im sunni muslim i really am not that religious but i am defiently a believer and have faith im very interested in suffism i have ancesters that wer sufi i feel like it will make me a better person and a better muslim being a sufi , get my heart in the right place and focused on doing good, i really just started learning about suffism and i know little but something about it interests me alot i feel like i will be closer with allah if i am does anybody have any advice for me

Bakedturtle, unfortunatley Muslims are not allowed to celebrate Muahammad in Saudi Arabia because of the strict interpretation of Islam in Saudi Arabia. The Irony is - as you may have seen in Laurance of Arabia - The English helped in establishing the current government in Saudi Arabia which practices a fanatic strain of Islam. The good moderate Muslims like the Sufis in this video are more free to practice their faith in the west than in the east.

No, it is not a hate but a true religion that teaches love and kindness of humanity. The Quran is easy to read but needs a lifetime of experience and knowledge to understand it. One will only view the quran according to what one's heart is.

Let me give you MY answer, and I stress, MY answer: because in Sufism we believe in the untouchable ultimate truth which no one should ever claim knowledge of. Sufis are mystics, who may or may not be Muslims, even though the word Sufi almost always refers to those who are Muslims.

Sufis, unlike their Sunni and Shiite brethren, emphasise the spiritual aspect of Islam as opposed to the communal and legal/practiced aspect of Islam.

Brother Arieyhanz, Sufis are Muslims it can not be otherwize. although Sufism was also the spiritual current in all religions, non the less Allah said he perfected his religion with Islam (complete submission to Allah). There fore if you are not a Muslim you can be an admirer of Sufism and its practices but not a sufi in reality. First of all peace be upon you my brother. I don't know why there aren't any women sitting at the front, maybe they are not part of the steering group. But the reason why it's advised for women to sit at the back especially when there is rememberance of god in progress, is to maintain a concentration. Pakgaisar, Actually our mother Aisha was married to prophet Muhammad at the age of nine. This was the custom, some were married at even younger ages, but the marriage was not consumated untill the girl became of age. Aisha was very beloved to her husband, and she became one of the most prominant scholars on Islamic jurisprudance of her time. Many of the men companions of Prophet Muhammad learned from her the knowledge she learned from Propher Muhammad

As to marrying more than one wife, It is an accepted practice to many religions not only to Islam. Prophet Solomon had 99 wives. It is true in christianity today and in the west, you can only marry one woman; but the reality is that many married people in the west have relationships outside marriage, causing a hight rate in divorce and millions of children concieved out of wedlock. In Islam you are legaly responsible for the wife and her children. Which is better?
