this is probably the best contra game. Its faster and more exciting than the snes version but there's a tradeoff: its MUCH harder.

Wow, this the the only Segen game I've ever seen that has "mode 7 graphics" or "blast processing" (whatever you wanna call scaling and rotation). And that boss chase was the jam!! A very interesting prospective. Skills!!

@tigresuave11 There's actually quite a lot of games that have some impressive Rotation scaling fx on the Mega Drive/Genesis, heres's some good examples:

Alien Soldier

Gunstar Heroes

Mega Turrican

Castlevania Bloodlines

Adventues of Batman & Robin

I'd say that the Adventures of Batman & Robin is the most impressive as there's shit loads of rotation fx throughout the entire game. =)

i just realized that this game is on crack!!! its is SO FAST!!!! It does use the sega genesis' potential to the max!! too bad games can't be made like this like the good ole days! everything now is made to be passed easily its hard to find challenging new gen games now. the only ones i could think of is contra4, metal slug series, and marvelvs.capcom2. those games are the ones that are easy to play but tough as shit to master!!!! WE NEED MORE OF THOSE!!!

I think this game is better then contra III. I feel Contra III is a tougher, more hardcore game, but i just have so much fun with this game. Theres multiple characters to choose from with different weapons, Theres the great music, the Choices that lead to different endings and Constant Crazy Explosions and stuff. This game is definately better and more fun in my opinion.

I literally grew up with this game as a kid. I was always Brownie(Funny name for a robot). My favorite gun was his V-gun, and the Yo-yo. I was an absolute maniac about this game. It sure brings back a lot of good memories watching this. Thanks for showing the vid.

It's funny. I come into work monday to friday and before I can be arsed to work I make a cup of tea or coffee, do my mail and then either play some music vids on here or watch all these Contra vids. I am both sad and obsessed lmao but fuck it I love this game!
