It's Over-EQ'd. I find that it's way too crisp and crunchy (in a way that makes me think of someone punching wafer-thin glass and landing in equally thin potato chips), and those last notes were so loud they literally shook my desk. The vocals are also a little off-time (too early)

@Roflmao9 Definitely the vocal .wav files by themselves. I tried it with an entire song and it sounded... like doody. xD

Unless you write the instrumental yourself. Then, maybe. But if you have a pre-existing instrumental track, then just the voice.

It sounds too heavily compressed in the high-ends, and it sounds like it's missing dynamics. Why would you want to boost 200-20Hz by 12dB!? Voicaloids are no bassy instruments, this will only make a big mess with the kick and bass. You should do elegant steps around the 3-4Khz range perhaps. Add some bit of reverb as well (But don't over do the decay or it will sound like it's being sung in a cave)

Most of the time now, I equalize the vocal AND karaoke track so they fit together nicely, THEN I equalize the master track also to make it sound normal.

@ShiawaseNoMerodi They don't sell Soundbooth because they wanted to concentrate on improve Audition. Now If you want a sound editor you must have Audition. Also I know that Audition is tool-based and it seems easier to use than Soundbooth.

@JeremyB796 Yep! But it works better with higher-quality voicebanks. If there's lots of static in the recordings, it won't sound as good.

@JeremyB796 It should! Those are just the settings that I use for Kiyoteru: they won't always apply to every Vocaloid, and certainly not with UTAU. I just use them to make Kiyoteru sound a little clearer than he normally does.

@mayanightstar Uhh... there's not really any shortcut that I know of, sorry XD Most of the time, I listen for where the vocals are supposed to start, pause, look at the EXACT SPOT where it starts, press stop, and then move the .wav file so that the part where the vocals start in there match up with the karaoke... then listen and move it around as needed. (Sorry if that was confusing... basically, I use trial and error.)
