i'm from the US. if youtube was around in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and flash/vote mobs were around back then as well, i'd have been much more inspired to (register to) vote sooner than i did (2002). yeah, we have "rock the vote", and while celebs encouraging youth to vote is all well and good, i think this is better. :)

personally, i hope to hear the canadian media reporting record HIGH youth voter turnouts this election. \m/ \m/ prove these old schoolers wrong!

Anyone who doesn't vote deserves to be....... Sat down and politely informed why voting should be considered a privilege and how their voice counts. We are Candian after all, no reason why we can't be civil

I realize text doesn't convey tone very well, so let me be as clear as possible: The whole purpose of this video is to promote and encourage voting from Canadian youth. If you consider explaining to someone how the democratic process works to be "poking and prodding" someone into doing something they don't want to do, I'd hate to see you toilet train a child. That'd just get messy.... And way to pick up on a typo, that takes skill.

Great video, I hope it inspires a change in the eyes of youth and the eyes of Newfoundlanders. Maybe showing this in schools across the province may instill the desire to vote and make a difference. It made me look at things differently. Great job!

Props to MUNSU for doing this, but you really should have went for more people! MUN has approximately 17,000 students and there are only 30, 40 tops in the vid! There's a sense of apathy among young Canadians with regards to politics and this video just proves it by showing the small percentage of people who actually cared enough about the democratic process to participate....

@hollytobin The low turnout could also be due to the fact that the event took place on a Sunday before the first day of exams. The number of students who came out isn't completely representative of the number of students talking about the federal election on campus. There's been a lot of buzz on facebook, especially the event page for the MUNSU Vote Mob, and just because only 30 or 40 students came out does not mean that youth on the MUN campus aren't getting informed and preparing to vote.
