. We're no longer doing hard music, and everyone else has started to suck- not just the new people (who can't read music, btw.)

  • @Arenja Hm I guess that sucks... Well our school has a choir but there are only 12 year old kids in it and so I stopped singing :)

  • @Arenja Hm I guess that sucks... Well our school has a choir but there are only 12 year old kids in it and so I stopped singing :)

  • lets see if my concert choir can sound this good. lol i doubt it but i'm sure we'll come out with something that doesn't sound to bad

  • Someone quick. There was a version of 'The Promised Land' on Youtube, but it appears to have vanished. It had distinct lyrics in the reversed version, and now that I can listen to it on my surround sound, I can't find it! Any help would be appreciated.

  • Translating latin directly is kinda hard, because it's a very fluent language, and there are many ways to read the lyrics, but pardn (three comments below this one) got the meaning right. Nice, very nice :)

  • "Cur in gremio haeremus? Cur poenam cordi parvo damus? Stella nobis non concessit, non concessit Stella nobis non concessit, non concessit Venarum pulsus in terram fluens Parvus, parvus pulsus Cor mortem ducens Vita mollis in stellam redeunt Animam sacrificare necesse est? Cur in gremio haeremus? Cur veniam petimus? In terram fatali?"
  • Why do we cling to the womb? Why do we punish an insignificant heart? The planet has not submitted to us, has not submitted The planet has not submitted to us, has not submitted The pulse of the veins flowing into the earth Small, insignificant pulse The heart prolonging death Weak life returns to the planet Is it necessary to sacrifice the spirit? Why do we cling to the womb, to the womb? Why do we ask forgiveness In a doomed land?
  • I'm sry but this translation does not come anywhere near the actual latin. the verb haeremus has nothing to do with being weak-minded

  • @natewoo1103

A little confused what you mean... the first line has nothing written in it to do with a weak mind. It's 'Why do we cling to the womb'.

  • @TJPguy I was replying to k2mfans's translation. he wrote something about being weak minded in the first line about 3 years ago.

  • @natewoo1103

Oh right I see, thanks :L

  • Now I'm happy to study Latin!! =D

  • what language do they use in song like these?

  • Latin!

  • Latin.

  • This song was sung in Latin.

  • Does anyone know what the words mean? Is there an internet site with the translation?

  • just type in google the promised land lyrics and you will get what they are singing and some different translations for it.

  • It's hard to sing a song entirely of a different language, but they sung this song perfectly. Well that's my opinion anyways.

  • epic music

  • I have this on my ipod, and I listen to it when it's raining and walk out

  • English: Why do we cling together? Why give punishment to lesser hearts? The stars did not forgive us, did not forgive us (x2) The throbbing pulse flows through the earth, flows through the earth A tiny pulse A heart drawn to death A gentle life returns to the stars Must souls be sacrificed? Why do we cling, cling together? Why do we beg for forgiveness In the promised land?
  • Latin: Cur in gremio haeremus? Cur poenam cordi parvo damus? Stella nobis non concessit, non concessit (x2) Venarum pulsus in terram fluens, in terram fluens Parvus pulsus Cor mortem ducens Vita mollis in stellam redeunt Animam sacrificare necesse est? Cur in gremio, in gremio haeremus? Cur veniam petimus In terra fatali?
  • This is...amazing. Just...wow.

  • where and when do they do concerts like these..?? Final Fantasy music.

i'd love to go see at least one..or a few

  • lol a few

  • what? the music is very nice so yea..maybe a few or so

  • I couldn't stop crying. I want to know which movie this is from...I can't stop crying...

  • its from final fantasy vii: advent children...most of the games to it are very sad, thats one of the reasons why its the most popular final fantasy. you should look up the english lyrics to this song, its quite sad.

  • Final fantasy advent children, great movie, but you might be a bit confused..

  • hehe...my parents tried to watch the movie once. they had not even a clue what was going on.

