I'm a Vanderbilt student and I was so impressed to find out they had had her as an IMPACT speaker. It's not very like them. We also have a ton of Muslim students, and I expected the administration to be too concerned about hurting their feelings to have a speaker like her.

To critisize her is absolutely justified if you have a point, but Its not a mystery that islam is famous for its backwardness. Ayaan speaks the truth about islam like many others, and this is what matters. Or would you say that she is lying about this awful truth of islam? and where?

The reasopn why I said an islamic scholar or imam is because they actually spend a lot of time studying the Qur'an. A lot of the information I see (especially from christian resources) are not correct, very offensive and interpreted wrongly. (although there are few good attempts that do not try to offend anyone or include their own prejudice.

How about stoning women or beating wives. It does happen but it is not part of the religion neither should it be practiced.

Muslims are not trying to clean up the image of Islam, like ayaan is saying. Anything anyone wants to know is there. What I have been taught from my parents and from the Qur'an school is to ask questions. And whenever I wanted to know I looked it.

im not going to predict the future as anythingvcould happen. but if u tell me that in order for a religion to survive it needs to be changed than that says a lot about christianity n others. I'll stick to the same unchanged book that i believe n my ancestors believed in and hopefully my children in the future will do so too.

n besides islam is going strong, and even though it hasn't gone through a reformation, muslims around the world do have some differences and diversity

People embrace islam everyday, and we are growing faster than anyone else. The problems associated with what is human rights violations, as stoning, flogging, cutting off hands and feet, hanging etc, emerge from tenets and doctrines embedded in Islam as a religion. Why can't peoples from societies that accept democracy as an ideology that afford all freedom enjoy the same liberties in predominantly Islamic societies as moslems do in democratic societies, eg United States? The crisis in Islam is fundamental. Humans have rights to do right or wrong with Consequences.
