$1.50 for a 1 ounce copper bullion? That is like $24 a pound. Copper is only worth $4.50 per pound from what you quoted. You paid a premium of $19.50 for that copper which you cannot get more than $4.50 for? LOL. You got ripped off buddy.
i think copper is still great, still have intrinsic value unlike piece of paper scribbled a value on. its a useful metal who knows where copper will go in the future? it might get rare enough sinced its being used up fast look at all those pennies produced and cars, tv sets, wires and the huge demand the chinese have on copper i believe copper has potential.
@masterpatric07 I really agree with what you are saying! I am in the long-term with copper, which I think will do better than all the precious metals due to the high demand! Gold really doesn't have nothing on copper! Copper has a lot of potentional!
If our dollar is such trouble then, why are people selling silver and copper for soon to be worthless pieces of paper? Are they still alseep? I mean if anyone knew what was going on they wouldn't be selling these silver and copper coins?
@SpiritSphere12 The sell off came from people taking profit by selling their "paper" silver and copper shares and trading them for paper money. Commodity prices across the board are up again in the last 2 days. I would suspect most physical holders did not sell any. I myself sold none. Not everyone is aware of the real trouble our country is in, yet.
@CommentaryUSA aAhh ic well i am going to continue to buy more silver and copper ounces. In fact i bought some off ebay! (lakota rounds). These copper rounds are worth way more than a federal reserve note and will have real buying power when the dollas crashes. Thanks.
Just bought 20 rounds as a goof, and they are GREAT. Nice coins, definitely worth getting a tube for both their aesthetic qualities and emergency barter. I may get more in the future, but I'd rather hoard pre-1982? pennies.
watching this video was very helpful because i've been collecting silver and a little bit of gold but i asked myself should i start collecting copper bullion and thought why not it wouldn't hurt because silver prices are climbing and gold is just too much but with copper being offered in bullion form and for a very affordable price on sites like amazon why not jump on the opportunity now while you can thanks for posting this vid it was very informative and i enjoyed listening
QUESTION: if i take a bunch of industrial copper pipe to a recycling place I will get about $3 a lb. A 1oz bullion coin goes for about 6. Why the huge difference??? Makes me think the bullion is overvalued even if it is slightly more pure.
Your right. What you are paying for though is the pretty design on the coin. In some ways it might be worth spending a little more, if you have to use it for barter there will be less doubt if it is genuine copper. I wouldn't worry about purity. I'd gladly take some "impure" silver for a tiny fraction of the price ;) But, there is no such thing. lol. Seriously, I have a 5 lb. amplifier coil of pure copper strand that I was going to throw out a year ago! Thank god I didn't .
I just got a wooden antique storage bucket full of old 1 & 2 cent Australian copper coins. I needed a nice storage bucked for bits & pieces in my music studio. They would not separate the 2 & my memory flashed back to this video so I got it. So 1/2 the cost is a business expense for my music studio renovations & I have now a stash of junk copper coins. It may be 10 pounds of the copper coins. So I have a stash for possible trade, I think copper will rise, but not like my silver stack.
UPDATE. This morning, I took one of my copper bullion (.999 fine) rounds to my local coin shop. I gave it to the owner and asked him to put it in the display case (get whatever price he could get, I paid $1.13). He called at 3 p.m., saying he sold it, and got $4. The purchaser was wanting as many as he could get his hands on. Thought this was interesting feedback. The shop owner asked to meet with me to discuss the research I've done. Gonna show him this video.
@OurTimeIsOut Yes about 20% of all pennies in circulation are still 1981 and before and are copper. When this hyperinflation kicks in you will be lucky to find any copper pennies. It will be like trying to find a 1964 and earlier 90% silver coin...impossible. Greshams Law at work. I am always looking at the chamge in my pocket for those copper pennies. I have accumulated about 4000 of them. Last I figured melt value of a roll of pennies was 2.89. 4 zinc quarters only worth .63 cents
@jonah70757 can't stock up now on fuel can you invest in oil, silver stocks, agricultural, things which are equally hit by inflation & then cash out when the time is right? The math should show you the way
WHEN Silver shoots up to 75-500 per oz. everyone will JUMP to copper which will be the NEXT affordable precious metal after silver. I WILL SAY THIS AS LOUD AS I CAN BUY COPPER BULLION NOW.

so the message to take from this video is that if and when the dollar fails copper could be used for small daily transactions where as gold n silver would be to high in value to use practically what about nickel how would its value compare to copper?
also i've herd that some ppl are acquiring pre 1964 quarters due to the high silver content (90%, 10% zinc) is this a good method to acquire small amounts of silver?
@antichrist1909589 Yes exactly. People already know that copper is valuable, just look at all the copper theft that goes on. If and when a crisis happens, people will be collecting, hoarding and trading all the metals in my opinion. Nickel was up over $13.00 a pound just this morning. Nickel definitely has value and can be traded.
90/10 silver coins are a great way to aquire silver. Check out my video about that very subject about "junk silver barter".
@antichrist1909589 90% silver coins are quite popular. I long for the days when you could buy Kennedy Halves all day long for melt. That was 4-5 years ago. Now its anywhere from $2 to $6 over spot. People are paying a whopping 40% premium on Ebay. Junk Silver Bags can be purchased at APMEX. I would stay away from copper and stick with silver and gold. If you are concerned about barter buy 90% Silver.
Thank you for the video. I am the one who asked you to make this, and you did an excellent job. As you stated, all commodities will have an upward pressure, with copper being one of them. Due to the extremely low price of copper, it really wouldn't hurt to pick up some copper bullion. Should the dollar collapse, copper is easily traded, or even sold at the scrap yard for easy cash. Still a silver stacker, but wanted this to be out there as an option. Regards, Bill

Im not saying that you wrong but would it be cheaper getting nickels worth $1.50 rather then 1 oz of copper? Nickel will be worth more and risk free

A small correction, as the end of the close today Mar. 15 copper is down to 4.02. This probably because of whats happening in Japan right now.