  • XD same here mine were watching with me and my mom was like 'i dont get it why is he attacking him? (Referring to sephiroth and cloud) But it is great graphics!' I was like ooookay then XD

  • haha! my dad asked me "is hooded guy good or bad?" then he'd ask for his lifes story, then 10 minutes later he'd go "who's that hooded guy?"

  • XD my dad said that aswell! Arent parents wierd? lol

  • lol...

  • I didn't understand the movie when I first saw it, after I looked up FFVII I understand the movie, and now I'm planing on getting the last two games that I don't have.

  • play the game. Final Fantasy VII, or you won't understand the movie, even remotely.

  • The DVD version has a featurette, called "Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII" that contains all important cutscenes and dialogue from the original game, it is about 20 min. long.

I don't know if AC Complete has it since I haven't bought that yet.

  • Yeah it does, it covers all the games.

  • hey i understood it and i havent played the game

  • beautiful,LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That was...I'm left speechless.

  • Incredible.

  • Just... wow.

  • There is trully nothing to say....just Breath taking!

  • this is amazing

  • 1:52 to 2:07

  • The way it sounds just goes out to your heart. No denying it.

  • favorited

  • This is what I like to see in a choir. People of all statures, shapes, and faces. It seems that being in such a place is more widely accepted, socially, in Japan, perhaps?

  • Yes, because in Japan work in an Orchestra is a very good job.

  • @kkeelan

Being more widely accepted in Japan? Hmm... I don't really agree with you on that one. Yeah, there's variety in this choir, but in the bigger picture I don't think it's so.

Anyway, you wrote this 2 years ago now so I doubt it matters any more :L

  • thats great a live version.

  • my god

  • Greatest Final Fantasy song

  • Absolutely beautiful.

it really give's a kind of calm which almost makes you want to cry.

  • i am ha *sniff*

  • tiss song makes me want to cry

  • such beauty! love it we should treasure music like this insted of this craziness out there!

  • 1:20 i start to shake, so beautiful! <3

  • I almost cried when I heard this. It takes a musical genius like Nobuo Uematsu to write beautiful music like this, that fits the title perfectly. I can imagine a dying man seeing God and this song playing.

  • this video sounds completely beutiful

  • crank dat bass

  • what is the genre for this piece?

  • Classical, Vocal & Nintendocore?

  • I checked on it.

    Its Japanese Gregorian chant/classical

  • fantastic

  • Cur in gremio haeremus? Cur poenam cordi parvo damus? Stella nobis non concessit, non concessit Stella nobis non concessit, non concessit Venarum pulsus in terram fluens Parvus, parvus pulsus Cor mortem ducens Vita mollis in stellam redeunt Animam sacrificare necesse est? Cur in gremio haeremus? Cur veniam petimus? In terram fatali?
  • Why do we stay in the cradle?

Why do we provide suffering to our little heart? Our star did not leave us, did not leave us

Our star did not leave us, did not leave us The pulse of veins flowing in the earth

Faint, faint pulse Heart leading to death

And the weak life return to the planet

Is it necessary to sacrifice the soul? Why do we stay in the cradle?

Why do we beg for mercy?

    In the fatal earth?

  • I don't speak latin, but I think this one is better: Why do we cling together? Why give punishment to lesser hearts? The stars did not forgive us, did not forgive us flows through the earth through the earth The throbbing pulse flows through the earth A tiny pulse A heart drawn to death A heart drawn to death A gentle life returns to the stars (stellan) Must souls be sacrificed? Why do we cling together? Why do we beg for forgiveness In the promised (fatali) land?
  • thank you for the decode!!

    i knew it was Latin!!!!

    lol

  • His music always almost brings a tear to my eye.

  • I adore Nobuo Uematsu

  • beautiful

  • My favourite song. Always flow of tears :').

  • gotta love those bass IIs

  • When I close my eyes to this song... I see the end of a epic battle and this song reveals all the after effects ... the good and the bad. Brings peace to mind.

  • Yes, it's certainly bittersweet that way. I imagine this song being heard by another civilization long after we are gone....wondering about what we were.

  • Supposedly we were all about awesome but nonsensical anime in japanese with latin lyrics :P

    This piece of music rocks!
