  • bar uptown uses high powered reciever + rhapsody for the jukebox

  • windows media player the internet radio stations are cool, but some stations stream slower.

  • Last.fm

  • here's my way to listen to my music go to youtube slash music tada now you have all the music from david archuletta taylor swift the beiber guy david choi and other artist

    it's free and legal :D.

  • NAPSTER - BAD! ROFL :D

  • Smarter way: download ALL your songs off of youtube.

    mediaconverter . com

    vidtomp3 . com

and a program called Youtube to mp3 converter. i use it.

  • music sticks it to the musicians anyway

    so why support them?

and music is to be shared universally, so we can all grow an change to be our best... and enjoy ourselves

  • how to listen to music without breaking the law SIMPLER= youtube

  • The companies who make these CD's are ruining the environment with the millions of tons of carbon emissions that get spewed into the atmosphere every time they make a CD. I buy CD's every now and again, don't get me wrong. I support certain artists, and I'm not into illegal doing. Every so often though, there are songs that I want that I can only find on torrent sites. =/

I use iTunes or import music from CD's because that saves money and energy. I think that's the best way.

  • hype machine

  • radio

  • support the artist? fuck 'em! those bastards are already filthy rich. fucking record companies have enough money to last those greedy bastards a hundred lifetimes

  • @SuperboyConnerKent That depends what you listen to, stop listening to todays mainstream crap, i would never put 5 cents for even 10 cd's (or maybe i would, so i could sell to some dumb fuck who would buy them for 10€ each)

(most) Good music is underground = poor bastards with not much cash to put in their instruments/other shit. Have you ever been to a music store? Instruments go for 700+ eaisily. Support the bands/artists, buy the damn CD's.

  • @SuperboyConnerKent yeah I have no sympathy for those people like Metallica who claim they are being hurt. Most these rock stars can blow more cash on cocaine/heroin/etc in one day than most regular people make in a month...Charlie Sheen (although not a musician) had a briefcase of cocaine delivered to his home. Are people naive enough to think musicians don't do the same, maybe even worse? Hmmmm.

  • Pandora.com is the best way

  • Do not care about most bands. They get fucked in the ass anyway by the recording industry. Not my problem. Do not care. ACDC is the shit. They made their millions.

  • SPOTIFY FTW!

  • I EATS IT!

  • Listen to MEGADETH

  • spotify, 100%legal heh

there is quite a lot there and it's free so give it a try

  • facts listening to a music cd you bought at home can get you sued for copyright infringement if you play music while on the phone and the other person can hear it on there phone or make a home video of your children while your music is playing or having friends or family over = infringement playing music in your car or having your headphones too loud = infringement playing cd's on your pc can get you sued if the program isn't officially supported my the riaa making a backup cd = infringement

  • I never illegally dowload, it's unfaqir to the mucisians/band

  • beemp3.com

    free music

    62% Legal =p

  • @Canorsherd How is it legal?

  • VLC media player is FTW

  • i try to buy all my music on itunes but sometimes they dont have the songs i want :-( for example they dont have much k-pop, then i just listen to the songs on youtube..

  • Well, as regards to the "I don't have the money" remark, I just went to the Sony site and looked for Sony Vegas. I found it. Around 650 euro. Now, I don't know about most people nowadays, but I certainly don't have 650 euro to spend on software that's worth about 100-200 at a push. Torrents might be illegal, and I personally don't use them [not just saying that, I actually don't. I'm a trial whore], but fuck sake, what are these companies thinking when they create the price list for products. =D

  • GROOVESHARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Custom Google Searches & FileTube

  • Doesn't anyone realize that if they like a artist, there hurting an artist by not paying for the media, by illegally downloading it off the net.

  • whats the best website to stream/download high quality music?

  • @sidthekid2009 iTunes

  • @mastersirus1985 is iTunes CD quality or mp3 quality

  • @mastersirus1985 I heard physical CD's r the best-not copys

  • @sidthekid2009 playlist.com

  • So answer me this douche. Whats the difference between downloading a cd through Limewire or a friend handing me a cd and saying keep it man. Theres no difference

  • @picklemx386 As long as your friend gives you the actual CD, and does not copy it b4 they give it to you-it cool and legal, and unless the album is free (most likely it is not) on limewire it would not be legal to download media if you did not pay for it.

