this game wasn't that bad to me. It's like one of those games you can talk on the phone with someone and play the game half paying attention and still have fun. It gets more repetitive toward the end, but for $20 i think it was fun and totally worth it.
I think I'd probably like this game and give it a 9 out of 10. I have tendency to like games that everyone hates, like Dynasty Warriors, Suikoden 4, and Final Fantasy 8.

Why should cost of a game factor into your rating of a game? If you get the game at a discount is your experience somehow better than if you paid full price?
@bagelobo It doesn't effect the experience you have as you play the game but its more of a "was the amount of time and energy you put into the game worth it ?" sort of thing. For example many reviewers were torn between how good "Heavenly Sword" was. Great game but I think it was around 3 hours to complete the game (amazingly short). So think about spending $60 for a game and coming home...beating it in 3 (fun & entertaining) hours but never touching it again. Was it worth the money?
As usual, there's some flaw with every game. There's no such thing as "The Perfect Game".
I can't imagine there being a sequel to a story like this, especially since I don't know the Book of Enoch. But, if there will be a sequel, maybe it'll be better.

Games should be able to have a learning difficulty.
For example, combat is easy during the beginning, but as you get better at the game, the combat gets tougher and more challenging, ala Assassin's Creed.
Not "select a higher difficulty for better combat".

I haven't read or heard any reviews of this game. I didn't even know this game even existed before DSP uploaded the playthrough! And still, ever since i watched him entering the tower, i started feeling almost exactly the same way about this game.

Some reviewers see their job to be based only on opinion while Phil's view is to compare a game with everything out there with some of his opinion but that doesn't rule his scores.
I think a way to review games is on the vein of what Giant Bomb does, they know they have to give it a score but they also know that that score should not stop you from trying a game out and loving it.
I think that Lucifel has a cellphone because being an angel they can travel anywhere in time which is also the reason why Him and Enoch have designer clothes as well.

@reaperthehedgehogPRO I'm actually thinking somewhat along the same line as you, in that you can disagree, but never declare an opinion being wrong. BUT, I've seen too many reviews written (having playing El Shaddai, myself) based on bad information. Massively inflated score aside, even the articles themselves are objectively bad due to said information. Or maybe it's the art that totally hooked 'em in. Okami's a beautiful game, but it's also coherent, unbroken game, so there's that.

@DSPGaming I can name the Assassin Creed franchise which dabbles into religion as a back story, if that's what you asked when you said how many games went into religion. However, that game focused more on being an assassin than someone of god, so maybe that's not what you meant.

@RoncalliRules maybe you are right but as a long time fan of Phil's I just wanted to hint at the fact that he often doesn't go into depth when reviewing the games including other difficulty levels and possible other ways to play the game besides the one he chose to follow .

Yeah he should do that, but when you're doing that he probably cant make that happen with his schedule, cuz what you just said takes a lot time and he already is very boss so dont get yur hopes up to high.
And games that the actual gameplay is different when you pick another difficulty are rare. :P

@DarkPhantomSky - If that's the scenario. Then game difficulty should be abolished. Instead, they should have no difficulty and have a default setting like Assassin's Creed, which doesn't have a difficulty setting.
Games should be able to have a learning difficulty.
For example, combat is easy during the beginning, but as you get better at the game, the combat gets tougher and more challenging, ala Assassin's Creed.
Not "select a higher difficulty for better combat".

I haven't read or heard any reviews of this game. I didn't even know this game even existed before DSP uploaded the playthrough! And still, ever since i watched him entering the tower, i started feeling almost exactly the same way about this game.
So i see why Phil disagrees with a ridicilous 9/10 score XD

@reaperthehedgehogPRO Well in this case with such a discrepancy on the scores I think he was right to disagree.
Some reviewers see their job to be based only on opinion while Phil's view is to compare a game with everything out there with some of his opinion but that doesn't rule his scores.
I think a way to review games is on the vein of what Giant Bomb does, they know they have to give it a score but they also know that that score should not stop you from trying a game out and loving it.

I think that Lucifel has a cellphone because being an angel they can travel anywhere in time which is also the reason why Him and Enoch have designer clothes as well.
"Graphical design, in Art Design whatever it's called for games" did Phil actually read my comment on this? wow looks like he might have. It is Art Direction by the way for video games.
