  • This guy reminds me of Mike Park, especially with the lovely pooh stickers on his guitar ^_^

  • Dude, this is not in a homosexual way or anything, but you seem like the nicest guy around. I love your humor and postive spirt.

  • why dont you use ur mixer for recording if it has panthom power on it ?

    desame thing :) i guess

  • Hi!! I just bought the FireWire firebox but I don't how to get it work in the computer, like audio set up and stuff like that! And I use them in fl studio. Pls help....

  • Noticed one lenovo notebook on the left,i have one SL500 and THANKS GOD im getting rid of it,got me a macbook pro finally, lenovos never again.

  • lol you really should have just had the huge finger pointing at stuff to make it look really ickle! top demo! ;]

  • Drinks or liquids of any kind on your audio desk is always a bad idea. Someday you will regret it. Please heed my warning. It can ruin your whole day and cost you a lot of money.

  • Nice vid! Oh, and thanks for the invite! ;)

  • jus a quick question..........

with a condenser mic plugged into that art tube mp project series preamp... would you have the impedance switch on

  • nice setup

  • AWWWW THE STICKERS ARE CUTE :) LOL

  • I have a question...Does the preamp plug into the interface? What exactly is a preamp used for?

  • @TheSecrecyOfSolitude it has a lot of uses..you can use it to make an XLR to an 1/4..or viceverse...it is primmary used to amplify the mic sound or to give it a kind of effect..in a bass drum mic we use it to make the bass more punchy and to have more attack..etc etc..

  • nice. so you have to edit the audio and video together from separate sources? i think it would be difficult to sync a guitar audio to a vid this way on iMovie, has anyone tried it or know what the best programs are for this?

  • does that preamp work good with the Perception mic? Also can u post a Vid with preamp in use... maybe a comparison video with preamp on and off??

  • @ESOBOY9800 thanks for your question - without the preamp, the Perception mic just won't work. Basically, it "powers" the mic too - using phantom power. I have a few vids where I use the Perception mic. The others are using a Shure SM58 (also powered by the same preamp). Keep in mind, the preamp is cheap in comparison to others on the market. There are better ones, but for home use, I found it adequate. Hope this helps.

  • @ESOBOY9800 Doesn't the Firebox have +48v Phantom power? I'm pretty sure it does. Actually, let's just say it does. There's a little +48v button on the face of the unit.

  • i like this!! except i never use a computer recording never got to that ...i have a eight track i wanna get a four track for some drum sounds ti be recorded on tape!

  • LMAO!

This is my condenser mic, cubase, audio I/O oh and my coffee!

  • is that guitar pickup intrusive? or does it just sorta clamp on?

  • @Krzrk1man not intrusive.. it just clamps on and is under the strings where the guitar hole is.

  • Nice explanation :). How is the quality of the ART tube mp? Gtx

  • HELp! did your laptop have a firewire port or did you use and adapter? im planning to buy a firebox but i dont have a FW port :(

  • @Equestional I actually use the firewire port on my PC now, but having said that I previously have used my laptop (and it worked well). I did buy a firewire card that fits the PCMCIA slot of the laptop - I have the Adaptec AFW-1430A card (which I read somewhere as being one of the recommended cards).

  • @outrageousthoughts thanks alot!!!

  • im getting the art tube mp studio mic preamp for 30 bucks and an audio interface for 60 i would like to know how the preamp plugs into the audio interface so i could use it on my pc

  • @BludStatic123 It's fairly simple (fortunately). The output of the preamp goes into one of the inputs of the audio interface. :)

  • Hi, Very nice Video. Yes, Nice Stickers as well :) . Well, I am in need of some help and would be very thankful if you help me out in setting up my presonus Firebox. I have a Sony Viao Laptop and I don't know why even after plugging in the firebox to the laptop it's not recognized. Could you please share your computer configuration as in Which Motherboard etc.. If it's a branded then what's the model number . Thanks in advance :)

  • You shouldn't record the guitar with a pick up. just record it stereo with 2 mics. it sounds a lot better and the dynamics is amazing

  • lol coffee

  • i have that mixer... the sound quality on it is shite!

  • hi i got the AVG 220 Perception Mic & i have Alpha Lexicon Preamp. I have plugged the 3 pin cable from the mic into the preamp & a USB cable that goes into the comp's USB port. im using mixcraft 5 but nothing works. do i need to change the sound devices on the comp cause i tried and it only messes it up. i have spaces for other leads like Line In 1&2/ Line Out L&R & another Line Out L&R but one is white & other is red.

  • dunno if i need more leads or a mixer like u have bt when i sing into the mic nothing records on mixcraft. i dunno what 2 do i can't get the CD instal to do anything it says its installed but nothing actually happens. id appreciate any kind of help thanks :(

  • im setting up a small studio of mine i have software and a cakewalk ua1g audio interface. i wanna get a condenser mic much like the one you have there. question is am i going to need a preamp and a phantom power supply for the mic or does the preamp also work as a power supply??

  • i have the same headphones :)

  • Why are you using the mixer for your headphones? the firebox has a headphone out and its zero latency.... Just a thought... ( If you need help with that let me know..)

  • hey i was wonder how your pre amp for the mic is hooked to your interface and mic?

  • nooo ive been using WMm and its not up to par.

  • Thanks for sharing your setup. What camera or cameras do you use? What would you recommend?

  • Which speakers are that???

  • @dmydan96 look like krk rp5 g2s.

  • I just run everything through my ART tube mp and it sounds great, using guitar pro 2 to record and mix

  • nice :)

  • Some nice gear you have :) Hhehehe and coffee can't be missed if you late and still mixing songs :)

  • I got a 99.00 camera and a Taylor,.....it's hopeless.