  • Thats kinda dum... Youtube is illegal? Its Free. Its legal. Songs from all over the world. Allmost Every Iphone/ipod have a youtube apps so u can carry it around and finally YOUTUBE STREAMS FAST!

  • Listening to music through YouTube.

  • Most musicians work hard. There's a lot of training involved to get good at what you do.Its a tough life touring and expensive to take the music out on the road so a lot rely on income from their recordings to live and create more music..Its not a joke. They do it because they love music. If people took food from supermarkets for free the shelves would be empty in a week. Why steal from musicians-they have rights just like everyone else.Nobody would allow stuff to be stolen from their homes.

  • there are some internet radio players, that you have to pay for, that actually get the music they broadcast ilgeally. these aren't that popular. these are the ones that no one joins, so they resort to theft

  • i download full discographies of all my music from a site i will not name b/c i dont want them to be advertised. its quick & easy and i just transfer it all my movies and music to my 250gig ps3 and keep a back up of everything on my time machine. call it what u want but ill never be paying for music or movies as long as i can get great quality of both from the net. i think they are all over priced anyway. its not stealing if im DL'ing it from someone who has it.

  • how many of us ever made a mix tape from music we got from our friends back in the day? its not like i hacked into the bands home computer and stole there shit. no one ever worried about downloading free music until metallica started crying about it back in the free napster days.why would anyone pay $300 for all of metallicas albums when they can just DL it in less time it would take to drive to bestbuy and look for them all.

  • the day the world stops ppl from getting free music is the day they pull the plug in the internet. that will never happen to everyone please! stop worring about what the rest of us do, u dont do it thats fine with me, but dont expect me to believe im stealing anything.

  • I've be pondering this for awhile. Pandora and Shoutcast have been sufficing for awhile, but I keep coming back to CDs to listen to my fave ablums. I want to get to the point where I don't need any physical objects and can do everything web/browser-based!

  • fwire

  • limewire

  • limewire is illigal and it gives you viruses

  • @101Nico101 Limewire isn't illegal, i think it just depends on what things u download. But there are ALOT of illegal things on limewire =)

  • limewire itslf is illigal...

  • Spotify!!!!

  • just download for free off pirate bay or mininova, fools =P ha

  • is this legal or illegal?

  • I tend to notice that TPB is slowly dieing. The search always dies and stuff. Oh well...

  • how do i consume music? i just eat the music with some bread and peanut butter

  • @ShadowZ77 dude, are you nuts? Toast kicks breads ass, regardless of the fact toast is just a crunchier version of bread

  • @ShadowZ77 with some orange juice too

  • Comment removed

  • i use spotify, but the latest update for it won't let me do it now?

    Can you help me????

  • Spotify owns!

  • Limewire Sucks

  • how to listen to music without breaking the law?

you can allways listen to painkiller instead

  • LIMEWIRE!! WOOT

  • RADIO TRACKER =) LEGAL =)

  • Ok, so he keeps a cartoon likeness of himself on the front of his laptop?... lol.

  • Side note: 1TB harddrives are pretty cheap.

  • Listen to: Ko-Dan - Bamboo One (2008).

  • I have several gigs of music on my hard drive. Dunno where my dad got it, but its quality is fine. When I find a song I like, but I have no chance of actually buying it, I simply use a certain website. Nothing wrong with two or three songs downloaded, eh?

  • for free music downloads use imeem

absolutely no viruses or spy ware fast download times and album downloading times if fucking great

  • Amazon MP3 downloader

  • Used CD's give no money to the artist at all... I'd rather get them off of iTunes.

  • I buy albums.

  • i use listen(dot)grooveshark(dot)com

  • I use either a torrent, or I rip it from youtube, or I just record the sound as it streams through my speakers when I listen to a free sample.

  • I listen to music on youtube.

  • I download the background audio

  • o and u talk like a nerd

  • Sorry bud but u look like a nerd.

  • I use Napster to Go as my music subscription service for renting music. But whenever I want to buy a track permanently, I either buy the album from a music store, or buy the tracks on iTunes.

