That statement is alluding that the democratic party ALL walked in lock step with each other regarding Byrd and Gore who were Southern Democrats. 2 - It is simplistic to simply imply that the reason was ''racism''. Sometimes a legislator won't vote in favor of a bill because they disagree with some part of it or what they think the effects of it will suposedly be. I'm typically not a racists person,I live in Arizona and yesterday I filled out an application with resume in hand
They also had a test with code questions.All the people in the front office where of Hispanic origin .Another applicant came in and didn't speak English.He' seemed to be non productive filling out the paper work.How could this man comprehensively complete the test or anything else.I'm sure when I left ,mine when right in the trash and this guy was hand fed

Cain was still denying there was a problem with our economy in the first week of September 2008. He said the economy was strong and robust, that it was the lies of the Democratic party in order to swing the election. Did he ever admit to being wrong or attempt to explain why he was so mistaken in his beliefs? Never! What is important to note is that the Democrats were originally for states rights whereas the Whigs (then later the Republicans) were for a strong central government (ie tariffs, corporitism, central bank,).

It was Bush got us into 2 costly wars, passed the pharmacy act (entitlement), passed No Child Left Behind (further government intrusion), and it was Bush who proposed the bailouts..........and there were plenty of Republicans who supported them.

The Republicans did not fight against slavery and the Democrats did not fight for it. There was no FIGHTING going on over the issue of slavery between the two parties. Yes , Lincoln freed the slaves but thats not what the Civil War was about. Freeing the slaves was a tactical move by Lincoln in his war with the South.
Political parties are meaningless. Ron Paul is a libertarian who runs as a Republican. Why? It is because we live under a two party tyranny.
