  • Small ass school

  • @jhtdjthjtjht its in north dakota, did you really expect it to be huge?

  • Was the music playing inside the school or something?

  • why did the school shutdown and become abandoned?

  • @thevacuumman5 read description

  • that school is as big as our first wing :P

  • how did you get in?

  • might i ask why its abandoned? it still looks like a new building and it looks like it has been refurbished

  • @metakight43 wow my middle school was built in the 1890's..hopefully it'll be abandoned soon cuz i hated my school !

  • Wow; the attic looks like the one used on The Never Ending Story

  • @metakight43 You're probably fortunate enough to have students. This school was running out.

  • Too bad that this old high school is no longer in use as it looks like in great condition. Since it in good condition, maybe the school district could find other uses for it. It is such a shame as I would buy it for my self to be leased out for doctor's offices, lawyers and other types of small buinesses.

  • @patsaxon Sadly, there isn't enough business in the area to find a use for the school. Even with all the oil activity in the area, there just isn't enough. Too bad: it's a great building.

  • why was it abandoned it looks nice

  • @Reeceyboy101101 There was a lack of students and not many people moving to the area (at least at that time). Had they been able to stay open a few more years, they might have really benefitted from all the oil activity in the area now.

  • lol chevy at 1:14

  • hmm, no damaged walls or floors, objects and trophys still in good shape, the school hasen't been abandoned long

  • @TeletoonRetro4Life No. At the time I made the video, it had only been abandoned for 1 year.

  • i wanna just go there and fill up baskets of stuff like trophies the things in the science rooms and that and if there was any electricals i would have them (im not poor or homeless)

  • @rhyskallen I was there because I was hired to inventory the chemicals in the lab. I was paid by being allowed to take any of the science equipment I wanted. I also have a few tables from that school in my classroom.

  • I think this proves why trophies are worthless. They sit in trophy cases for decades, taking up space without much attention being paid to them, and then are abandoned when the school closes. What a waste of money and resources.

  • @schuminweb I've never been a fan of trophies either. The accomplishment means more to me than some hunk of plastic or metal.

  • nice vid. but i can not understand why all these materials are going to waste!! why not donate them to another school in need?!!

  • @SuperKelley69 A lot of the material is now in another school. Some of it is unusable and it still sits in the building.

  • did he show toilets?

  • WainsCOATing? Really? WainsCOTing, geez... And a "photocopier"? Try mimeograph! No wonder the school closed if this is the caliber of students it graduated.

  • @lilliena And the word "humor" comes to mind.

  • Where is this? i would like to take this abandoned equipment!.

  • @mamacita4two Too late!

  • I like it when he says "I'm going to be quiet for a while so you can hear what an old school sounds like." The next thing you hear is the happy background music. ;-)

  • Several million dollars in renovation?? It looks like some 1990s SHIT!

  • @StealthSim1 Well, you do realize that if the rennovation was done 10-15 years ago... that would have been during the 90s, right?

  • Possibly the old high school building could be used as part of the elementary school.

  • so did you get the copper or what? lmfao

  • @weedeaterbike I got lab equipment for my classroom. Does that count?

  • was that white fluffy crap in the attic asbestos?

  • @Mastermotor1 No it was insulation.

  • @WaskiSquirrel Did this school close right after the end of the 2005-2006 school year?

  • Interesting. Why did they leave all of the equipment and supplies behind? Couldn't they donate all that to another school? Nice video :)

  • Nice looking school. Reminds me a little of Bastian's school in Neverending Story. The attic too a little. Oh, look at those Amityville Horror orange slice windows. That's what I call them. :)

  • that pink macitosh is gunna be myne :)

  • FINALLY a normal person a youtube

  • the music was from welcome back kotter

  • B.S All that and more!

  • small building cant have a lot of kids there like most schools now

  • it a shame to se buildings in this good of shape being ruined.

  • Not that bad looking, but I do see why it's no longer in use, two small of classrooms!

  • That place does not look abandoned, I mean computers on the library? and how do you get in there?

  • It's not going to stay in good shape for long, with people breaking into it.

  • I'd take so much shit

  • Theres a big change in my school district, they've just built a new high school that can fit thousands of students comfortably with all new technology, and they're not doing anything with the old one (which was only about the size of a middleschool anyways). If it's going to be abandon I'm looking forward to possibly exploring it in the future.

  • Nice Video!

  • Go back there in a couple of years, and you won't even recognize the place.