  • Napster to Go FTW!!

  • A free ( and legal method ) is spiral frog , but you cant put it on ipods :(

  • (.Y.) heee hee

  • i use limewire only when the Ablum i am looking for is no longer out then i will download it from limewire

  • Well if you want to listen to music without breaking the Law, just buy it...

  • yo i payed $30 for a lifetime thing with kazaa gold so far no virus's or spyware so its all goood :P

  • look at the title would ya:

How to Listen to Music Without Breaking the Law

Kazaa pretty much breaks the law in terms of downloading

  • internet radio is the best way to listen to music but they dont play every type of music genre

  • pandora(dot)com pretty much doese

  • The program Limewire is illegal, downloading the sings off it is illegal.

When you download the program, say you might use it to pirate software, and see if the site lets you download with that answer. :P

  • Then program Limewire is NOT illegal. Limewire is a p2p and it downloads programs faster.

It is illegal, though, to download music or any copy righted software, games, ect.

Limewire was designed to download things you want faster. For example: Free mmorpg's, any other software.

Limewire is not illegal. It is you who is making it illegal for your self.

  • it wasnt illegal but it will become illegal ..

  • Well, probably, or maybe not.

  • @Sclunger Limewire is dodging the law with loopholes, but it's the same ole' concept.

The owner of Limewire is getting revenue off people sharing music using his or her service, and people are using his or her service as a primary source for music. This is what leads to lawsuits, because earning revenue from other people's shit is wrong.

  • @Sclunger thats bullshit we all know what limewire is for i dont care what intentions it was for but 99 percent of the content on it is either copyrighted or a virus

  • you made your point on limewire and free products!

  • I prefere staying far far away from LimeWire if you want to get viruses on your computer then you use LimeWire... -.- I just buy the CD's I prefere to have CD's so even if my hard disk gets broken for some reason I still have the music :)

  • don't get why downloading music is illegal. the more you download stuff the more you pay for internet subscription. that extra money belongs to the artist who's services you use by downloading his/her songs. problem solved

  • cris listen to metallica

  • Limewires the best. its the non computer Lit who get virus's. like if a music track is 12kb. den thats a virus

  • The Library. Go check out 10 cds, rip them, then take them back and get some more. Spyware not included.

  • that's still illegal lol u dun have the permisson to rip the music

  • iTunes is the best!

  • The only bad thing about subscription music is that, if you are a kid like me who can't have a job yet, you can't pay 20 dollars a month for music that you can't even put on your iPod. I like iTunes better, because as soon as you buy it, you own the music forever, and you don't have to pay for it every month. Yes, it does take up hard drive space, but you can easily place iTunes music onto an external hard drive or flash drive that can be dedicated only to your iTunes library. Nice vid Chris!

  • i hate you

  • limewire

    perfectly legal

    :p

  • limewire is legal

    didnt know that

  • i just buy the cd...not so hard guys.

  • at around 2:20-2:30, the ipod touch has itunes already on it

  • I use ares galaxy or torrents

    =D

    better than buying music

  • \0/ | |------YEAH! |

     |

    / \

  • torrents xD

  • if not legal,limewire ftw!lol

  • #6. Music Podcasts. There's a lot of good new music there.

  • Actually this topic is somewhat country dependent. I'm living here in the far east now, and some countries here have different intellectual property laws. Although, most of you guys do live in the North America or Europe, so yeah it's a good topic.

  • I download music because I often can't find it in my music store

  • I... happen to disagree. ...when buying an album, its rare that the artists gets the chunk of money from the sales that they actually deserve. the artists actually make more money off concerts than any other method. do a youtube search for "Richard Stallman Copyright and Community", and watch the end 1/3 of part 7 and all of part 8. And if you don't believe it, prove it wrong.

  • i sometimes use torrents to "sample" music, most of the music that i download on bittorrent i end up buying when i get the chance. btw, i cannot stand music subscriptions, i like listening to a lot of music, but i like to own my own music.

  • Ahhh, you made Folk seem like easy listening.

    Not cool.

  • Napster songs can be moved into Windows Media Player

  • I use iTunes! I HATE IT when people use limewire. Its no different than going into a store and STEALING the cd!

