The laser treatment is preformed on the cornea. In a one step, no-touch, all-laser prosess the laser first removes the epithelium, which is the outermost region of the cornea. Then in the same treatment the laser removes some of the stroma (which is the next layer of the cornea). The tissue is permanently removed, but the epithelium will grow back after 2-3 days
Is the tissue permanenty removed? Or is it replaced?

After ASA it is permanently removed. It will grow back again very nicely.