  • Makes you feel better about paying taxes! Ughhhhhhhhh

  • there must not be any tweekers or junkies in sd,in my city that place would have been striped of cooper wire and anything of value over night.damn meth heads.cool video and i forgot there is no graffitti no sur 13 shit or taggers around here it would be covered.

  • there must not be any tweekers or junkies in sd,in my city that place would have been striped of cooper wire and anything of value over night.damn meth heads.cool video

  • Why was it abandoned? All of the videos I see on abandoned buildings never say why they were abandoned, it is so frustrating!

  • very small, thats like my elementary school

  • I would imagine, that people in that part of the country will have respect for it, and not vandalize it, and spoil it... I lived in Malta, MT for a while, and saw a real nice High School burn by accident. They had the best intentions for it. They had just renovated the wood floors, and sealed them with Varathane. Unfortunately, the place caught fire, from the fumes, and burned it down. That city had to bus the students away, from what was a nice neighborhood, walk to school!

  • This school is in better shape than my active highschool.

  • i wod get evry tv and stereo system wat i can find

  • I don't see why they don't just turn a nice building like that into a community center or library or something. It's gotta have some use otherwise the vandalism will be through the roof!

  • seem like a small school.

  • Your lying this is not abandoned they would not leave all that stuff there.

  • Interesting...I always want to check these places out!

  • ud thank thay use it for a storage place or knock it down to use the rubbish for new bildings but no.there going to let it rot. what a waste

  • I'm surprised know one has stolen the backetball backboards and hoops...they are in great condition and they do cost a lot.

  • So why was it abandoned?

  • It's always sad when these lovely schools close down..it's happened down here too...

  • He says he has asked permission. The power has not yet been disconnected. It's a newly closed school. What part of this doesn't make sense?

  • abandoned....yet the lights are still working??

  • thats what we dont want in the usa is a perfectly good school. its a country of rich republitards. nothing more. there are no other people.

  • lol i hope you looted a shit load of stuff :P

  • @agrundstromer Take a look at the abandoned schools in Detroit, and you will learns what a looted and vandalized school look like. Why the hell would you suggesting to another to loot an abandoned building. Your tax dollars will end up having to clean up the mess left behind by those who take you up on the suggestion. I guess you must be one of those Obama supporters who think Americans don't pay enough taxes as it is. Maybe you should grow up and take some pride in America for a change.

  • @onevike I dont pay Tax Dollars...

  • @agrundstromer Neither does your buddy Obama's friends General Electric. They paid 0 taxes in 2010, but Obama has the CEO of GE in his administration because he loves multi-billionaire Corporate Leaders who donate to Democrats.

Detroit is what Obama wants for all of America.

  • @onevike im not even an American so.... careface....

  • @onevike Hey, I can see where you're coming from, but more often than not abandoned building never get reinhabited, so cleaning them up isn't necessary. Besides, I don't believe this building is technically "abandoned" in the true sense, as there is still tons of valuable goods in there, more like they closed down, are are simply using the building as a huge ass storage facility until they can move out all the valuable goods. There's nothing wrong with looting an abandoned building. When

  • @onevike someone abandons something, that means they forfeit their ownership of that something, whatever it is. Therefore, it's up for grabs. As far as my taxes going up due to looters. where's the logic in that? Seriously? You're removing an un-owned item from an abandoned building, how would that translate into a tax increase. Last time I checked, governments don't give funding OR financially support unused abandoned buildings there buddy. When it comes to demolishing it, yes, in that case

  • @onevike yes, tax dollars would contribute to the cost of demolishing the building. Otherwise, removing miscellaneous unaccounted for items in abandoned structure won't affect the taxpayer. Even if it did, i'm pretty sure the dollar value of any goods removed would be much much more than any potential tax increase anyway. Cheers.

  • 3:00 omg imac g3!

  • this is better than our school, and this one is abandon

  • It really seems like there will be someone around every corner I guess because theres still stuff.

  • It would seem that in the long run it would be cheaper to "lease" it for free to anyone who could use it instead of letting it go to ruin. I saw an old school that was turned into apartments and another that became an antique store. My parent's old school was demolished and turned back into farm land.

I am thankful our local school district uses old school buildings as offices for the district. There are hundreds of uses for old buildings like this.

  • Why was the power still on?

  • Nice school. Whyd they leave it???

  • where is this?

  • WackiSquirrel, thanks for posting....nice job

  • 3:00 holy shit an imac g3 lol i wnt it where is the school

  • 3:00 holy shit an imac g3 lol

  • is that Harold Ramis speaking? well this school looks better than burbank high school....