  • Limewire is fail. Too many people leech and not enough act as hosts, plus every search has in it's top result "nude busty blonde on tape" as an .exe and a file size of like 100 kB. People who use Limewire must be shopping for virus code. Torrent, direct P2P (over a direct connect IM session), YouTube,iTunes, iTunes radio, and good ol' fashioned CD ripping are the best choices. Not P2P networks, like Limewire, which have large populations of selfish, dumb people and malicious

    programmers.

  • limewire ftw =\

  • Chris... -.- i dont like the way you use paper...you are killing my trees--our trees--the world's trees. I hope you are recycling all that paper. I dont like how you have to print everything!...dont, just read it off the computer

  • limewire...

  • Pirillo it depends on how you see stuff. Why should you pay to see a van gogh painting? why sould you pay for art at all? The whole resson of art is to share and show people what you can make, some along the way it turned into a profit making business. I go to the concerts of all the artists i like but i do not buy all there albums. First they dont make money off them, second some albums are impossible to find in the store.

  • iTunes all the way! Fast, easy, and best of all... FREE!!

  • itunes isn't free

  • woops, I meant LEGAL. Lol, I'm not really that stupid :)

  • LEGAL people. I meant LEGAL.

  • lol I still buy CD's, then rip them to my PC.

  • thas tha way to do it cuz if ya really like tha artist i would want to steal from them plus if your hdd gets erased you have a back up

  • Pandora no longer operates internationally. License laws can eat ass lawn.

  • limewire is sweeeet

  • Limewire Sucks Balls! now

  • Chris didn't listen to Daft Punk?!?!

I've listened to Daft Punk for yeaaarrrsssss now, glad you like them Chris!

  • Get it with Cabos on the mac, and listen with iTunes

  • DRM free mp3s are definitly my first choice.. unfortunatly you cant buy it in Denmark

  • YouTube is the solution for free legal music listening.

  • Why not get the iTunes free single. It's updated weekly (i think) and is FREE to anyone with an iTunes account. Although some of it may not be to some people's taste.

  • LIMEWIRE!!!!!

  • Limewire sucks.

  • get frostwire, thats even worse...

  • = crap FROSTWIRE = crapper!

  • Love how everyone uses P2P programs such as Bearshare, Limewire, etc... just use fucking torrents. Seriously, you can get full discographys, full albums, FLAC quality music, rare tracks. And theres not nearly as much of a risk of getting a virus or spyware then with the crap people put out on P2P networks.

  • See the bands live, buy a t-shirt. Send a 10 dollar bill in an envelope to the band, then steal their CD. Screw the labels.

  • your right about that you can do that or just steal the cd's from the net but support the bands and artists anyway they need it wel it dont look like it

  • warez-bb rapidshare on my ipod

  • The future: Everyone subscribes to the music instead of buying. When that happens, it's just like a "music tax" supporting artists via the major labels, as well as paying for the CEOs' private jets. Then again, it's voluntary. I'll just stick to radio. It's free and it constantly streams music, and I can pick between many different stations, and I get the news and talkshows and...

  • Music subscriptions has never been very appealing to me. I like to own a copy of whatever music I listen to. That & what you said in the letter about the music quality not being quite as good. I'm picky over audio quality and bitrates.

  • If music is your life, then you don't want to rent the songs...you want to own a copy to use without internet. Rhapsody is more like radio to me. If I want radio then let's see want's on FM.

  • i use bearshare!

  • i am watching chris talk about how you shouldn't use limwire... while at the moment i'm downloading 3 songs FROM limwire ---- yikes i hope that doesn't make me a bad person! lol

  • launch from yahoo

  • Bit Torrent to try out music and if I really like it I'll buy the cd and rip it.

  • I wait for people to upload tracks to YouTube and then download them from here.

  • iTunes and record labels take the majority of profit from the artist. I bittorrent an album and donate $10-15 directly to the small artists I listen to (all of them have donate/paypal services)

  • That's a great idea for more artist to post donate links.

  • itunes if i really love the album but if i only want a few songs limewire

  • I buy from itunes and sometimes cd's

  • bit torrent and final fantasy shrine
