  • hmmmmmmm.

  • hmm...i'm english...and your english is excellent.

  • kinda reminds me of little britain (fat fighters) xD

  • Hi. The idea of wanting to get rid of an accent is not a good idea as it amounts to agreeing that the accent you have is deficient in some way and then you are also pandering to the status quo. This is against your linguistic human rights. You might wiki the idea of 'language variation' and you'll hear the same thing. Also, there is no such thing as correct pronunciation and if you do the research you'll be convinced too. Armed so, you'll be set to assert your wonderful identity.

  • im from indonesia alsooo :) but i live in oklahoma

  • who the hell asked you 'where are you CAME from'? lol

  • Your english is good! We hardly hear an accent.

  • I think.. it's racism?

  • Do yourself a favor. Don't try and lose your accent. Your English is fine. And it was fine 5 years ago with that eye roll video which I just saw randomly. In my opinion accents are very appealing and endearing as long as you can understand the English. And you speak fine :)

  • What to say... "Haters gonna hate!"

Just be superior to this... they are the real dumb.

  • Sama2 juga di aku puya skewl.!!

  • Your accent is barely noticeable. However, as pangolin9 says, you sometimes leave out words which aren't used in Indonesian. For example "...I've got cold..." instead of "... I've got a cold..." Ask an American-born friend to correct you whenever you make a mistake. Most people will feel inhibited about doing this, so make it clear that you ***really*** want them to be persistent (at least at certain agreed-upon times…). I used to do this with my wife, who is Asian (I’m not).

  • I'm proud of my Indonesian accent, even though some people make fun of me.

  • My mom (Chinese) also brings my brothers to gymnastics and converses with the other parents. However she doesn't have much an accent at all and she gets along fine. I find it very unfair that being gifted with bilingualism would set back someone with such a vibrant personality. My initial thought was that if people can't accept you, you shouldn't accept them-- probably not the best philosophy, but I'm sure there are plenty of other people who could be friendlier and accept you and your culture.

  • Don't change your accent it's fine. Diversity is what makes this country great...

  • That's OK ci. It doesn't matter what accents you have, when ever people are trying to make fun of you, just think in your head "Coba kalau loe di Indo, sama sekali ngak bisa ngomong kan? masih mending gw masih bisa bhs Eng n yg lain. "

I've been here for 5 year, I don't have an accent, but a bunch of my friends does, and I can understand them just fine, just like I can understand you :)

Dari pada ngomongnya di buat2, yah ngak?

Btw, Thumbs up for "Ibu dan anak n Lo Han Kuo" :) Feel better!

  • I know how you feel, Don't worry you're english is good and its okay to have an accent

    ^_^

  • @GregK28002 Thanks greg :D

  • I would be just a little intimidated to talk to you at first, because you are pretty, but I have no trouble understanding you in any of your videos, and I think that your accent just makes you that much more attractive. Of course, once I discovered you were married, I would be a little bummed, but I would get over it pretty quick and just be your friend.

  • @MrMax89 LOL.. hahahahhaha see I need more friend like you :D

  • Halo----Have you tried singing and following along with Karaoke with subtitles. How about picking a person and try to copy them in how they speak. You sound like an american, but the way you form your sentences or leave out certain words gives you away. Its like you pop into a Indonesian/Belanda speach pattern omitting some of words from the way we speak here. Malay is much easier to convey what we want in shorter time frame. Selamat

  • @pangolin9 you know what tho.. if you didn't mention about my indo/belanda speech pattern.. I won't actually realize... it's TRUE!! OMG you're genius!! I guess I really need to work on my grammar sentence huh?!! thanks

  • @dandorf I watch you for the Indonesian lessons. Which I say Hormat to you. Just your effort and willingness not to settle will see you to success. Not to pull hairs! You wrote " I won't actually realize" . It would sound much more fluid if you said "I would not have realized.....etc" One has many ways to say no just like tidak. You just need a little fine tuning. TKasih