  • It's sad really, all that wasted money.

Well if I was there I'd be taking a bunch of stuff

  • Holy cow....you have Seth Rogen's voice!

  • I would buy that as a house THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!

  • @freezingco1d1ove there was one time an high school on ebay

  • Take the microscopes man!

  • My school's pronounced like that, but is spelled differently. was that Rhame guy a german guy?

  • yo take those microscope there like worth 550$ each man and high school like 700$ tkae them

  • Wow, it looks to still be in good shape with quite a few useable items like in the Library. Very cool!

  • ohh that brings memories, i use to go there, im using my grand daughters account so do think im a kid writing this for fun, but i used to go here

  • how did you turn the lights on??

  • It does look like a building in good repair. I noticed the attic even seems well insulated.

It is kind of a strange feeling in the these midwestern states: declining enrollment, out migration, aging population, retiring babyboomers, people moving south and west.

I live in central Wisconsin. In my community we have 30% of house units vacant. I've heard its even worse in parts of N.Dak directly south all the way to Oklahoma.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • As young teens back in the mid 80's, we broke into an abandoned school in Love Canal, NY. I found school books that still referred to blacks as "Negros". We rode our bikes in the halls, made forts in classrooms & filled them with furniture from the offices & we fought using disassembled abacus, you'd like whip them so the beads went flying down the stalk (cool weapon). We glued large wood/toy building blocks to the walls/ceilings. It had a pool, but no windows in the room. It was spooky.

  • Just wondering how did you get in. Did someone let you in?

  • @neoprotwo I was actually there working. I was asked to inventory the chemicals in the science room for safe disposal. Naturally, I took advantage of my chance to explore!

  • Wow,what a nice school. I wonder what it looks like now...or what it would look like 10 or 20 years from now...hmm

  • @TheSecrecyOfSolitude Right now it still looks good. However, one of my hobbies is photographing schools like this, and I've seen a potential future for it in other communities. I hope that Rhame can find a way to save and use it.

  • @WaskiSquirrel do you sometimes take stuff from theses places?

  • It does not seem to have a fire alarm system. The attic looks creepy, lol. I don't see anything wrong with it, it is weird that they abandoned it. Are people aloud to walk in an abanded building? Also, how did you get in, were the doors open?

  • @TssCman123 I was there working (inventorying the chemicals in the science room for safe disposal). It's a great building with a few leaks in the roof. Unfortunately, the district was short on students and the teachers were all of retirement age (with limited prospects for replacement). They decided to close for the benefit of the students.

  • @WaskiSquirrel can u get that pink mac and send it over to the netherlands?

  • That place must smell rotten everything must be expired as in medical stuff and all that, its probably vandalized too

  • @ViperStarFilms It's in North Dakota. I've seen even some really ancient buildings and the only destruction in them is environmental, not people. It just smells like an old building.

  • @WaskiSquirrel Oh, cant argue with that.

  • @WaskiSquirrel umm i live in ND and ive honestly never seen this shit if i do find it ima flip out thx for clairifying tht ima try to find it :D if u know wat town\city its in plz tell me :D thx

  • could u take any of the items in there? wow i would take a big ass bag to take alot of that and put it in the trunk, theres still alot of stuff there...no one is there to watch u right>?

  • If there is one thing I will never understand, Why would they just completely abandon it, and leave all that stuff? You think they would take all the equipment and such to use elsewhere...

  • Is it still sitting abandoned? Looks like you made this video 3 years ago so I was just wondering.

  • dude, i'm in art 3 class at my high school. if that was my art work in the class i'd be pissed!!!!!!!!! it takes soooooo long to create something. why the hell will they leave the kids art to decay!?!?!?!

  • You think they would at least take anything of value out of the building..

  • @ 2:27 all your home made bomb supplys. one stop shopping

  • This video should be called "A school in summer"

  • @TwoEyeCyclops Hard as it is to believe, it really is abandoned. I have a lot of the science equipment in my own classroom now. I took this video because it's so hard to believe that a building this nice needs to be abandoned.

  • UMMM??? STEAL SOME OF THAT SHIT MAN!!!!

  • I hope you were able to salvage the wonderful artwork that was left on the ceiling. I'm sad to see that alot of schools now dont have art programs. I would hate to think that all the hard work they did was disposed of.

  • why did they abandoned the school

  • @bluejay148 Lack of students.

  • the lights are still on in an abandon high school?

