  • I thought the Phantom had one epic laugh <3

  • I always thought it would look badass if someone lit a cigarette while walking from an exsplosion

  • @Lyiend As in with the flames of the explosion

  • @rando12 It was convenient for the plot. Don't you love George Lucas' logic?

  • Actually, George Lucas explained why the fridge survived. He said it was made of lead.

  • @noname76761 Oh, OK... But how did Indiana Jones survive in it? <=\

  • With number 2 I can't help but be reminded oh 'Hotrod.'

  • To be fair, it is possible to overdo slow-motion. It's cool when used wisely, too much and it just looks like you're trying too hard.

  • can't spell slaughter with out laughter

  • i hate MJ cause he got to work with Vincent Price dammit! XD

  • They satarize the evil laugh in The Muppets "Maniacal laugh, Maniacal laugh"

  • 3:10

Well to be fair, Amidala wasn't just his "girlfriend"

She was his true love, his wife, and the mother-to-be of his children.

He wakes up, and is told that he killed her (and presumably their children) in a fit of rage.

The sole reason he started down the path to the Dark side was to protect her.

He betrayed everyone and everything for her, and it was all for nothing.

So under the circumstances, I'd say that "Nooooo" of his was completly justified, and did not make him look weak.

  • @SinnFein4ever

exactly. I mean, if you found out that your wife was dead, and that it was YOUR fault she died, would you just shrug and say "Oh well, I'll just find me another woman?" No, I think you'd have the right to be a little upset.

  • @Usagi1992

    Agreed.

    Thank you.

I love the Nostalgia Critic, but even he can be wrong sometimes.

And...OH GOD DAMN IT, THE STUPID 200 CHARACTER LIMIT IS BACK!

SOMBODY KILL THESE YT TECH GUYS!

  • Ok so whos gonna make a Jokers Laugh's video?

  • and now we have the stupid "no" in the Star Wars Blu-ray

  • Shouldve put in alex and his droogs in the straight line and slow mo parts lol

  • 0:05 a "weal" explosion?

  • Indestructible fridges? That explains how some of the people in Fallout survived. Vaults and fridges.

  • HOW COULD HE NOT REFERENCE EVIL DEAD 2 IN THE NO PART?!

  • In Spider-Man Web of Shadows you can "set" a bomb... so I walk away a little (too near will damage you, too far will not be cool)... change the camera position... and then COOLNESS!! Spider-Man with his badass black suit in front of a explosion which destroy enemies and launches things through the air... even making cars do little extra-explosions!!! AWESOME!!

  • another exception of "No" is from Rise of the Planet of the Apes

  • I agree with evil laughter being so awesome, especially obviously when done right! Red vs blue also parodied it with Dr. Flowers (near the end of season 5) who's trying to find the right pitch which is pretty funny! My favorite evil laugh was easily Malificent's (from Sleeping Beauty), or the Joker's (especially Mark Hamill's), they both were scary and just evil to listen to! You know shit was going down when they started to laugh! The worst evil laugh? Imo, Jafar's from Aladdin, annoying!

  • Cool Guys Walk Away from Explosions!

  • No1? NOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo..........

Damn. I hate this cliché. Well... I hate it since Zack Snyder's overdoing it.

  • @Densaku I personally like it, ESPECIALLY the old school kung fu movies, when it's done right unlike your example (from my impression of your distaste), slow-mo can be super special awesome! Perfect example of well done slow mo? Watch Jackie Chan fight scenes like Police Story 2's playground fight, or wheels on meals, slow-mo done OH so right!

  • I favourite clichès are evil laughter and villains falling to their death.

  • Tbh I liked darth vader s no

  • How does the slow-mo moment beat the evil laugh?

It's only true rival is the femme fatale scream and the gawd-awful roar.

  • How much you want to bet they're going to use the walking in a straight cliche in the new avengers movie.

Hell, thor and ironman could fly and they'd still walk just to look badass

  • When something goes according to my plan: MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

When something goes awfully wrong: Nope.

  • .... the Star Wars thing... was totally justified... I know he knows why Ani became Darth Vader....

  • holy crap its angry joe :O

  • My favorite cliche/tropes rarely happens live action but is EVERYWHERE in Anime, ESPECIALLY during a sword fight.

It's when two characters run at each other and they both happen to cut through each other, but whenever one of them (usually the Hero) sheathes their weapon (with the clicking sound mind you), the bad guy always seem to drop dead without knowing he was already dead.

and just to throw it in here: 'Omae wa mo shindeiru'

  • Nostalgia Critic! how DARE you leave out Kira's laugh from that number?!?!

  • (4:04)Uh...at that particular moment, things WEREN'T going right for the bad guy.In fact, the laugh momentarily fooled us in to thinking they were!

