What I don't understand about texting is that if you find yourself exchanging few hundred or even a thousand or more text messages to one person in one hour, why text? Just pick up the damn phone and talk.

yes we have, thank you. how do you know what kind of person she is from a soundbite? you don't know her genius iq, her love of theater, the fact that she donated to her favorite charity or that she is an intelligent well rounded teenager with a great social life and a family that adores her. She will do humanity proud.
Fair enough, my apologies, though you have to admit that - especially given the sterotype of americans - things like high IQ, theater and what not are not exactly the first things that come to mind when one sees a quarter million people compete in a pointless contest about who can text faster.
