This movie is gold! Great acting, and it is set in the perfect time frame. This is a must see for people with open minds and understandings of different cultures. There are allot of "I don't agree but I understand where they are coming from" moments. Although..... this is not a movie for the kids or people who easily criticize. This movie was ok i mean i didn't expect all the sexual abuse and everything it was too much. The viewers can understand what is going on, i didnt think there was a need to be so explicit. Almost every scene had sexual abuse or something sexual related it was too much.

The film was interesting in general, but the ending was a bit abrupt and disappointing. The trailer makes it look like the filmis about Jazeera in a love triangle with "Mr." Vuoso and her classmate. But her relationships with them are not very close or intimate. The film is really about her teen life, family and racial conflict, puberty, and strange quasiromantic relationships with her adult neighbour and her classmate.

Just saw the movie. Brilliant!
I understand it's mostly autobiographical, in which case, I praise the writer, director, actors and crew, for sharing this girl's struggle with us.
Interesting to see how she in fact embraced her own sexuality, even amongst such seemingly, normal Americans.
The ending clinched it.

This movie was ok i mean i didn't expect all the sexual abuse and everything it was too much. The viewers can understand what is going on, i didnt think there was a need to be so explicit. Almost every scene had sexual abuse or something sexual related it was too much.

This movie really irritated me. Some parts were good but when it comes down to it, it was just disturbing. If you're a woman and you've been sexual abused- you may not want to see it.

basic storyline is that a girl moves to live with her father and she gets all fucked up (lol, no pun intended) by the creepo living next door.
that's the very core of it. it's a good film altogether! tackles different issues like race and underage sex. worth watching

This movie was deep, and a little disturbing just the way I like it. Seriously though this was a great film. I recommend watching it by yourself though, not a family movie lol.

The film was interesting in general, but the ending was a bit abrupt and disappointing. The trailer makes it look like the filmis about Jazeera in a love triangle with "Mr." Vuoso and her classmate. But her relationships with them are not very close or intimate. The film is really about her teen life, family and racial conflict, puberty, and strange quasiromantic relationships with her adult neighbour and her classmate.