  • (3:37)Wow---he really WAS a whiny bitch about Padamommy,or PandaBear,or whatever the hell her name was!

  • What's that at 6:42?

  • WHAT!? I loved the Darth Vader NOOO!!! It conveyed the pain he felt, the guilt and helped to show how all he went through, all the horrible things he did, how he basically sold his soul for nothing. It was great and helped explain how he finally went from whiny bitch to total badass

  • 5:59

    Is that Angry Joe?!

  • @Uriel6178 yea

  • @Uriel6178 yeah it is XD

  • How about walking in a straight line in slow-motion wearing sun-glasses?

  • When it comes to people walking in a line, how could he not have mentioned Reservoir Dogs? I mean seriously, the opening credits of that movie had the greatest walking in a line scene EVER.

  • The NOOOOOOOOOOO actually annoys me when it's in movies. I'd even go to say that it's the one that annoys me the most.

  • Anyone know the name of the movie at 8:02?

  • #4 is so awesome, it inspired a Youtube compilation.

  • I think the reason why Wyatt Earp keeps saying "No!" is because he won't let the Cowboys win. He won't let let his brothers down.

  • Actually, I've seen one exception to the explosion a few feet away thing. In The Hunger Games, Katniss sets off a series of mines and is blown backward out of a tree, her left ear starts bleeding all over the place, and she's deaf in it for almost the rest of the book.

  • @turkishvan2 k so how much do you want to bet that they're not going to do that in the movie. If they did I would be impressed but I just don't have that much faith in Hollywood anymore.

  • @turkishvan2 also in the sherlock homes movie you always hear sherlocks ears ringing

  • @turkishvan2 I remember that, hopefully they don't rape that in the movie!

  • @turkishvan2 but that was something else.

    1. its the hunger games. awesomeness, and therefore does whatever it wants.

    2. Its a book, and is therefore not under the limitations of film explosions :)

  • @turkishvan2 I remember that part. I honestly didn't care for the book (I won't say why cause it's a spoiler) but her being tossed like a rag-doll and going deaf was a breath of fresh air for me.

  • cool guys don't look at explosions.

  • @HDEaly when Michael Bay just CAN'T STOP filming (and fapping to) them.

  • @HDEaly They blow things up then they waaaalk awayyyyyuh.

  • 08:02 what movie is that? seems awesome

  • Evil laugh Evil laugh Evil laugh (muppet movie reference)

  • Ok in my opinion when Darth Vader yells "Noooooo!" I think its very emotional and gripping cause it shows thats when Darth Vader has officially taken over

  • Ok which movie is that where the guy says no underwater in that suit?

  • 7:59

    Ba-dum-tss

    :)

  • Darth vader is Darth vader because he was in pain that him saying no is not over the top but what everyone who has everything taken from them. Anikan is in pain and it shows why he continues down the dark side making him that more relatable and even badass because he holds in that pain. Though It would have been much more dramatic if Anikan had been Badass all the way through then let out his pain in one simple word.

  • What's 5:57 from?

  • @johnboy123922 Pretty sure that's from the Kickassia series.

  • NOOO planet of the apes.

  • I'm surprised there was no Wilhelm scream.

  • Slow motion is not cool when you abuse of it. Yes, i'm watching you, Zack Snyder.

  • Shuda had the no from I am legend. The way will smith says it is cool

  • Con Air. <3

  • I never really got why people had the prequels the series is amazing

  • @thechaserv97 I'm pretty sure that the majority of the prequel haters are Harry Plinkett Review bandwagon jumpers. He does make some fantastic points, and while I wouldn't consider the prequels "great", they're good for transporting you to that SW universe and giving you that sense of wonder. Plus, it's fun to play "What I would change about the prequels". :)

  • I don't care if Dragon Ball Z episodes aren't considered movies, Trunks should have had a place in the no department. I mean, he has best fucking NOOOOOOOO of all time. :b

  • The DUMBEST Cliche ever is "Dying breath" Imagine: The main character finding a pillaged village only to find a SINGLE survivor, which ALWAYS tells them what to do/Where to go and they ALWAYS die right before their eyes.

  • I admit, those are really AWESOME cliches.

  • YYEEEEEESSS!!! Huh? Oh, right. Ahem. NNNOOOOOOOO!!!

  • No Reservoir Dogs Walk D:<?

  • While Tombstone was the most iconic of the "straight line" cliche, I'd have to say that the best straight line was in West Side Story when the Jets and the Sharks face up and the Jets line up on the wall. I don't know why, maybe it's because it's everything the cliche symbolizes: they're together, they're not backing down, and they mean business.

  • one of my favourite cliches is the supposedly death villain comes back from death in the last minutes of the film to die definitely

  • If they set that android fre it will be the end of all of us! NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • What movie or show is at 6:40?

