  • I love how Robert was about to leave the stage and they started playing again! Haha

  • Dude... who cares about your age..?? music is not about age!

  • I'm not faggot or something, but damn, robert plant is lookin' hot

  • @GDhaenens maybe thats why he had so much chicks :)

  • Yeah, you could put your hands on the stage without getting arrested by Homeland Security.

  • What the fuck is john bonham playing in that jam?!?! Insane

  • im 2 and a half years old and still listening in 2012 and i like good music even tho im young!

  • and this is how headbanging was born

  • yeah.. it's 2011.. I'm 19 years old and I love Led Zeppelin..

  • excellent.

this used to be called 'heavy metal' when I was a lad

  • @popeordope Dude this still is heavy metal! Zeppelin is one of the heaviest most badass bands ever!!

  • Punk Rock! Was there anything they couldn't do?

  • Comment removed

  • fan-freakin-tastic!!!

  • 3:20 to the end is fucking epic. What band could pull this off today?

  • I would have liked to hear a "Punk Version" of this sounded like. KIck Ass RnR...

  • He is totally digging it but still has the presence of mind keep his glasses safe from becoming airborne. I can't help but wonder where he is today.

  • @muskratbill

I was just thinking that. He'd be about my age now, mid-late fifties!. He always reminds me of the Milky bar kid. :)

  • Folks in audience going bananas...as well they should.

  • robert plant doesnt know wats goin on at de begginin hahaha

  • I'm over 9000 yrs old, and I like Led Zeppelin.

  • Espectacular

  • Oh, How i wish i was that kid who headbanged his glasses off at this concert...

  • Comment removed

  • At 3:27 the guy is holding the glasses in his hand. Much safer to headbang without them.

  • :-)

  • lol.that kid trying to headbang with his glasses :)

  • Ooops! At 1:17 Jimmy almost walked into Robert with his guitar there, nice save though with the quick turn.

  • When comes to the matter of Rock n Roll, it does not matter if a band has a bad set or is technically proficient with their instruments, or how they dress, or who they are as people. The only thing that matters is that they ROCK! And Led Zeppelin truly rocks! That's why they are so highly regarded as one the worlds greatest bands.

  • The doors, black sabbath, and led Zeppelin fuckin rock!

  • 1:49 to 1:56 LOL!!!!

  • fuck you the doors suck ass led zeppelin was looked up to by ALL bands past present future

  • i love that at 3:28 when robert does that like awesome headbang neil

  • led zeppelin were fucking gods

  • Way better than the studioversion

  • :D :D how old is the audience at average?!? fucking elementary school there

  • Joe 90 headbanging in the audience.

  • I love zep, who, stones and beatles. I think they're all godlike in their own ways!

  • Robert Plant is SUCH A BADASS lead

  • I love the camera effects on a lot of Zeps videos. I'm sure that the waves and general trippiness simulate being at the show...

  • @Gyphia HAHA! I got it!!

  • le rock.....;dans sa fusion

  • I respect Led Zeppelin; but not as much as I like/respect AC/DC. Long live rock n roll.

  • @voldmerot Hey man... I mean to each his own and all... But AC/DC only has *one* sound. Don't get me wrong, they do it great. But AC/DC reuses alot of the same things in most of there songs.. Led Zeppelin has such a wide range of styles.. And Jimmy Page is just technically a better guitar player than Angus Young. More refined, and much faster. Not flamin' you or anything, just givin some perspective yo.

  • @DistortedBMinor I understand. But the reason I like AC/DC is because of that uniformity in style that they possess. Just because they play music thats simple to play doesn't make them unskilled musicians. I imagine they are just as brilliant at their art as anyone else. They've been playing atleast 30 years now after all. Angus Young once said that the reason they play simple music is so anyone on "the street" could relate to it. With Led Zeppelin I find I can hardly relate.

  • @voldmerot Yeah I totally get that. Rock on man lml>.<lml

  • @DistortedBMinor Same to you. I half expected you to flame me to death. LOL.

  • @voldmerot Psh. There's enough assholes on youtube. No need to join em.

  • @DistortedBMinor I agree. Long live rock 'n' roll, in any case.

  • the birth of headbanging!

  • @deadAsShit999 OH HECK YEAH! That camera shot at 3:27? This was January of 1970 and that whole front row is headbanging. Wish I could see more of that backstage shot at 0:50 where everyone is doing more of that hippie freak-out dancing common back then.

