i love that 'ten seconds more - i think they're smiling' moment. gets me everytime. how weird would it have been to have a casual conversation with Orson Welles? I'd end up calling him by his full name the whole time and gasping after everything he said in that epic voice.
the young honey didn't make off with picasso's 22 paintings, but she did make off with Orsen Welles' estate. Why else would a young honey allow herself to be banged by orson. when will guys ever learn. fools. and I love orson, but please....
Please research a bit about Oja Kodar and how (a) wealthy and (b) well regarded OW was when they started dating (must have been in the late 60s/early 70s). I guess that a girl with her looks could have easily found a wealthier man, had she been so inclined.
Orson's Estate? Orson was always broke, and hustled for dough. THere was no estate. read Orson's daughters book...he was buried by the family in L.A. in a pine box. It angered many of Welles friends that the family had no real ceremony for this great guy. She stayed for 24 years, and after he was gone, was right there trying to conserve his work. What do you think one would do with lots of estate money? Have what kind of life compared to sharing one with orson welles?
@eddtoro typical american response, its not all about looks, especially for women, men are much much more superficial. She was beautiful. but what else? he was brilliant. but what else? i guess that was enough for each other....
The genius (during his early 20's) of Citizen Kane and the Martian Radio Hoax, had lamented somewhat sadly in an interview later in life, saying what others had thought, that he had expected much more from himself. Only near the end of this clip, I began to feel some of the original creative genius of Welles come to life. (Maybe it was an age related success thing?)
orson welles was employing trickery by calling himself a 'charlatan' this film is two decades ahead of its time ,news=illusion,is 'entertainment'. the rise of the z list celebrity. the contempt of welles is a joy.
can we believe ALL we see on news broadcasts?. the current tv quiz show fixes, shows the populace can be fooled.welles said 'they'll love me when i'm dead!'

@eddtoro have you read Christopher, Orson's daughter's, book? If you haven't, you should. You'll find you're pretty wrong about Oja.

Great movie--weird trailer. Funny-but why the heck would he think the studio would accept a super-long trailer with lots of nudity?

This movie as others have mentioned was WAAAAY ahead of it's time just like Orson was.