  • notice all the zack snider movies

  • Cool guys don't look at explosions.

  • animated joker is best joker

  • what movie is that at the beginning

  • badass guys don't look at explosions

  • Plus lets never forget Baron Samedi's (live and let die) amazing laugh

  • Good choice adding tombstone to the list twice

  • Oh, he forgot a few!

    NOOOOOOO!!! B******!!!! ~Marty McFly

No, no. This can't be happening! No, oh please God no!! ~Marty McFly

  • noooooooooooooooo!

  • Thumbs up if you reached the maximum snow level while watching this video

  • The Dave Chappelle slow motion is my favorite slow motion. P.S. The Joker has the BEST EVIL LAUGH!!! HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!

  • now here is a funny thing, wolverine origins has the best cliches, and still sucked, wedding crashers has the worst cliches, and it's still better than wolverine!!

  • Koyaanisqatsi (1983) invented the slo-mo shot.

  • I never quite understood why people hate Darth Vader's NO so much. I thought it was pretty clear what made Vader Vader was not the suit or Palpatine's declaration, but instead finding out he failed to protect Padme. That's the true turning point and therefore he's still Anakin under a suit before that NOOOO is over. It's in character

True there could've been a better word choice,or he could've not done that stupid skyward scream

Besies Luke was far whinier than Anakin anyway at first

  • 3:00 John Price's grandad!

  • dude, sexy cry is so amazing that it turned into a meme, the foreveralone.jpg

  • 3:33 The Critic pissing me off again.

  • COO GUYS DON'T LOOK AT EXPLOSIONS

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO is my new ringtone

  • wats the movie at 8:02

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...........

  • During the cold war some american fridges were laced with lead, to somewhat withstand nuclear explosions.

  • 0:38 THANK YOU FOR TELLING ABOUT THAT MOVIE! THAT SCENE HAS IN A LOOOOONG TIME BEEN IN MY MEMORY BUT I NEVER LEARNED WHAT MOVIE IT WAS IN! THAAAAAAAAAAAAANK YOU!

  • #1 is Slow-Motion

    Zack Snyder likes this

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • The best no!! is in the rise of the planet of the apes

  • @GTAROCKS123451 So frightening yet awesome!

  • thumbs up for "The Right Stuff" clip at 6:42

  • Actually, I think that NOOOOO! is one of the stupidest of cliches. It's like the sexy cry thing; when something happens in which people are emotionally moved or compromise, they can't freaking speak.

Also, is it me, or should Dramatic Choir be higher on the list? It is in order of coolest after all.

  • My favorite cliche is the badass female character. This has been around for some time and it's been used a good bit. Whether the character is the major or minor character, she is ALWAYS awesome. Examples are Beans from Rango, Catwoman, Wonder Woman, and Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender, but MY favorite is Motoko Kusanagi from the Ghost in the Shell 1995 film. She was about to die and she didn't sceam or nothing. She had a blank face and was going to accept it. Who is more badass than that?

  • my favorite is the black guys meaningless sacrifice not because I'm racist or anything but because its always the black dude to give up his life.

  • Cool guys don't look at explotions, they just turn their back and walk away, cause who has time to look at explotions::D

  • The only way 0:56 would have been improved is if Indie laid there and just totally nonchalantly went "Ow...." a la Bender.

  • Cool guys don't look at explosions.

  • @ServantOfPuppets In master of disguise, devlin always farts

  • I love Nostalgia Critc, but seriously, I don't think the Star Wars prequels are as bad as people say they are. Are they as good as the Original Trilogy? No. But are they awful? No. The prequels are just decent. They are the prologue to the main story, and of course the prologue can't be as exciting as the main story, but it doesn't need to be. I just love Star Wars. It's my favorite movie series ever! Sure, Lord Of The Rings is probably better, but I like Star Wars a little more.

  • @ScrubmanLowell Look up Red Letter Media Star Wars Review.

He pretty much goes into an in depth review, that's like an hour fucking long, and explains why the movie contradicts itself, why it was boring, why he thought George Lucas had no fucking clue what he was doing, why he doesn't blame the movie for being bad etc etc. And its pretty damn funny, IF you like dry and dark humor. Plus the guy reviewing it IS a big fan of the original trilogy so he knows what he's talking about. Check it out.

  • @ScrubmanLowell Agreed, they're not classic but they're watchable and it's all worthwhile to see democracy die to the tune of thunderous applause.

  • @ScrubmanLowell Thank you god for saying what ive been saying for the last 13 years

  • 6:42? Which movie was that?

  • 6:40 ? which movie ?

  • I'm sorry. I love NC and all, but it just really pisses me off when everybody makes such a big deal about that bit in Episode 3. The only woman Anakin ever loved in his entire life and the only person he thought understood him died. Actually, HE was the one who killed her! That's some serious heart-wrenching stuff.