  • @hellblazer116 Hence the word "recently" in my title.

  • @hellblazer116

theres a bennigans rest. in miami thats been abandoned for over 3 years that still has its lights on. If they didnt leave the power on the place would melt into a pile of mold.

  • Is all that stuff still in the school

  • @tonkatoyboy02 No. I was there to help clean out the building.

  • you sound SO MUCH like kipkay lol

  • @Railbuff23 lulz .

  • @wduane2807 probably .. im qoinq with yess ha .

  • if i was there i would have started stealing shit lol

  • While I can commend you for this vid, I cannot praise you enough for being a TEACHER. I sometimes wish I didn't spend over thirty years in industry, but I'm retired now. If I could go back I would consider being a teacher also. Being able to go to school to learn is what has made me what I am today. A good teacher can teach in any kind of building that is considered a school, no matter what condition that building is in.

  • what a waste there are cities that can use this stuff

  • @alyser100 Most of the equipment (except the really old stuff like the ditto machine) is now in use in other school districts.

  • @WaskiSquirrel i was an aide for a while in my city and i know how hard it can be too get supplies. Im glad to hear that things are being used! thanks for the reply!

  • LOL...the soundtrack from Room 222, I think? Cool.

  • @GrenadeChick99 Good catch! I tried to use theme music from TV shows that took place in schools.

  • Wow! I went to Kindergarten there! The Kindergarten was in the high school and then 1st through 6th grades were in the elementary school, 7-12 in the high school.

You can really tell how well maintained the building was, because the renovation took place in the early '80's. I'm really sad to see it go. It was a wonderful place to grow up!

  • its not abandoned its just the weekend int he summer months

  • somehow the music makes this creepier

  • So is the school still sitting there abandoned to this day?

  • what is it used for now?

  • The camera man sounds just like Scooby from the weight lifting video's.Same guy ??

  • @cody1800212 I think that if they were offered enough money, they would sell it. Personally, I would love to see it used for something.

  • a school that has been kind of empty for a mere few months? not exactly exciting exploration there.

  • @orchote True. I wasn't interested in excitement. I wanted to document an old building.

  • i love wandering into abandoned buildings and looking for random shit to steal!! oh my god the things i'd do to come to this school and just scavenger through everything.

  • @Knhyd I was a legitimate scavenger. There isn't much left to take.

  • @Knhyd I don't steal, but part of my payment for the work I did here was that I was allowed to take a lot of the science equipment for my classroom.

  • i would take all the chemicals with me and build a ... hm... C-bombe:D just kidding^^

  • @fruhotchiliman They're gone now, thanks to my efforts.

  • @fruhotchiliman The chemicals are gone. That was part of my job.

  • no way its abondon why would they leave all that neat stuf there and we need muney to get new stuf hello look at all these stuf and perfectoly good books tv,s and you know stuf wow is the goverment stupid

  • @sgthootnany I was there to assist in properly clean the place out...particularly the chemicals. A lot of the science equipment is now in my classroom (as payment for the work I did).

  • @sgthootnany It's gone now. I was part of a team that removed the "good" equipment for use at other schools.

  • to bad why fix it if it aint broke eh

  • @78olympique There weren't enough kids left. The school had to close.

  • @78olympique Sadly, the school ran out of kids and had to close.

  • DAMN its still got everything omg!

  • @fgfgd2 Not anymore. Most of the equipment is now in my school. Much of the science equipment is in my classroom.

  • @fgfgd2 Not any more. I was part of a team that removed the "good stuff."

  • sad

  • there was alot of asbestos in that attic

  • STEAL EVERYTHING!!!

  • It disgusts me that perfectly fine buildings sit abandoned like this. Why build it just to leave it sit to rot later? It would probably make a nice apartment building, they should renovate. It's about the same size as the old school house in my home town that was abandoned for decades. They recently renovated it into apartments. My mom used to go to the school.

  • arent they suppose to clean it or like remove the furniture? why leave everything there?

  • The word JUNK lol 1's JUNK the others TREASURE

  • Abandoned ?? Hell the school Looks New - What happened Tax Levy Fail ??

  • what a shame

  • That's a really nice school. It's a shame what happened to it.

  • abandoned? its better than my school!

  • Thats sad, the school is amazing! If I could, I would definitely go there!

  • my high school is gonna be abandon in 2011-2012, cuz it's gonna be in a new location plus my school is very old. im very excited to be in the new school once it's done.

  • Any of the students ask for the tile they painted?? What a memory it would make
