  • i tried that a while ago before i had a plug spinner, and the damn torque wrench cut my hand -.- (homemade and too lazy to round off the edges, i guess i had that one coming lol )

  • or just stick a flippin credit card in the side lol

  • the rubber band doesnt work for me :)

  • A real plug spinner spins in a circular motion with constant pressure. The rubber-band shoots in a straight line with just a small area where it can create speed and pressure before it looses contact with the wrench. That's why the plug has got to be set just a hair before the sheer-line.

  • smart.

  • nice.screw paying for them overpriced spinners from websites!make your own!!!

  • great vid! I never thought about using a rubber band. This vid makes me want to get a keychain pick.

  • so with this kind of lock u cant pick it then turn it the other way and unlock it without the rubber band?

  • hey ways i think it's a good idear well done

  • please be advice music not help the beginner..because we need to know how it feel or what sound to listen to when pin release...so just want you to let you know...

  • If your hearing music in this vid, I would suggest that you turn YOUR radio down/off.

And if your still hearing music after that it's probably in your head and you should go see a doctor.

  • i cant get it to work

  • Genius, best video I've seen all day. You don't know how many locks I had to pick twice cuz I didn't have a plug spinner.

  • hey thts my door (im scared lol jk)

  • if the fridge is on the porch then why did you need to get inside? ;)

great idea, better then the mouse trap springs!

  • The one inside is for food, the one on the porch is for the beer! Then there's another in the shop, in the shed, and the basement. Weeee!

  • ha ha touche.

  • is that the metal jack-knife from southord?

  • no it is not

  • i c

  • Yea it's from SouthOrd, but I got it cheaper from another company on the net (I for get who) so shop around. Had it for about a year and always carry it.

  • i use that method instead of buying a spinner.. it works just as well for me.

  • that is so brilliant... you can use a rubber band to open those chain locks (i don't know what they are called... they are on the inside of the door and you see them in movies where the guy is in a bad neighborhood ya know and he opens the door and the chain stops it from opening all the way... well anyway yeah do you know what I'm talking about?

  • Yup, the old rubber band & thumbtack trick. Works good on wooden doors with minimal damage. But most modern doors are either composite or metal. There's also a "flip-it" type tool for the solid hinge type lock like this.

    Video you ask?...maybe...

  • yeah, have you seen that lockpicking for the new millennium movie... thats where i learned it, for metal doors, use magnet instead of a thumbtack. and yeah i check emails late (like now) so im out of it allot! (wow actually its morning where i live) thats why my last comment was probably hard to understand (-:

  • Wow! I wouldn't have thought to do that! Thanks for the info!

  • This works amazingly well, great video Bruno!

  • instead of using the rubber band just smack the bar with your hat, just grab the bill of the hat and hit the bar like you would if you was smacking a fly on your wife's shoulder.

  • you shouldn't put it right before the shear line you'll have and momentum having all the way turned back and its easy to just use the old hat trick, which is taking your hat off at the same time and hitting your pressure bar

  • I put it close to the sheer line because a rubber band shoots in a stright line and dosen't follow the turning radius like a real plug spinner. All the speed and momentum from the rubber band would be right at the begining in this application.

Also, I don't understand the "hat trick", could you explain more or post a vid?

  • You will bend your tension wrench doing this if it dosen't Flip the plug to the other side of the shear line!

  • Na, not that strong of a rubber band. It has more speed than power.

  • I actually had to try this at a customers house and my plug spinner crapped out on me. Thanks for a 2 cent plug spinner bro!

  • Glad I could help.

  • I guess that rubber bands really do have their 15 minutes of fame. I've also used them to replicate a feather touch tension wrench just by wrapping it around the end and stretching it a little. works great.

  • nice video. nice ingenuity.

  • Doesn't that hurt your tension wrench?

  • I guess it might if you do it all the time. I was just showing that this technique works great in a pinch.

But still tension wrenches are way cheaper than plug spinners.

  • that was so cool. lol such a nice little trick to have in ur bag

  • nice work.

  • thats sweet

  • nice trick

  • Nice video Bruno.

  • nice vid by the way, why is the plug to the side like that in locked position?

  • I don't know I thought it was weird too, but her front door is the same way.

  • I was just in Lowe's today and I noticed all the Schlage "Duckbill" locks are in the half turn position. Kinda weird.

  • man, those schlage locks love to be picked open in the wrong direction for some reason

  • Any chance of seeing you pick an American 1105? I've been beatin' my head for week, trying to pick one, with no luck. Would like to see someone else's approach - maybe I can learn a few things. Thanks - great work. SRV - not bad for a skinny whiteboy from Texas.

  • very nice trick, awesome!

  • Awsome video, Great idea!

  • nice bruno, another well made video.

  • Thats soo cool! I was picking my friend's car that they had locked the keys inside of, I picked it with a full ball...I picked it the wrong way and had to restart and umm anyways, would that work on car locks?? Maybe i'll try, thanks bruno

  • I'm not so sure, not so much into car locks.

  • Oh well I'll try it later on and let you know how it goes :)

  • Thats one of the cooliest things i've seen so far bout locks. nice vid

  • So let me ask you..on the Schlages..do you jiggle that half-diamond or rake it - or both?

  • Every lock unique, even out of the same factory and keyed alike! But yea, on this paticular lock it was alot of jiggling, some SPP, and no raking. Buy the way- SRV- is tops!

  • who great idea. imma try it. nice vid come check out mine.