  • 3:27.....what a view

  • Communication Breakdown lyrics Hey, boy, stop what you're doin'! Hey, boy, you'll drive me to ruin. I don't know what it is that I like about you, but I like it a lot. Won't let me hold you, Let me feel your lovin' charms. [Chorus] Communication Breakdown, It's always the same, I'm having a nervous breakdown, Drive me insane! Hey, boy, I got something I think you ought to know. Hey, babe, I wanna tell you that I love you so. [ I wanna hold you in my arms, yeah! I'm never gonna let y
  • mosh pit? head banging? heavy metal?

  • @MrSistermaryelephant yeah it was invented a lot time ago, by my generation I am proud to say ;-)

  • Wats bigger?

Plants head or Bonzo's kick drum?

  • Anyone see that kid at 1:24 headbangin his glasses off? lmao must have had some awesome parents at the time.

  • @EyMeng hahhaha awesome XD

  • @EyMeng

I always think his parents were very conservative and didn't like the music of led zeppelin at all (hence his clothes and ordinary glasses).

He problably said on this memorabel night that he went to see an opera or something or even sneaked out the house to see fuckin' led zeppelin!

    Awesume kid man

Everybody who is going crazy at the front of the stage

  • ORGASMS!!!

  • those people are so lucky........i

  • Main riff reminds me a lot Paranoid by Black Sabbath. Just sayin...

  • @mioncba yeah but this came out before

  • @mioncba not even close

  • Comment removed

  • I watched the whole performance and he doesn't actually go back stage he just walks behind one of the stacks for a second. I'm not sure why though.

  • i said it before and ill say it again jimmy page invented thrash

  • @viperlegendkiller Hard rock, actually.

  • @gswzero well thats a given but thrash too :)

  • @gswzero Nah, Zep were responsible for a whole lot more than just bands like Bad Company and Foreigner. Those bands are "hard rock." And the band that was the seed for both of those groups was Free with Paul Rodgers. Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath all created a different facet of heavy metal, even though back then it was just called "heavy rock."

  • @MattHatter I said they invented hard rock (among others), not thrash. That would be probably Black Sabbath doing heavy metal, and Motorhead years later speeding the tempo. But per se, thrash does not have an inventor in the 70s.

  • @gswzero Oh well in that case, yeah.

  • @gswzero

Black Sabbath did NOT invent thrash...i'd say this was the first progenitor of thrash, but a better, later example would probably be highway star.

  • @MattHatter I didn't mentioned Bad Company or Foreigner :) (but I agree that Free paved the way for them).

Let's say Led Zep did the blues part, Black Sabbath the heavy, agree, with Deep Purple in the middle with some jazz and classical parts.

  • @gswzero led zep did everything in that list and more

  • @eatthisvr6 Really? When Led Zep did jazz? Last I check they did rock'n'roll, blues, folk, even country and reggae. I'd say the closest they get to metal is Achille's Last Stand, which can be considered a good proto for power metal. But Communication Breakdown is a hard rock showcase. And a genius one indeed.

  • @gswzero they had jazzy elements even from this concert check out how many more times they go off on a right bender lol

  • GEIL !!!!!!!!

  • Geil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • PEERLESS!!!

  • I would whip out my cock and masturbate if i was there

  • @ 0:05, it looked like Robert was thinking "oh shit, I forgot I need the microphone".

  • @thestranger4812 hahah he didn't even know the song was about to start

  • 2:08 and on..... my favorite bits.... everybody been talkin' my baby, bout the way you mess me round...............

  • Jimmy Page has been always rated within the best 50 rock'nroll guitarrists ever, all of any nobody and pseudo music intelectual can say against that is just crap. Period.

  • Hats off to whoever filmed this. It's so clear. \m/

  • i like black sabbath but led zeppelin destroy them

  • I waaaaaaaaant Plant's haaaaaaaair!!!!!

  • now that's a real crowd!

  • JIMMY'S SKINNY TROUSERS

  • @LesPaulZoso94

    JIMMY'S SWEATER VEST!!!!!!!!

  • Communication Breakdown starts. Plant just came from back stage doin some blow. Oh, were playing now? Alright.

  • One thing people who compare contemporary bands with acts like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Who don't seem to see is the fact that within for example; rock music, almost every contemporary band has been influenced either directly or indirectly by Led Zeppelin. By the same token, you shouldn't blindly state that they were the absolute pinnacle of everything. There are plenty of videos out there where you see them in a sour light in terms of performance. They could admit their bad days though.