  • @TheWabbajackX Sure i understand your point, but it could have been done much better.

Him screaming NOOOO is just so over the top.

  • @Zuwze Yeah, I will agree it was over the top. But hearing James Earl Jones shout "Nooo!" did sound pretty cool, or at least to me.

  • @TheWabbajackX Not to mention he turned evil just to save her life.

  • @TheWabbajackX Yeah but i doubt your reaction to that would be "NOOOOEESSSSSSS" it would be *falls to the floor in silence and is scarred for life".

  • @ItIsTheInvisibleMan to be fair, that was a throwback to old horror movies. george lucas is a HUGE fan of them, and that was a direct homage to frankenstein. but it does look a bit out of character....then again its star wars, its not high level cinema. :/

  • @TheWabbajackX agreed, entirely.

  • @TheWabbajackX like the username

  • @TheWabbajackX idk i didnt like it because i just thought it was done badly. he walks out like a robot and gives such a non-dramatic performance. Lukes NO was great and full of emotion.

  • @TheWabbajackX Yes, it was, but, it was such a BAD pairing! Plus, he wasn't a good Anakin.

  • @TheWabbajackX He just sounds so stupid.

  • Watch Resident Evil 4 and see if you don't get sick of all the slow-motion scenes.

  • @4:32 his laugh reminds me of Dr. Evil

  • If someone gets this joke it will be the end of all of us! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • What's the movie at 6:57?

  • @About9000ninjas that movie was "Crouching tiger Hidden dragon".

  • At number 4 what was the movie of that first NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    *house explodes*

  • I he mentions one more Cliche' it will be the end of all of us!!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

  • Why does Gary Oldman's laugh in Dracula sound like Shaggy's? Doesn't it kinda?

  • what is the movie at 6:41?

  • How about the cocking revolver sound whenever ANY kind of gun is pointed? Why do Glocks sounds like freakin' Colt Peacemaker.

  • Let's see that SHIT again.. ...in slow motion.

  • Thumbs if you shouted noooooo with him

  • Some people even die laughing...like Predator xD

  • me: MWUHUHUHUHUHUH!! AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!! MWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA--

friend: WTF are you laughing at?

me: I got C at the math exam.

    friend: I got F. NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • @zonQe Me: *laughing like a complete lunatic*

Brother: What are you laughing at

Me: My little Pony: Friendship is Magic

    Brother: BROHOOF!!!

  • @FanPortal2 DOUBLE BROHOOF!

  • Was the no guy holding his gun sideways. I think he did. 2 cliches for the price of 1.

  • cool guys dont look at explosion

  • That the Birth of Nuking the Fridge

  • What movie are the clips at 6:57, 7:03 and 8:02 from??

The clips of the girls in the red flowy silk??

    Can anyone tell me??

  • HAHAHAHA, HAHAHA, HAHAHA, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA,HAHAHAHAHAHA, HAHAHA,HA,HA,HA...who wants pizza?

  • @JNJ18 its The fifth element with Bruce Willis

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • lol i'm surprised he didn't use a Power Rangers clip at 5:41 . They're always walking and standing in a straight line.

  • 3:30, dude. shut up about his saying no in episode 3. It wasnt that his girlfriend died and he was upset. It was that his Wife died and he has lost his body and everything has gone completly wrong. Which caused him to be so hardcore.

  • @Dullfang2

I took the no scene for what it was and not only did I take it seriously, but I understood the reasoning. People either call it funny or whiny, but I bet they'd do the same as Vader if their wifes died. Plus, the prequel hate is so annoying to the point that I consider those films underrated. The entire internet can say otherwise, but I liked them for what they were and no one is going to force me to change my opinion just because hating on Episode I-III is the cool and in thing.

  • What movie is at 0:21? Anyone know? It's used a couple times here. Thanks! =)

  • Cool guys don't look at explosions

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO()OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO000000000000000OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO()()()()OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Why wasn't dramatic rain in here?

  • THe coolest cliche in my opinion is the dramatic walking in the heavy rain sequence like in the end of The Lion King

  • I've done the "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" I inhaled a lot of petrol and started hallucinating. I thought I had died and was stuck in a hellish world for all eternity.

    "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

  • I thought the darth vader 'no' was so funny, I can't take it seriously.

  • @LDman95 And they just threw it in "Return of the Jedi." O_O Damn you, George Lucas!!

  • NOOOOOO!!!

  • The coolest example of someone not reacting to an explosion has to be Gary Oldman in Fifth Element. Because not only is he standing still, but everybody else around him is moving. On top of that, he's smoking while that's happening. Everything about him is just so badass

  • best part is yes then nooooooooooooooo