  • cubase 5 is in the internet dont buy nothing fuck the system dont let it fuck you

  • so cool man, i hope ill have a little setup like that one day

  • You should seriously make another video of the song bubbly. I really like your version!! Your voice is amazing!!!!! Love the set up!!! =]

  • :)) good movie :)) funny presentation :))))))

  • thanks man

  • hey man whats up... so if im recording vocals... an i have a computer an a software program... an a mic... .i will be good if i go out an buy a interface... or do i need a mixer??? can u help me out any man... thanks

  • Having a mixer allows one to channel multiple inputs to multiple output sources. It sounds like you may not need this so you're probably good to go with a mic, preamp, and interface. Please note that some interfaces come with preamps too (this powers the mic). Hope this helps! :)

  • I'm a little confused... Your mic, mixer, preamp, etc are nice, but I have the same pickup and it's really not that good!

I guess it's a little easier than having a mic for the guitar, but I find the sound quality of even an inexpensive mic is better.

  • You're right. The sound quality of the pickup isn't all that great. What you hear on my recordings is a mixture of what's coming from the pickup (higher tinny sound) and the condensor mic (fully body acoustic).

  • hey wsup man! nice studio, but i was wondering if i can just use the pre amp instead of the interface to record songs. and do i need both? oh and do i need to buy seperate wiring for the pre amp?

  • The preamp and audio interface really do serve different purposes. The preamp really "powers" the mic, whereas the audio interface translates the audio signal into digital ones that the computer records.

It gets a little complicated where some audio interfaces now come with integrated preamps (in combination).

    Hope this clears things up.

    Thanks, Peter

  • niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, very cool set up

    luck man, good luck.

  • i have that laptop in the left for the camera... just thought id say that lol

  • Classy lil' studio, haha if I made a video showing my setup.....it wouldn't be a muse coming to my door but a cleaner and yes the coffee is a vital piece of the equipment.

  • nice video

    nice studio

  • I LOVE the stickers. I never grow out of my interest in Pooh Bear haha.

  • amazing, thanks for the vid...

but a question... could you explain me how do i record the video and at the same time the audio, and put them together so i can hear the sound at the same time of the movement? :S

  • Cafe ou Barro..q lixo era akele?

  • This is the EXACT opposite of "talent with no money"

  • thats a very cool set up... great voice and skills.. cheers! ***** Awsome!

  • i have a jam band and we should get that man :)

  • Oh dang! Very nice!!!

  • Lol how cute of Meggie to put stickers on your guitar, and that was really awesome and smart using those smileys on those pieces of paper :D

  • dats some good shit WOW

  • wow... i just record mine using a macbook, the camera is already on the mac, so yea its pretty crap compared to all this...dang!

  • Good luck for you

  • lol and i thought i was smart

  • BAM indeed, my friend. Beautiful set up... seems rather simply in a grossly complicated way (for this ol' mind of mine!)

    Oh to dream ...

  • :) sweet setup i love cubase ... im techno dude too and cubase came out with the first vst stuff like back in the late 90s.. Rockin stickers too thats so Metal Rock on amigo!

  • wow better than my set up lol. I can sumwhat sing but the best songs I sing are by nickleback, 3 days grace, 3 doors down, ect...but when I amplify my voice, I suck...any tips?

  • looks like a good setup...i wish i knew more about things like that...i'm a simpleton when it comes to complicated gadgets..i too was recording video and audio from 2 pcs...it actually worked out well

  • hahhaa-love it!!!!! i need to buy some stuff i guess....

  • ty for posting.. this video will help me a lot !

  • what do you need to have so you can conncet the Condenser Mic to the Computer?

  • An Audio Interface translates the analog signals into digital signals.. in my case, I use a Presonus Firebox.

  • Peter:

Your fretboard looks dry... go get some fretboard oil!!

    S

  • dude... you're face expressions crack me up!

nice fender! but i HAVE to help you on your sound. GET RID OF THE DEAN MARKLEY PICKUP! u have to use a condenser mic! (I'll leave a video comment so u see what i'm using)

i'm using the PreSonus Firebox too! but you DON'T need the Art tube pre. PreSonus is known for amazing pre amps!

  • Thanks for the tip! I do have a condenser mic that picks up most of the guitar (but it wasn't planned that way). I just got a SM58 mic as well, and have been curious as how to integrate things without having to get another preamp - I'll have to experiment with the preamps on the Firebox.

  • great setup for audio recording. I own the LE version too and have it on my laptop, but for my music producion I am still using full version cubase SX 3 cause the consumer LE versions are too limited for my VST tools. (only 16 VSTs at the same time, I need up the 26 - and too less effectplugs). sadly cubase 4 full. has problems with some of my VSTs so I am staying with SX.

  • Awesome set up dude. The beverages (coffee/ tea) are the most essential part. lol

  • Your own television studio- how cool. Does it allow you to multitrack?

  • Most definitely. This is handled via the audio interface as well as in Cubase - so computerized these days. I remember the days of 4 track recorders using audio tape.

  • How about the film side of that?

  • I'm thinking of the way Julia Nunes (Jaaaaaaa) does her clips

  • great set-up!

    who's cobbie callait?

  • very educational

  • Love cofee too and tea. Great video. I haven't found a use for a mixer either since I use a software mixer and a better quality preamp for microphones than usually is provided with a mixer. Fun video to watch. Thank you.

  • Pretty cool. I really need to get me some recording equipment.

  • thanks for the demonstration dude!

    very interesting really!