  • @TrueRahf Thank you for your wisdom,i never said anything bad about Led Zeppelin there influence on todays music, and me is unquestionable. However after listening to Led Zeppelin for almost two years straight,I simply felt it was time to move on and enjoy the benefits of there contribution.

  • @TrueRahf Maybe Robert and Jones could... But Page never did.

  • @TrueRahf absolutely. i.e. page's soloing simply sucks SHIT in some performances.

i'm not saying that to dismiss zeppelin, but in all fairness and honesty...

  • @keeelane true but other times he was simply untouchable

  • @eatthisvr6 yeah.

he's always been more of a producer/composer in my book, tho.

zappa sucked on the guitar too...

  • @keeelane thats where i REALLY disagree yes hes a good producer etc but hes an absolutely fantastic guitarist iv heard 3 people that make the axe sing hendrix page and to a lesser extent clapton. there are plenty of excellent technical guitarists but very very few that can improv or make the guiter sing like them guys do/did

  • @eatthisvr6 maybe you oughta hear more guitarists.

i know tons of guys who can wipe the floor with jimmy page playing wise; they're just not anywhere near famous.

  • @keeelane

Agreed, there are legions of technically proficient guitarists, and if it hadn't been Led Zeppelin to push hard rock to its ultimate consequences someone else would eventually.

BUT... why not try come to terms with the fact that it WAS Led Zeppelin who did that?

We all already know JP's bad moments, we just choose to overlook them. And that's because the good ones are just too damn good. He's probably not the best, but don't tell me he's not unique.

  • @totalmassretain everyone's unique...

  • @keeelane

    not musically.

  • @totalmassretain you cannot play the exact same sound exactly the same way each time, do you disagree? therefore everyone makes unique sounds...

  • @totalmassretain "musically"? that's completely subjective.

  • @TrueRahf absolutely. i.e. page's soloing simply sucks SHIT in some performances.

i'm not saying that to dismiss zeppelin, but in all fairness and honesty...

  • @TrueRahf I think this might be the most objective and best comment ever posted, although as I am informed, I can say that Zeppelin are the pinnacle of music!

  • @TrueRahf True and SAME THING with Hanoi Rocks, a band who influenced Appetite For Destruction and all glam rock/metal bands who happened to absorb in a way Hanoi Rocks's popularity. You should check them out!

  • @Phaellos I saw them live in 2008 ;). Good tip though. Michael Monroe is a very charismatic frontman.

  • @TrueRahf But Led Zeppelin was influenced by The Doors.

  • @GoodKid60 I agree with this statement. Especially in their latter half of albums. Still, they are original enough to hold their own.

  • @DistortedBMinor So what i'm saying is that the doors were more b.a. since even the legendary led zeppelin looked up to them. if jim morrison hadn't died, they would still be the biggest band since their time.

  • @GoodKid60 Only thing I'd have to say if the doors were still together, they would probably look up to zeppelin too!

  • @GoodKid60 I agree :D Rock on dude!

  • Was this at the Oakland Coliseum in the summer of 1970?

  • @snthomas64 Royal Albert Hall in England, 1970. You can find this song on the Led Zeppelin DVD.

  • @snthomas64 Royal Albert Hall, England, January 1970.

  • led zeppelin shits on slayer

    and pretty much everyone else...

  • @scoob228 Yes,I did. If the only reason you don't like paramore is because of Hayley Williams, then you need to grow up. Led Zeppelin is my favorite band, but I also love paramore.

  • @alezTV Did i insult Led Zeppelin? I think not,Jimmy Page is a god,Josh Farro is awesome! John Bonham is a god,Zac Farro is also a god,Led Zeppelin is amazing,Paramore is awesome.

  • @mrawsomePERSOn65 did you seriously just put Led Zeppelin and Paramore in the same sentence?

  • 1:24 old school headbanging

  • weneva i listen to tis song....its like takin 2 litres of super strong caffeine..... i wanna jump arnd and dance arnd and mosh everything arnd.... hell yeah!!!!!!!!

    LZ FOREVA......

  • Dude, AWESOME vocals...

Plant was in a very good shape...

  • @dav5644 he still

  • @fouremoi No, he doesn't.... I listened the 2008 concert in the O2 in London... his voice is irrecognizable...

  • @dav5644 hes old now ....in this vid hes very young there is a big difference mate.

