I've had tremendous success with mine and won many contests, but have you guys had any trouble with the toes and such ( being cramped up and causing pain) ? Do you have any suggestions on how to aleviate the pressure there ? I thought of wearing another shoe inside the boots ( I used boots for mine btw because I figured they were strong enough to support the bolts) I worry about taking up too much space, making it worse.
Do you have any suggestions for making SUPER sleek digilegs? The costume I want to do would essentially be spandex (and the character has thin legs) so any hardware on the legs and feet would have to be really flat/minimal. Is this even possible? (I'm an experienced costumer but more on the sewing end of things so am kind of daunted about this)
@Sarcasmhime That's where I started, I could make a 48 piece lined, boned velvet corset in 3 days, but nails and screws scared the bejeezus out of me.
You need a material that can handle your weight while being thin. I.e., a metal "C" beam wouldn't bend and could be welded a metal sheet that could be bolted onto wood.
People who can weld are everywhere. I access a welding setup through the local university. Before I lived here I'd dress sexy and repair garage employees did my bidding for free.
Not everyone is willing to offer youtubers help with the construction let alone blueprints .....THNX ^_^ I m gonna try to make the stilts and wings and make them into a costume ,, see how that will work
I'm sooo going tobuy it!!!!!! My friend and i made a minotaur mask so we can adjust it for that or use it for my werewolf look :) Nothing beats walking around town as a werewolf!
Well If i wasn't dirt poor I would definately buy the book to encourage more books to be made, but great job on letting others see how to make these :)
XD SQUEAL LOOKIT THAR IT'S MAI ART. ::laughs like a loon:: I am SO buying it this very SECOND. X3 :: does a dance :: I'm so happy you used it and I hope to work for/with ya again sometime soon! Have an AWESOME SPECTACULAR Christmas! ^ ^
Thanks! I hope it's an example project too, of what you can do when you take comments, e-mails, and photos and instead of leaving them scattered on the web bring them together to create a formal document. Cuz the software to make it was free, and the people who contributed weren't professionals or anything.
Yeah, the PDF is free (and you can print that out at home) but I wanted people to be able to get a physical book from a printer since there's not a lot of furry/cosplay specific material out there, it could be special gift for a costuming maniac. In the links on the right hand side "more info" tab you can check it out.

@tiagolepeco Wealso made a video about sizing the stilts, which is the method we've been using since we made our fourth pair--check that out, too.

@wowlover16 I'm thinking about making a cyclops from Age of Mythology as a costume, but I'm not sure how it's gonna work out.
