  • Thanks Justin, S&S and J&P cycles for doing this video--You make it look easy but might just buy parts and let a mechanic do the install.

  • Excellent Video.. Thanks! I've saved ti for later. I have a brand new 2012 Electra Glide Classic.

Will be easing into making changes... Exhaust and Stage 1 for now. Lots of bolt-on changes to make it mine. I'll have this video playing beside me when I do the cams eventually.

    Keep up the good work!!

  • Very informative. Gives me the confidence to tackle mine. Thanks

  • If I am replacing just the tensioner pads on an 02 night train, do I still need to replace the cam bearings? Thanks

  • @jamn83 Need to? No. Recommended? Yes. The bike obviously has some miles on it if you're changing the shoes so you might as well replace the bearings while you're in there. Part number J&P part # 431-579 (S&S Cycle Twin Cam Camshaft Installation Kit) comes with everything you'll need to replace them.

  • clean the treads before applying loctite...

  • Vid's like this helped me build my motor when I upgraded from 88 to 95. I watched it a number of times. I've wrenched on stuff all my life and manuals are great but never give you the whole picture.

  • Excellent video. The cam change is to a higher performance cam.

  • Nice video. .. What does replacing the cams do in terms of performance?

  • easy to understand, really good speech and detail, thank you very much mr justin

  • Excellent video i will buy all my bike stuff from JP and S&S from here on out. this guy explained it so any shade tree mechanic can do it. great job Thanks for posting this video

  • I take my hat off to you guys at JPCYCLES. I would have to say that was one of the best "How To" demonstration / videos ive seen. I find myself going back to watch it over and over again and picking up new things everytime. Well done guys. I was originally only going to install chrome rocker covers and lifter blocks but after watching this detailed vid, Im pretty confident that i can do the cams/ bearings aswell. Im just in the process of getting the right tools together. Keep em coming boys

  • Awesome video! and yes me too...im going to buy my stuff from j&p cycles......wonderful video....i want to learn how toreplace my drive belt on my heritage softail....actually all my maintenance....u have more videos?

  • Amatures, Cutting parts is a shade tree tecnique.

  • @MrMotortech Ok mister motortech you prob are the only guy that likes wasting time & money taking the tank/top end off. I would have to say my my time is worth more then a set of stock pushrods maybe yours isn't but thats cool.

  • WHY does it stop @ 4:00 minutes?

  • @RRTRIP The video is 57 minutes long - if it was stopping at 4 minutes there must have been an error on Youtube's end. Just checked it and everything is working fine now.

  • Well done! Thank you very much for the informative, well made video. And no obnoxious music!

  • This video is badass.I just had this work done at my local Harley dealer with S&S products and the different from stock is unbeliveable.I now understand what work was done.I have been buying S&S products since 1984 with nothing but great performance. Thanks,

  • Simply the best!!

  • THIS is how youtube works.I have questions, your video had almost an hour worth of answers, for FREE... guess where I'm going to go if/when I'm ready to try this myself? J&P and S&S, because they showed me how to do it, in superb detail. Awesome video.

  • @lilrara11804 Thank You! That is the exact reason we provide/produce videos like this and it is the same reason we have actual technicians on staff to answer tough/complex/unique questions through live chat or over the phone. We are here if you need us!

  • @lilrara11804 I,M THINKING WHAT WOULD HAPPENED IF A PIECE OF METAL FALL INSIDE WHILE HE IS CUTTING THE PUSH ROD , THAT WOULD BE A MAJOR PROBLEM . I WILL NOT DO THAT IF IS WAS A AIR PLANE I WAS FIXING . I THINK IT S A SHOT CUT BUT A COSTLY ONE IF METAL ENTER IN , WITH FRICTION WOULD CAUSE A HELL OF A PROBLEM . JUST SAYING

  • @bonehead1603 i've seen it in other vids too. It usually seems to make a pretty clean cut. Obviously you wouldn't want to saw it or anything... and yeah, please don't fix airplanes that way , LOL.

  • Justin has golden hands, recording is excellent, I like it.

  • Excellent. Made it very easy to understand for the lay home-tuner. I was very skeptical that I would be able to do my own cams and adjustable pushrods, but after watching this and hearing the great advice, I feel confident that I would be able to do this also, with the proper tools. Thank you Justin and S&S.