  • @dav5644 i wonder why that didnt happen to Ozzy

  • Great Band, Possibly Greatest of my time. Not like most bands, Most bands you can tell their sound, but not L.Z

Check out my version of Immigrant Song, and since I've been loving you, both live concert. Page does blues work on Since I've been loving you and baby please come home that is off the charts. I also like "Ten Years After".

  • improve is what defines a true artist

  • This show is their best one I've seen so far. Madison Square Garden in 1973 is too much of "music artifacts".

  • @sinning1966

i completely agree. this is just more raw and exciting.

the sound is also just, huge.

  • Okay guys no doubt led zeppelin were great(and one of my greatest influences). But good music does exsist in the world today just look up joe bonamassa! Also paramore, the classic crime, emery, thursday, and house of heroes,no disrespect to the greats like zeppelin and cream but dont trash all of modern music just because of lady gaga and katy perry!

  • @mrawsomePERSOn65 DONT YOU EVER COMPARE OR USE PARAMORE IN THE SAME SENTENCE OR PARAGRAPH AS THE LED ZEPPELIN!!!!!!!! YOU FUCKING IDIOT

  • @mrawsomePERSOn65 you're a fuck

  • @1rhmsf69 To say that Led Zeppelin out of all the millions of bands in the world is the best just shows your ignorence. Im not hating on Led Zeppelin, just saying you hardcore Led Zeppelin fans are really narrow-minded.

  • @mrawsomePERSOn65 Take it you didn't actually listen to this then?

  • @Mikeisbored1990 Why yes,I did. The only reason i was here listening to it was because my Led Zeppelin dvd is to scratched up to play.

  • im crying.. this is so awesome!!!!!

  • Forget the rest, Zep is where it began and ends.

  • where was this show ?

  • @lakat100 london, royal albert hall ´70

  • @garfielddd21 thx very much

  • Bonzo RIP

  • i am spellbound...even now by Led Zep

  • awesome

  • I like it how Robert is like "oh fuck" when the song starts.

  • Can you imagine being in the audience? Leaning right up onto the front of the stage just rocking out to Zeppelin. Must have been amazing.

  • hey anyone know if on the fast notes at the beginning if jimmy is playing them all down strokes or an up down picking?? thanks:)

  • @LedZeppRox13 hey there! im mnot sure wat pagey does but i use downstrokes

  • @eatmydustco thanks:) yeah i think hes doing downstrokes. i love this song! haha

  • this is my idea of the perfect concert.

  • This band owns metal and rock.

  • @LambofIronSlayer fuck yeah man!!! As i see ur a thrasher like me and god damn!!!! Led Zep is fucking awsome!!

  • i've actually been wondering if i should cut my hair, it's getting pretty long now... but after watching this, i have decided not to! :)

    ALL HAIL ZEPPELIN!!

  • jimmy looks like some form of an early punk rocker, hey maybe punks copied his style of dress

  • I can say this will full confidence as a straight man: Robert Plant IS sex.

  • É incrivel como as grandes bandas tocavam muito bem tanto ao vivo quanto em estúdio. Não como essas porcarias de Justin Biba, Cine, Restart, etc etc

  • muito bom bohan na batera

  • oh my goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood amaziiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing \m/

  • this is technically heavy metal but it is leaps and bounds better than anything that comes out today called metal

  • @Magicquickfingers yeah, I like this stuff alot more than todays "metal" I don't know how to explain it but hard rock or classic metal just seemed to have more color... you know what I mean? now its just the same sounding distortion, same inaudible screaming and same power chords and dress sense, its all so contrived and honestly lame

  • Plant is just plain effete, impuissant, and gay. Oy.

  • @hungerinamerica Knocks anything modern into a cocked hat, though doesn't it?

Anyone since who rocked like this? I think not.

  • @hungerinamerica And, for a gay man, he had nobbed more women than you have ever seen.

  • My God they sounded good in 1970!!!!!!

  • aaaahh you gotta love heavy metal back in the early 70's

old heavy metal is gold heavy metal

  • @zeldaplayer15 this is not heavy metal

  • Comment removed

  • jimmy page rules

  • i actually liked led zeppelin best whn they were first starting...like this. look at them...theyre all nervous yet they r the biggest band on earth at this point

  • lol, look at the geek in the crowd at 1:37, he probaly mistaked the date for a starwars convention.

  • @Abe91195 star wars didnt exist in 1970 the first movie came in 1977, anyways, Zeppelin Rules!!

  • their hair should have stayed like this. This is soooooo freakin heavy.
