I remember seeing this one with my ex-wife when it came out. We were both sat silent for a while afterwords in shock. This is still the best commercial I have seen and by the looks of what is out now it will remain the best for a long while.
This commercial used to break my heart as a kid; never got the chance to do sports or join any teams due to lack of money and terrible parents...i'd watch this everytime it came on and daydream about how much different i'd be as a person if I was included.
downloaded the music (J. elias) from Itunes....have it on my ipod for when i am running. When i get tired and start to struggle, i listen to this and...keep on moving....
damn i remeber the first time i saw this commercial years ago and it still makes me feel the same way today i love it. please any 1 know what music piece is used in this commercial?
I had to roll back the video after seeing that bridge. Sure enough, that's definitely the Foresthill bridge.
Of course, this being modern America, you can't actually parachute off that bridge without getting arrested. They'll also confiscate your equipment, and the news will report you as a jackass. People have done it (not me).
Unless you're filming a TV commercial, then it's okay apparently. Cool commercial, but people don't really have that much freedom anymore.
One of my all-time favorite commercials. The start of the Olympics tonight reminded me of seeing it during the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic games and how much I loved it. Thank you for posting.
I have it as an MP3. The name of it is "Move" and it's by Jonathan Elias. You may be able to find it on some sharing sites (limewire, etc.) but if you can't then send me a private message with your email and I'll send it to you.
YES!!! figure skaters work just as hard! when we prefom we barley breath because it hurts or makes us unconsentrated so when were done we are breathing really hard & we have to jump really high & have to have endurance & figure skaters have a lot of muscule its just all in thier legs so u dont really notice it!
Back 8 or 9 years ago, during some big meeting, when the top advertising executives at NIKE first saw this finished commercial, I wonder how happy and excited they were...
What a beautiful montage! The images are edited together perfectly with great transitions and a tremendous harmonious song linking it all. Without a doubt the best sports commercial!!
I love this ad, almost as much as the one with the marathon runner running past building that show different sports heroes with soft music in the background (if anyone knows the title, please message me!). This is a great ad, I had it on tape and can't find it now... thanks for posting!
without a doubt one of the best olympic ads ever aired/created. period.
i wish the musician who composed the music for this had a bigger canon of work - i remember that after this aired i tried to look up some of his other stuff, but wasn't that pleased.
Nike does not use sweath shops. Look it up. Not every corporation is evil. I'm guessing you make your own clothes and food and just stumbled on this video by accident.
actually nike did use sweat shops a few years ago but i'm not too sure about it now. watch this mini documentary called "behind the swoosh." i love nike and i have so many nike clothes but now i feel bad for wearing nike.
Children dont work in sweat shops because they are made to its because they need the money for food. They are like american kids where playing games is an everyday thing. You work or you starve. America went through a phase in its development where our children worked but after a time we built industry and children didnt have to work. Buy nike and where them with pride, you're feeding children.
this is perfect. the music, the images, everything. It's just beautiful. Say what you want about nike, but they sure know how to make a good commercial
Thank you so much for posting this commercial. I used to love watching it during the Olympics. It is utter beauty and how often can you say that about a TV ad? Back when it was first aired during the Olympics, I was spellbound whenever I saw the commercial. I have to say that it is just as magical seeing it years later. Thanks again!!!
This is one of my all-time favorite commercials. If you like this, search for "nike gravity" which is out of this same feel. If only more of these were made.
I have driven and walked across the bridge that the guy parachutes from. It is the Auburn-Foresthill Bridge, and is located in Auburn, California, which is just northeast of Sacramento.
Yeah this is pretty much one of my favorite commercials of all time, with some of my favorite commercial music of all time (other fav goes out to J Ralph for "One Million Miles Away" on the Volkswagen ad). And this was directed by one of Ridley Scott's kids no less. Go Figure.
This commercial is simply amazing and also it's very inspiring to get out and "just do it!" This is my # 1 commercial of all time and it was done very well, I am just confused to see how Nike did so well on the project but never made anymore like it.?.?.?
This is a work of art.
