  • someone is very drunk to see this

  • what is a crossover?

  • @nintendogsphilip These are patterns of steps where you have to turn your body quickly in order to hit them... Imagine a fast paced stream of arrows "left, down, right, down, left".. In order to hit them, you would step on the left arrow with your left foot, followed by down arrow with the right foot, followed by the right arrow with the left foot (this is the crossover, because your one foot crosses with the other), and then the down arrow again with the right foot, and finally, the left arrow.

  • One of the few songs that are easier on challenge, simply because at 1:25 you get arrow raped by jumps on expert.

  • I swear, I get so pumped just by watching this.

  • The background of this song is pretty :-)

  • This is a totally different experience on Heavy because of Heavy's jumps...

  • Does anybody know how to unlock this song on ddr, please reply with full information please :) i would appreciate it

  • 1:33

Did anyone else think the announcer was going to drop the F-bomb right there?

  • chart is fun

  • QUE BONITO PUES

  • It amazes me how many versions of Trip Machine there are and yet they STILL sound the same.

  • I think the reasons why TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX is hard is:

    1. Like perfectchaoslemon said, there are lots of crossovers. For those who haven't adapt with crossovers before, this song drains a lot of stamina.

    2. When I saw the stepchart, I realize that jumps was put just after the 16th streams. On 0:56, the jump even took part of the 16th stream itself. Don't forget the final wave of 16th streams near the end of the song too.

  • @TheSirius17 At your point #2, jumps being part of 16th streams is nothing new. I don't hear anybody knocking DDR on Oni for having a jump in one of the 16th triplets. And omg, not 10 seconds of 16th triplets!!!!111!!!!1!!!one!!!! If you can't do 16th triplets for the little time where they occur in this song, don't play oni charts.

  • Not really difficult, it's actually very fun, just remember to have at least 1.5x speed mod, know when the slow down part is (in this case, 1:38), practice a lot and most of all, GO FOR IT!!! NEVER BE AFRAID!!! If you don't finish the song, it's fine, at least you tried.... :DDDD

  • i actually find the heavy of this harder than challenge because i often fail to prepare myself for the huge jump spam in the middle. i usually dislike charts with tons of crossovers and strange jump placement, but despite this chart being full of them it is one of my sN2 favorites; strange.

  • Can i really call you a dancing master?

    I hope so.

  • Oh my lord....

    I can only do heavy..

  • tbh, I love PhoeniX. It's my favorite TRIP MACHINE (not including on the bounce, which is basically the spiritual successor of PhoeniX).

And the S-Oni chart is much easier than the S-Heavy chart. The steps actually flow very well with the music, and doublestepping is minimal.

  • i have played this song challenge and i just quit

  • I hope this in the next ddr game..... 360 ver needs this song..

  • Yeeeeea doublestepping is totally fine with me, it's part of the challenge. Triplestepping, not so fun T_T

  • Crossover = horizontal foot movement over the center panel, for example L-U-R stepped by alternating feet.

Doublestep = taking two or more different arrows in a row with the same foot, for example L-U-R with the first arrow stepped with your left foot and the other two with the right one.

  • I still love the song and chart though... For some reason ^^" I think Konami did well on this, especially compared to some other ones =P

  • I know what a doublestep is, but what is a crossover?

  • a left-down-right, right-down-left, left-up-right, and right-up-left sequence

  • If that's a crossover, I don't know what a doublestep is.

  • The most basic crossover I can think of is right-down-left-down-right, where you would hit the first two normally, then cross your right foot over to hit the left panel, then pull it back over and hit the down and right again. So in this case, your right foot would be hitting the right and left panels while your left would stay on down.

  • This is admittedly not one of the better Trip Machines, because for some reason it just doesn't hit that level of chill, house, and breakbeat that the others achieve so well

  • Agreed. It's just there to be difficult, and in the process, it loses all the reasons which made the trip machine series fun to play to begin with.

  • I hate this song.. the backround is really hard

  • Bwahahaha!!! The first time I seen this I just watched the background!!! T^T I like the song though Still ^^,

  • I love 1:26.

  • I break into a sweat just watching this

  • that looks FUN!!

    not too hard though :/

  • this gonna be hell when you step on the keys...

  • trip machine should not be 10 footers

  • Love this song... The chart's pretty sweet, too

  • That stepchart fucking sucked. Hard.

  • Lol explain?

  • hehe the explanation I made in my previous post applies to this chart as well :P its such an interesting song, too bad that the steps are not as interesting hehe ^^

  • The step chart is ackward, but none of the stepcharts are as good as ITG's (or as hard for that matter)

  • lol have you seen Pluto Relinquished? Or for that matter DDR X's new releases? xD

  • yeah I have, DDR X has the dumbest stepcharts. The only reason why they're hard is because the makers spam crossovers every 5 seconds.

  • @perfectchaoslemon yeahhh

  • @perfectchaoslemon Because crossovers are hard, right?

  • @fattysmash77 no, it's because Healing D Vision Oni's crossover section is incredibly easy.

  • @perfectchaoslemon I never said that particular song's crossover section was easy....but you make it seem like crossovers in general are hard.

  • @fattysmash77 well the way ddr spams them all over the place, like in Saber Wing Headshot, Pluto Relinquish, and Trigger, they can get very very annoying.

  • Explain D:<

  • OK. A stepchart should try and follow the music rythm and melody as closely as possible. For this, the stepchart designer uses notes and combined elements like crossovers, turns, doubletaps, etc. DDR steps abuses crossovers, and seems to have a phobia for 16th streams. When these occur, they are oversaturated with crossovers (pluto relenquish for example). The steps dont reflect the rythm in an ideal way, and are in many cases too easy. For hard good songs, check out mungyodance or ITG =)

  • Wow. Very well explained. I would argue your post, but there seems to be no reason to. You got it smack on. :)

  • @gigaman3 i agree with you, but most of the time the stepcharts follow the beat. you just have to listen closely. Plus, in my opinion, the songs on DDR are better than ITG and PIU for those that haven't been transferred from them.

  • @gigaman3 another ITG fanboy. There both good games. ITG fault: some songs are overdramatic and not fun. DDR fault: some songs do not follow the beat as well as they should. GET OVER IT.

  • loboooooooooooo

  • WTF at 0:55.

  • I think Challenge is easier because there are less jumps.

  • this kinda sucks. it doesn't have the slick groove feel of other trip machines (or the ominousness of trip machine survivor) and, like the woefully overrated 9 foot survivor, i wouldn't remotely put this at 10.

  • Before I say this, I'm not complaining, and I love that Trip Machine has hit as a 10 footer, but this was easier than I expected when I played it ._. And a lot of the newer boss songs have a lot of double stepping and immediate, quick step-to-jumps...Oh well, guess it just adds to the difficulty xP

  • Barely any of those steps actually flowed into each other... lots of double stepping.

    Good Song. Shit chart.

  • At the risk of sounding really stupid, I don't think Trip Machine songs are meant to do that.

  • Qebafhzn truly does understand Trip Machine.

I mean, HELLO DDRFaQ!!! TRIP machine?!?!? TRIP!!!

It's kinda obvious the point of the song.

  • The double stepping is what was sapposed to make the song hard in the first place. "TRIP Machine."

  • how do you get it to do autoplay anyway????

i wanna get my supernova 2 to do that!

  • i really like the backround!h1auz is a genius

  • easier AAA for a SN2 boss song

  • 神!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i liked the heavy step chart better. not because its easier but the way the arrows are setup.
