@chicaoriginale Yeah I didn't mean to propose the contrary. It seems like they didn't really care who won. She was showing him cards in her hand, too. I suppose they ended up sharing the money anyway.
Isn't he the better player? Shouldn't she scoop to him so they make the most money out of the tournament? He triggers Oran for her and lets triggers slide...wtf?
i dont think even attacking with a llanowar elf is a good play at all, much less blocking and wasting one i dont know how there decks work so i could be wrong.
Either way losing a mana source is not an advantage... I was wondering why did she do that to but... maybe she did it cause she has sure that he won't block and could deal one free damage. The thing I can't understand is why did he blocked?
I have been playing this green deck for so long now. With the monuments, and the nissa's and the chosens. The good thing about it Is I run red? to earthquake your team? Or bolt your elders?
Why don't you guys try an even better version, black/ green with bloodghasts, nissa chosen, sac lands and lord of extinction.
That's 1 game where there's no point in splitting - they're going to end up "splitting" it anyways so they might as well play it out for the heck of it.
they traded llanowar elves because nether wanted the other to have the extra mana in play, especially when elves have such dangerous cards depending on what elves are in play..
Its like sacrificing a land to destroy one of there lands.
I have problems with Todd letting the sac trigger from Eldrazi Monument slide, because he doesn't refer to this quarterfinals as "[sic] a regular match". I know it's petty, but it's still the top8 of a 5k. Even if Todd forced her to sac the Monument for missing the trigger, she could've played the one in her hand and got in for 2 extra damage.
The sack isn't optional - it has no "may". If you miss the trigger, you NEED to rewind and do it. Like when you forget to draw for the turn, you rewind and draw. You don't ignore it.
Plus, it only sacrifices if you can't sacrifice a creature. If you can sacrifice a creature, you have to. No ifs, buts, or maybes about it.
It didnt even matter who won! If wife wins, she gets the money. If husband wins, she gets the money...

Theres alot of glare on the cards in the centre of the table, narration would really help. Even just flashing up text with the cards would be good.

Anyway, I like the fact that those nissa decks are winning. More diversity is a good thing.

If not it sure as hell seems like she did. I counted 7 cards hitting the table but on one of them she drops two instead of one. Hmm

@mystik4289 Pause at 0:09 and count, she drew seven.

What do you mean? You are supposed to draw seven at the start of each game... Didn't get the point...

The never mulligan due to mana.
R/G and G/W did poorly compared to MonoG. And hitting BB in a B/G deck just seems horrible.
Ok. You Bolt. So? You still lose.

I wouldn't have traded the Lanowar either. Seems like such a waste.
Forgive my ignorance, but what format is this? Standard?
Seems surprising that two decks such as those (piloted by people who WOULD trade Lanowar elves) made it to the end.
VictoryforIsrael 2 years ago
Yes it was standard, the sad part is the guy is on the US Nationals team this year.

she can sac though so eldrazi wouldnt have to die. She would get a warning and have to sac a creature.

Who the hell forgets to draw? Most people I know are eager enough to draw that they do it before anything else....which I tend to yell at them for.
ASecretToEveryone 2 years ago
do you have any highlights of the tourney besides this deck?
smalltownmagic 2 years ago
if he says that whoever plays the monument wins (which he said in some other vid), then why did trade elfs at the beginning.
He might've had a chance if he didnt do that.
jwmints 2 years ago
@jwmints Trading Llanowar Elves was a gamble that I wouldn't have taken.
kariido1 2 years ago
He traded so that she would lose a creature to sacrifice as well. It would have helped to know what was in his hand at the time.
